So anyway, I used to be a giant anime h8er. And well, I still am for the most part. But the only anime I've ever not hated, and actually thoroughly enjoy, is Sword Art Online. Quite frankly, I have no idea why at all. I mean I really don't know why I like it of all animes I've seen(besides Pokémon of course )

So anyway, my question is really, what animes do you guys think I would like if I enjoyed SAO so much? Of course some insight as to why I enjoyed that anime when I strongly dislike all other would be appreciated, but idk how anyone could answer that.

Isn't that funny. I've heard that a lot. I've seen Tokyo Ghoul, Hetalia(terrible af), Attack on Titan, and some more I've forgotten the names of. Not to mention Corey in the House.

It varies. House of Cards is my favorite show. The X Files are good. But I also like comedy like 30 Rock. I liked Breaking Bad. All pretty standard.

Log Horizon is like SAO, but most agree that it's a lot better. Accel World is from the same author as SAO, but was written before SAO. I can't think of anything else that involves games off the top of my head. I really like No Game No Life though, it's very smart for an anime.

Personally, I'd dig up .hack// if you're looking for a similar setting. That is to say, ending up trapped in an MMO. I liked that - and probably should go watch it again.

Though, given that I haven't finished watching SAO, take that with a grain of salt.

Mostly I hated how perverted it could be. Now you'll probably say, "House of Cards has a sex scene in like every episode!" But you see, that's not animated. Animated stuff gives me the creeps. Somehow I pushed passed it in SAO.

Other than that, it tends to annoy me. And the fans can get to me, no offense. But I'm sure you all know the type.

Tokyo Ghoul is decent, though its edgyness can deter people.
Hetalia is grossly overhyped by Tumblr and DeviantART simultaneously. It's not that bad, but it's not that good either.
Attack on Titan is in a similar situation, being grossly overhyped, but it's fairly good itself. Just not amazing.

Sadly, there are no real anime that compare to House of Cards - politics seems to be a touchy subject in Japan, and as a result there aren't many anime, manga, or movies of note about the Japanese government. Except Servant x Service, but that's a comedy.

As a starter I'd suggest Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
