You're in no way in a position of strenght so, WHY would the british listen to a bunch of separatist, especially when they're so few and haven't show any proof of their organization nor power?

Chamberlain had finished packing the things he would need when he was interrupted by a knock at the door. "Enter" he called, closing the lid of his suitecase, with Churchill stepping inside.
"Ah, Mr. Prime Minister I'm happy I caught you before you left" he said, closing the door behind him.
"Tell me Churchill, you seem to have become the bearer of bad news" he sighed "What now?"
Churchill grimaced "There is a rebellious group calling themselves the 'Irish Republican Army' or IRA for short and they demand we let Ireland a separate and sovereign state in exchange for their support if war were to occur" he said, handing Chamberlain the letter "Oddly enough it was addressed to me"
"They must still be in Ireland at this moment, I want the security on the Irish Sea tightened we cannot trust someone who will 'free my homeland from your clutches' also promise the Irish rejuvenation to their industry and financial aid to those who were affected by the Famine and food handouts, we don't want this movement gaining sway." he ordered quickly "Give them dominion status as well, let them elect their own government and interior affairs" he added
