Aser Syanlins

Standing inside of his private office, Aser looked outside at the green grass and warm, pleasant heat that wafted into his room. The frosted glass windows allowed some light into the room as Aser continued to look outside. The wine fields in the distance with serfs picking at them. Those were Syanlins grapes, to be used for making wine to be shipped east for a few more coins to be put in the treasury. The Syanlins had made a decent comeback since the 968 decline, making good use of the grape, local game and rivers populated with large swarms of fish to be shipped east and north for gold.

Aser almost wished he could be out there, working alongside the serfs in the heat. The heat wasn't that bad even, it wasn't the heat where you wished you were in the sub-arctic regions of the world, no, it was the heat that you lied under a tree and doze off to. The kind that was blissful and pure, the kind that took you out of reality and put you into this sub-conscious reality. Aye, if Aser was a child again, he would definitely be out there, playing knights with Villem and venturing off into the back woods, exploring the "dangers" of the forest. Chuckling to himself, Aser turned and looked around the room.

His office was not too shabby compared to Picarry's before Aser had been forced to sell most of the luxurious items. A large, oak desk that was stacked with invoices, contract notifications, notifications from spies and military advisers on Camasesi and their allies movements on the seas and on land, messages asking for marriage proposals, messages in general, income and expenses reports and more. It was a heavy workload for Aser, but he enjoyed it, keeping up with the Syanlins' proud heritage of excellent stewardship. A tall and grand bookcase stood to Aser's right, stacked with volumes of fictional stories, myths, history, economics, politics and, of course, the 16-novel biography of House Syanlins. The rest of the room had candles (which were not lit), two other chairs, a couch made of luxurious and foreign fabrics from the east, a rugged rug that Aser had dragged up from his childhood room (he considered it to be good luck from its fantastic and colourful design) and finally, the door. The tall, hardwood door that had been polished and been there ever since the manor had been built. It was tall, magnificent and, well, definitely was older than Aser, his father and his grandfather before him.

Sitting down at his desk, Aser shifted through the multiple papers that awaited him. He felt knee deep in this pathetic paperwork. It had been a while since he had travelled to Lamazanii and he planned to do that. Looking up, Aser knew that there was always a guard standing outside of his office, waiting for the day to be called up. Today, was his lucky day, Aser supposed as he prepared himself.

"Yehalf, is it? Find Villem, we're going to Lamazanii today!" Aser shouted as the guard walked in and bowed.

"A reason, sire?" The guard asked as he shifted his pike so he could bow properly.

"No reason, it's just getting stuffy. You came come along too, for professional duties of course." Aser smiled at the man before nodding to him. "Make it quick too, I do not have all day to prepare for a small journey."

Bjorn Syanlins

The smell of sweat had consumed the courtyard of the manor as levies were doing their training session. Bjorn didn't mind, but rather liked watching the men improve their own handy work in combat. A good levy will protect the house and great one will survive the fight. As the men continued to train, Bjorn sat underneath an overhang and used a wet stone to sharpen his battleaxe. He had not even been in the training circle and the heat of today was already biting at his skin. Though, a good heat like this usually brought at the best in men. Their minds start being beaten upon by the sun and that's when you get to see all manner of men acting weirdly during combat. While looking up from his battleaxe Bjorn watched as a levy jumped onto the other began using pummeling him before he was pulled off and dragged underneath the overhang. It was obvious that the heat had finally got to him and by the looks of him he was baking in his own armor. With a motion of his hand a servant walked over and handed him a pitcher of water which he drenched the man with. The levy gave a tired nod before dozing off into a dream of some sort.

While the levy dozed off, Bjorn raised his battleaxe near his face and inspected the sharpness of the edge with his fingers. He ran his index finger over the edge and removed it after he saw the blood drip onto the edge. The blood slowly oozed from his cut, but he sucked on the wound and it quickly stopped before he wrapped the wound. A levy who was in the training circle nodded to Bjorn announcing that he was ready to train with him. A cool breeze flowed into the courtyard and Bjorn indulged in it before hefting the battleaxe on his shoulders before throwing on his helmet.

