Yeah of course a central leader, but he isnt a King
No not really, The Mediterranean was, well the center of knowledge and culture, and they had ocean-going or jut more hardy vessels, most Barbarian Tribes and Kingdoms were coastal and light, and would be ripped up by a storm in open sea, this includes the Nordics, for at least a century I think the Nordics won't be finding our lands with certainty
Well If Tribes were friendly that would be true, tribes sorted themselves into their own little groups and fought these other ones, or teamed up against the powerful one tribe above the others, and as was said before on ships, yes the Insular Celts are from the Gaullic Celts as descendants, but once again these are tribes, and warlike ones are the ones who survive, that is until the Romans...anyways unless you were teaming up against an enemy or friendly with the other tribes leader like from Blood or something, there was a general mistrust or hate for one another
Actually, Irish and Briton seacraft were quite good at oceangoing, I forget who but this Greek cartographer took a Galley to Galicia, a Gallic craft to Britain, and a Briton hide canoe to somewhere near Orkney, and went further to "where the sea turned to milk". The Briton craft were basically hide stretched over a frame, but their simplicity is the reason they survived a storm, they simply rolled over the waves, and everyone got seasick, but otherwise they were fine.
Really? I hadn't heard that story, I would like to read on it, if you knew the Cartographers Name ;-; ,Well, I won't retract my statement on Norse Raids still, since the Mighty Longship has not yet to be perfected, and that to tribes far enough away the Isles are Legend or Myth