Bjorn Stepped into the ring with his armor and got into a fighting stance with his battleaxe and nodded to the levy. The levy rushed forward and swung his sword towards Bjorn's head, but it was caught between the edge bit and the neck of the battleaxe. With his strength, Bjorn pushed the levy off and whacked him in the face with the 4ft long shaft. Whilst the man held his head in pain the son of Blaeing sidestepped the levy and swung his battleaxe under the levy's feet. A hard fall to the ground and Bjorn already had his foot on the man's chest with his battleaxe raised and ready to be brought down.

"Do you yield!?" Bjorn roared as he held the battleaxe high.

"I yield, sir! I yield!" The levy shouted the response as he raised his hands while his head looked away.

"Good, another good session." Laughed Bjorn as he removed his foot from the levy's chest before helping him up. The levy thanked Bjorn for the help before grabbing weapons and heading off to the barracks that was attached to the manor. As he removed his helmet, Bjorn could hear hoof beats enter the courtyard and the person atop the horse shouted for him.

"Sir Bjorn! Sir Bjorn, I have news!" Said the tired messenger as he caught his breath.

"Well, what is it?" Responded Bjorn as he slammed his battleaxe into the ground before wiping the sweat away.

"Lord Aser will be making his way to the manor. What do you wish?" Asked the messenger as he dismounted from his horse.

"Please prepare for his arrival to the manor. I want it look nice and clean before he get here." Bjorn ordered as he dumped another pitcher of water onto himself to cool him down.

Villem Syanlins

“You care for the girl, do you not?” Villem asked the young stable hand.

“I... yes sir I do.”

“Then I fail to see the problem.”

“What life could I possibly offer her? I tend the horses, muck their stalls. I make bare enough to keep myself in clean clothes when not seeing to my duties. What life would we have?”

“A content one. Where you have each other,” Villem replied. “Where you have your child.” The young man thought a moment.

“Would your brother allow two of his servants to marry?” he asked.

“If it comes to it, I will deal with my brother. You get yourself to the kitchens and make offer. And when happy response is made, get thee to the church and let the Father know that a marriage will soon be made.” The youth nodded.

“I will do as you have said.” He turned to leave the stables, then turned back to Villem. “I thank you, sir, for commanding me to my heart.”

“Go, you young rake, lest I decide to preview you the thrashing a husband receives from a vexed wife.” Villem chuckled to himself as the young man rushed off to the kitchens of the manor. He smiled a moment at his work when he noticed Yehalf approaching. “What news, Yehalf?”

“Sir, your brother sends word. We are to travel to Lamazanii today. He desires to be gone quickly.”

“He often desires things in such manners. Very well. Inform my brother I shall be ready within the hour.” With that, Villem left the stables to return to his rooms and begin packing what items he would need in the city.

Junitaliaranus The Inquisitive

Jun sat among the rather sparse furnishings of his room, having arrived in Lamazanii very recently he has not made contact with his extended family yet.

Reading a book that he has thrice previously, he waited for his manservant, his one and only retainer at the moment, to return. Pressed for funds and connections in this foreign place, he may very soon find himself out on the street if he cannot come up with a course of action. Not that one could tell that distressed him, with his steel gaze.

"Pardon M'lord." A voice came through the door, accompanied by a knock.

"Come in Kalain, what have you found?"

The man steps in, a good head taller than his Master, as well as a decade and a half his elder. Once a former thief and mercenary, he pledged himself to the young man, although they both refuse to explain the details of the arrangement.

"The word on the streets is that the Syanlin family's head, and some others, will be coming to town shortly, it might be a good chance to meet your kin, M'lord." Kalain reported with his hands clasped behind his back.

"Thank you Kalain, we should be prepared to meet them then." Jun replies with his usual tone of command as he closes his book, "Let us see what manner of men and women the Sylanlins are."

Aser Syanlins

Aser heard footsteps approaching quickly down the hallway as he stood up. Yehalf appeared again, his face flushed with the amount of heat he had to endure underneath his chainmail. He bowed again, before looking up at Aser.

"What did he say?" Aser asked, looking over his stacks of paper.

"Villem said he will be ready shortly." Yehalf reported as he stood up straight.

"Very well," Aser looked at the window, outside at the blue sky, patched with a few clouds. "Gather nine of my personal guards and we will ride to barracks, I'm sure Bjorn must be killing some of my levies by mistake, as usual."

Yehalf had no idea whether to laugh or not, this was one of those situations where you laughed and got your finger cut off by the Syanlins or don't laugh and accidentally insult your lord. Looking at Aser, Yehalf felt like he wasn't really close with Bjorn and probably only kept him here because he was family. Bjorn had never been invited to the Manor of Lions anyways and no one knew why, but Yehalf let out a nervous laugh anyways. Smiling at Yehalf, Aser nodded to him and laughed alongside him.

"Right, nine guards, outside at the road in about a few minutes." Aser ordered before he left the room, heading down the hallway directly in front of the office, Yehalf scrambling down the hallway to the left.

Elisak Vocanni

Elisak watched her cousin-in-law, Bjorn, knock down that new levyman from St. Groakis, Brian, she thought his name was. Regardless, she had already informed a messenger to inform Bjorn that Aser would probably visit the barracks soon for his daily inspection of the levy. She honestly despised Bjorn, his strength and how he paraded it almost was something that Elisak wished she could get rid of him. He was a cynical person, something that Elisak felt that was distrustful.

Footsteps behind her as the same messenger who had just informed Bjorn, appeared behind Elisak. He stood there in his dark brown leather tunic, his iron axe sheathed at his side. He was no ordinary messenger, but one of the men who formed Elisak's private retinue. No one, except for Elisak and Aser, knew about this. They were 25 men, veterans of the Astrogomenite Army, well-trained, professional and well-equipped soldiers. They were excellent fighters, probably ten times better than the Blind Eye. Elisak had them keeping their eyes on Bjorn for quite sometime, watching his every move and posing as levies being trained and messengers. Watching his every move, keeping tabs on him, in preperation for Elisak to pounce and swoop him up and murder him.

No one would see it coming, no one except for Elisak. She would be no kinslayer, since she only knew him through marriage.

"He's getting ready for Aser, there is no way we can prepare the plot with Aser approaching." The 'messenger' announced quietly, closing the door behind him.

"I know," Elisak nodded, continuing to watch Bjorn. "We shall await their return from wherever they are planning to go to."

"Lamazanii," The 'messenger' corrected her politely. "They're embarking to Lamazanii."

"How did you find that out?" Elisak wheeled around to look at the 'messenger'.

"Intuition, my lady."

Elisabeth

Elisabeth sat comfortably under the shade provided to her by a small oak tree just outside of the Manor. Her eyes firmly fixated on a miniature leathered book in which she was scribbling something with her quill. She enjoyed life around the manor, but it was noisy with all the men training in the yard and the servants busy with their daily duties, that she often desired a little tranquility.

She stopped scribbling whatever she was writing and her green eyes flickered upwards, just as a gentle breeze grazed her surrounds, causing her hair to sway slightly, she closed her eyes enjoying the nice, cool, breeze before snapping her little leathered booklet close. Her time in this little safe haven was over, she would soon be called for her proper etiquette lesson, something she could well do without but was required for her to do as she was a Syalin. Slowly propelling herself upwards she made her way back towards the Manor, following a thin dirt pathway littered with weeds and stones, that lead her towards the back end of the courtyard.

She crept by, trying to avoid being spotted by anyone, which she was successful in doing until she slammed into another individual. Papers from her booklet flew everywhere, and she quickly scrambled to catch them. When she was sure that she had got them all she spread them neatly on the floor and placed them back in her book before glaring at the person in front of her.

"I-I'm sorry madam, I didn't see you there" he stuttered, trying to help her up. She simply shrugged him off.

"Whatever don't let it happen again" She grunted, in an unlady-like manner, she wasn't in the mood to deal with this. "Your excused um.." She stared at him, waiting for the him to give her his name.

"Ah Yehalf" He says nervously. Elisabeth just gave him a disinterested look and simply pushed passed him.

"Um lady Elisabeth, I just want to inform you that your cousins are preparing to leave for the city" He informed her, not really sure if he was suppose to tell her this.

Elisabeth glanced at him over her shoulder, before walking off. If they were going to the city maybe she could convince them to allow her to tag along, it's been so long since she's actually been to the city.

Aser Syanlins

Stepping outside, Aser looked around at the guard Yehalf had assembled. Professional looking men with chainmail underneath brown leather vests with the Syanlins sigil, the Lion, embedded on the top right corner of the vest. They all had arming swords at their sides, heater shields on their backs and a multitude of metal helmets that had noseguards on them. As well, they held various polearms, most of them spears except for Yehalf and another one who held halberds. No sign of Villem however, probably out chatting up a commoner or getting drunk as usual. Aser would join him, the two were close and there was no denying it, but, right now Aser needed his half-brother/right hand man at his side and he was no where to be seen.

Slightly annoyed, Aser left a soldier behind in case if Villem showed up later, taking Yehalf and the remaining eight others with him as they sped down the road on their horses, the soldiers riding rouncies but Aser rode a jet black courser. They continued, Aser looking around as he gazed on the vineyard farmers working away under the heat. The soldiers formed a column of two men, with Yehalf riding alongside Aser, his halberd strapped to his back alongside his shield.

"It's a warm day isn't it My Lord?" Yehalf asked to pass the time as they rode up a hill, with a stone fence on the right hand side over watching another farm, this one harvesting grain for the villages and the manors, and a treeline to the left.

"Pleasantly," Aser replied happily as they overcame the hill, coming back down, with the Barracks Manor in sight, the levies visible training in the courtyard. "Is that Bjorn?"

"I think so sire, no one else wields a battleaxe that enormous." Yehalf confirmed as he appeared to squint, the horses coming rapidly down the hill and making a corner as they approached the manor.

Two men in leather tunics holding medium-sized round shields and 4-foot spears, could be seen on the road. Syanlins Levies, probably not the most heavily armoured or armed, but they were capable with their assorted melee weapons and spears. Aser had seen this first hand during a skirmish not too far out from the manor where Camasesi Levies and a Syanlins Patrol had found and engaged each other. It ended in disaster for the Camasesites, with Aser acknowledging that he had to step up the Syanlins' military strength.

Slowing down, Aser approached the levies, who snapped to attention, their shields in front of their torsos and their spears at their sides. The training Bjorn had promised Aser, that he would train in the discipline into the new levies, appeared to work. Now was the test.

"Greetings levymen," Aser held his hand up and greeted them as one of them approached him.

"Good day sire, we heard from a messenger that you were to come. Sir Bjorn is just in the back getting read-" The levy began before Aser held his hand up to silence him.

"We never sent a messenger." Aser looked at the levy, confused, as the levy shifted uncomfortably.

"Uh, not to be disrespectful m'lord, but a messenger showed up during this afternoon's practice, saying you rode to here." The levy began again, looking down before continuing his reply.

"Aye, we'll look into it." Aser looked at the manor. It was the old Manor of Lions' main hall, built of beige bricks. Of course, it had been re-purposed due to the growing Syanlins family. Still called the Manor Syanlins as its formal name, it was nothing more but a military establishment for the Syanlins' retinue and levy force for both training and housing. "Shall we enter or no?"

"Yes My Lord, this way." The levy pointed to the manor as a group of levies had gathered to lead inside of the manor.

"Thank you," Aser began to move, his guard following him, before he looked back. "You did good levy, keep this up and I'll make sure you move up in the ranks."

Aser didn't see what the levy's reaction was, but he assumed it was astonishment. The group continued to move in, Aser dismounting with Yehalf following him, and the rest of the retinue after them. The levy at the grand doors opened it for Aser as he walked in. Inside of the entrance hall, the marble floor that had been originally there had been replaced with polished dark hardwood with most of the former main manor stripped of all valuable materials and replaced with either polished stone or wood. The hall was empty except for Aser and his group, the stairs leading upstairs was still as fantastic as always, as the retinue moved to their respective places.

"Cousin Bjorn!" Aser shouted out loud before he looked around. "Cousin!"

The White Viper

The Liongate, the Grand City of Lamazanii
Summer, of 1005 AR
Sigmund Vocanni

Commander Sigmund Vocanni; a good title for man like him but still men's heart desire always more. Lamazanii was not a faraway place, unlike the distant cold north with it's snow nor an abundance of scorching sun of the east; yet this city was home. Sigmund was given the fortune from birth that few have: to be born into a upper echelons of society. The Vocanni were a proud and an old house, but yet house Syanlin was even greater as it's reputation was known across the bay for it's brutal reputation. He had arrived at this very city a day in young age, having taken leave from the Manor of Lions

Now, he sat down the bench, rubbing shoulders as all the "great" people they all seemed the same to him. He had "cleaned" his armor for this occasion which meant he gave absolutely two shits for these people. I a glimpse he remembered Job, a stubborn, honourable old fool but yet a great man who happen to be his relative. Yet they were family still regardless of waht name he bore, and Sigmund did wish silenly of course to see his relatives once more, their own children even more - if they had of course; he lost his siblings but the rest Syanlin young at them time tried to make him comfortable to fill those losses yet they still failed but they tried well, the Vocanni however how good they were they were still a different family with different habbits which was difficult for Sigmund to adjust even to this day. The wine helped numb the unconscious pain on his arse, alongside with the endless stream of delicacies from across the Parasel Sea dealt blows to his stomach. He had lost count of how many stuffed aurochs and lamprey pies had been placed in front of him, yet he was sure there had only been a few of many. As Commander of the Liongate, he had dressed appropriately for this morning: he clothed himself in the city's watch armor, the silver leaping white viper of his personal sigil to his breast as well as a silver with mixed cyan eagle of the Vocanni pinned to the collar, and wrapped himself in a blue and silver cloak, a humble addition to a fine outfit. He was accustomed to these finery of lords and ladies and this was his best effort at appearing the role.

Sigmund and his men sat together at the bench, with for those bastards from the Batunamizi family to arrive. Their "donations" or better saying their bribes made every arrival of their's a ceremonial welcome duty almost a routine which was quite boring. But this was Liongate, only the important could enter here alongside with the connected as well. From here you could acces directly to Hightown, the central plaza and the port by it's clean marble roads, the other gates were for scoundrels.

He finished off his wine, holding up his chalice for a refill from the scullion who darted from soldier to soldier, while at the same sexual harrassment was going awry. They weren't "playing" with anything special to behold, save a couple large breasts and beautiful.... <ahem>.They fianlly approached, poured, and walked off without a word but actually the opposite truth to be told as if they eated fish and didn't stopped talking like parrots, leaving Sigmund to the solace of his companions those around him, who were either 'captivated' by others(women mostly) or watching the scene quietly from the battlements or the street. He sipped the Kaemsci purple, filled with fruits and spices to give it that luscious texture and strong flavour. To his right was Ser Haldon Guttmore - calling Ser is actually a joke to many as he became a Ser by mistake by the king himself as he was drunk but actually both were drunk at the time, heir to the whorehouses and son of a whore, one of his lackeys. Haldon was ageing, well over his forties, yet still no serious - at all as he was worst than a kid. Sigmund wondered if Haldon felt resentment towards the Batunamizi and their longevity, yet dared not pry over the matter. He smiled to the upcoming party, spitting wine in front of them. "How are you finding the day m'lords? You should know we know how to entertain, does we not boys?" He said quite sarcastically, glancing down at Olaf Dumbledore, the Cockeater; he got that nickname because during the northern wars he was delighted cutting the cocks of his enemies. 'Olaf, and once he led the scouts well. At least that man knows how to have a good time.' he thought smiling.

The men answered with small but funny mammerisms, the patriach of house Batunamizi had become red from his anger. "When the Lord Commander learns about this you will regret this Vocanni, I promise as much" . Their littile "conversation" was cut as short as a large retinue came with them from behind; Camasesi, just what I need it, and are those Hishimiro banners too? what the hell--. Now Sigmund was no longer smiling, he bowed low and let the men pass without further incident but not before mentioning visiting the sites and the Lord Commander himself as he will happily lick their asses & boots. Somen men laughed and some did not, that didn't bothered him, what did bothered him was what a eastern merchant family is doing here? Quite the intrigue scenes would be coming

Bjorn Syanlins

With the door behind him locked, Bjorn began stripping out of his armor and placed it on a mannequin that stood upright. Its blank face stared at the only entrance to Bjorn's room and it watched it carefully from afar. Even though the damn thing had no motion see it in the dark at night could give someone a fright. Though he didn't want to admit it but the damned mannequin did thwart a attempt on his life once. The silent assassin shot the mannequin instead of Bjorn and he repaid the assassin by beating his head in with a chamber pot. As the memory passed through his mind he could he knocking at the door to his room. With many thoughts in his mind he grabbed his falchion and stood behind the door before opening, ready to pounce. He slowly opened it and he could see that the guard was some distance from the door after knocking on it. Bjorn nodded at the man before throwing his falchion onto his bed before addressing levy.

"Aye, what is it man?" Asked Bjorn as he unstrapped the lastof his armor and put it onto the mannequin.

"Sir, your cousin Aser is here." Replied the guard who bowed his head.

"Cousin Aser is finally here! It's about time!" Laughed Bjorn, the only thing on him was his sweat pants and shirt. He turned to the guard and waved him away before pulling the dirty clothes off of himself and throwing them into a nearby bin. With a smile slowing growing across his face he turned to a nearby stand that held a bowl of scented water and poured the thing on him. "Mustn't smell like shite before cousin Aser." Thought the one eyed warrior as he put on his pants and boots before throwing on a black tunic. With his cleaning up done, Bjorn put a chain mail shirt over his tunic and strapped his falchion to his side before exiting his room. He descended the stairs and his smile grew into chuckle as he could finally see his cousin waiting in the main hall.

"Well if it isn't Cousin Aser! It's nice to see once again. Sorry I took so long I had to freshen up just for you!" Shouted Bjorn as hugged his cousin and patted him on the back. "It was nice of you to send your messenger ahead of your party. We had time to prepare food if you would like some."

Again, the mention of said messenger chilled Aser's warmth. He looked at Bjorn before returning the hug and the pact, smiling. Bjorn was a good guy, and from what Aser heard from the comments from the levy outside, he was a ferocious fighter. Regardless of this, Bjorn was a fun guy to talk to, drink with and sometimes, practice fighting with, depending on his mood. Releasing himself from the hug, Aser looked Bjorn up and down before grinning at him.

"The levies keeping you busy or what cousin? You look much more worn out than when you first came back." Aser joked with Bjorn, commenting on his younger cousin's appearance, the weary warrior that made him look 35, not 28. "We're riding to Lamazanii, I need to recount my stocks and ships that are supposed to arrive today. Villem, well, the bastard hasn't even bothered to get up probably. He's somewhere back in the Manor getting drunk or fucking a servant girl, one or the other."

Looking around, Aser admired the skylight that had been added to the barracks recently, probably ten years ago under Picarry's rule. Aser had never really grown up in this manor, but he knew that his grandfather, Arthur Syanlins, had. It was everything that Arthur had told him, how the staircase was probably the best part of the manor. Well, grandfather was right, it was pretty grand.

"So, cousin, I have men waiting back at the Manor of the Lions with the orders to bring Villem to the docks if he can't catch up with us here." Aser returned his attention to Bjorn, who eagerly waited it looked like. "As well, I have sent for Elisabeth. The stuck-up little princess, you remember her right? Well, she's been begging to be taken to Lamazanii so since I'm going in, I might as well take her. I need you to come with me however, since you're the better military commander of the two of us. The Camasesi have gotten aggressive again and with the levy being trained and the retinue not up to full strength, the trade port garrisons are basically 50-men each, enough to be overrun, especially the one in Lamazanii, we need to re-establish dominance. Tonight, I want you to take 5 men and launch raids on the fellow Camasesi and Kiriaks' trade ports in Lamazanii. Burn their cargo and slaughter their soldiers before leaving. Quickly and quietly. I'll deal with the authorities."

Gregory, one of the Manor's guards, walked around, calling out Lady Elisabeth's name as he searched throughout the house for her. This was impossible, she was a child at heart it seemed. Plus she had the reputation of a huge bitch, the most recent story being how she had snapped at Yehalf. Alongside Gregory, two other guards, Kyiram and Orka, both searched for her, occassionally calling out her name as they continued the search.

"Lady Elisabeth!" Gregory called out as Kyiram and Orka both regrouped with him, their helmets underneath their arms as they wiped away the sweat.

"Bloody fucking hells," Kyiram, the longest serving soldier of the three, swore as he looked around. "She's probably off somewhere doing something and can't hear us, the deaf bitch."

"Watch it Kyiram," Orka warned him, hushing him as he glanced around to make sure none of the Syanlins were around. "You heard what they did to the last guy who insulted a Syanlins."

"That was the main branch though," Kyiram rolled his eyes before mocking Orka. "Oh dear, I just called a cousin a bitch, what the fuck do you think Aser's going to do? Cut out my tongue? No, he's far too relaxed for that, he'll laugh with me."

"Calm it you two." Gregory snapped at the two. "Aser gave me orders to find her and escort her to either the Old Manor or the trade port in Lamazanii. When I'm gone, you guys can talk all about this royal bitch, but until then, no. We're finding her and getting her to Aser, as soon as possible."

Job Syanlins

A force of 40 men rode into the city, transporting with them 3 men, all beaten and pulled by long ropes. 4 sleuth hounds pranced behind the prisoners, growing menacingly as they waited for the slightest hint of escape from the prisoners. The riders all wore identical armor, and their menacing helmets betrayed no emotion from the warriors. On the side of each pauldron, the coat of arms of the Syanlins Family was bore, marking these warriors of the Syanlins Family, the dominant bloodline in Artsgome. While they did not hold the throne, the ranks of the Kingdom's elite were adorned with Syanlins. They were the richest, the most powerful, and they were known for their strong sense of justice, evident by the 3 bandits they had captured. At the head of the column, 2 men rode together. A younger man carried the family colors, riding some distance behind the leading warrior. The latter was Lord Job Syanlins, Knight Commander of the Order of Artsgome, the Stallion of Artsgome, Scorn of the Barbarian Hordes, Nephew of Aser Syanlins. He was distinguished by the white cape that he wore, draped slightly over his left shoulder as he led his men into the city. The 3 blue and white feathers on his helmet also did a good job of marking him.

He and his men had spent the last several days and nights tracking and hunting a band of ruffians that the police had no intentions of eliminating. The bandits had already killed 10 people and raided a number of caravans and homesteads, prompting Job to respond with his family's military might. They tracked the bandits to an abandoned farm, and they attacked under the cover of darkness, easily dispatching all but three men and bringing the torch down upon their hideout. Onlookers began to gather and gaze upon the force as they rode atop their mighty, fearless chargers, carrying all sorts of weaponry. Women looked on and gossiped about the identities of the prisoners, the young maidens swooned over the fighting men, adolescent boys looked on and coveted the power of the Syanlins Family warriors, and children played "Knight vs Bandit" in the streets. The warriors ignored the commoners, and continued on their way to the barracks of the city guard.

The mounted warriors formed a wall, keeping the commoners and onlookers away from the steps leading up to the barracks as the three prisoners were marched up to the top of the tall set of steps. The guards looked on, not taking any action against the warriors, as Job had every right to summarily and publicly execute wanted criminals. Job dismounted from his horse, turning its control over to his color bearer as he walked towards the three prisoners, who were quickly forced to their knees by 6 dismounted warriors. Job's hand rested on the defeated bandits, whose ashamed, terrified eyes rested down on the stone steps. Job examined them for a moment, studying the signals sent by the body language of the bandits. Defeated, scared, infuriated; exactly where they should be... he thought, content with the state of things. It was important to periodically expose the populace to the ugly truth: no injustice can escape retribution.

He whirled around, his eyes gazing upon the ever-growing crowd of onlookers, who gave off a loud, collective murmur. He smiled for a second, the gesture concealed by his helmet, and he proceeded to trust his hands in the air, motioning for the crowd to stop. Slowly but surely, the gesture quieted the crowd, who anxiously awaited the words of the Lion. He dropped his hands slowly, stopping to remove his helmet, revealing his face to the silent audience. He tossed the helmet over to the color-bearer, who only barely managed to catch the helmet, and turned his full attention to the commoners and nobles alike, who had amassed before him. With his characteristic loud, booming, aristocratic, commanding voice, he gave his words on the impromptu execution that was about to occur.

"Citizens of Artsgome! Behold, the 3 remaining members of the country bandits that cost us all so dearly! They took your loved ones, your coin, your possessions, your safety; the Syanlins Family gives you retribution! Let us start now!"

He turned his head back to his men, and gave a nod. Without hesitation, the six warriors drew out their swords and ruthlessly hacked the bandits to death, the dying screams ringing out loudly. Job's head slowly turned back to the crowd, and he gave a satisfied look to the crowd, who soon erupted in cheering. The job was quickly finished, and the warriors sheathed their weapons and stood silently, watching Job's back.

"This is our answer to the brigands and highwaymen that threaten our safety!" Job jerked his right index finger out at the crowd. "Let it be known that you all witnessed justice being dealt for everything they took from us! They deserved no final words!"

He dropped his finger.

"Return to your homes now! Continue your lives knowing that yet another evil has left our land!"

As the city guards dealt with the corpses, he and his men soon mounted up, riding back to the family manor.

Bjorn Syanlins

"Keeping me busy? Those bastard want to keep on training and training with me! I love it, they're going to make me cry one day!" laughed Bjorn as he measured up his cousin and realized the cheeky bastard was probably right about him not looking young. Though, he could say the same for Aser, the bloody man never looked like he aged a day. All this talking and getting to see each other again made Bjorn happy to see his cousin. Maybe they could get shitfaced together or again, but that wife of his would probably tear the both of them new assholes. "Recounting stocks and ships, eh? I knew there had to be some reason for you to see my gullible fucked up face!"

As Bjorn wiped away the tears from his one good eye from the stupid joke he noticed Aser looking around. He caught his cousin admiring the skylight and only smiled at the man before looking up at the roof with his one good eye. If he was an artistic man, Bjorn would have probably commented on the beauty of it but that wasn't him. The only thing that he truly noticed was the warmth of the sun and it was comforting not like the damned heat outside.

"You sent for Elizabeth? You gone and just ruined all the fun here cousin. That stuck up little cunt." Sighed Bjorn as he removed the though of that girl from his mind. Though, when Aser mentioned the word however he knew something had been planned for him. As Aser began talking of his plans a grin popped up on Bjorn's face. He was containing the joy of silently cutting the throats of the Camasesi scum and removing them from the trade port. "If that is what you wish Aser it will be done." Smiled Bjorn, as he looked to a servant and waved her closer to him. "My lovely lass, I want you to bring Lord Aser and his men some food. They deserve such treatment!"

Well, since Bjorn insisted, Aser might as well accept the food that was going to be offered. It would be rude. Grinning at the lady, he nodded before she nodded back. Aser knew that the barracks had little wine, so that was good since Bjorn probably will get drunk in Lamazanii if Aser was not careful enough. Before Aser could speak, the doors flew open as a man wearing a dark blue tunic with the Syanlins sigil on the front, barged in, covered in sweat.

"My Lord Aser!" The man called out before acknowledging the guards who eased off before seeing Bjorn. "Sir Bjorn,"

"What is it?" Aser wheeled around and approached the man, motioning to Yehalf to fetch some water for the man. "News?"

"Aye," The man looked up at Aser, gasping and holding his finger up to catch his breath before continuing. "Your nephew, Lord Job Syanlins, has returned from his expedition, or should I say manhunt. He's publicly murdered three brigands at the Grand Square in Lamazanii."

"Wow," Aser looked back at Bjorn, his gaze saying something on the lines of you have competition, eh?, before looking back at the messenger. "Thank you sir, stay a while and rest, you'll catch a stroke in this weather."

"I would love to my lord," The messenger straightened up before regarding Aser. "But I need to deliver a message for Villem, a private one."

"Private?" Aser lifted his eyebrow at the mention of this. "What private message is this?"

"Erm," The messenger shuffled nervously before looking at Aser. "I don't know My Lord, I was given strict orders not to look at it."

"By whom?" Aser continued his questioning. "Who rules over my messengers like this?"

"Miranda Batunamizi," The messenger blurted out before grasping his mouth. "Uh,"

An awkward silence followed as Yehalf returned with the servant girl, Yehalf holding a small jug of water and the girl holding a tray of cheese, bread and other rations for the military troops.

"My Lord?" Yehalf called out, approaching the two. "What's going on?"

Whilst drinking some wine when the messenger busted into the main hall to give Aser some very important news. Of course, it was no shock to Bjorn when the messenger saw him then backed off from Aser a few feet away and continued to talking to the lord. Bjorn was known to act out or speak out against anybody that stood to close to Aser. He felt that somebody being that close to Aser could take advantage of him and use him against the levies that were here to protect him. Though, the physical skill of Aser was unknown to Bjorn since he hadn't seen him in awhile and for all he knew his cousin could disarm the man and snap his neck. Last time someone got a bit to close and got angry with Aser, Bjorn broke two of the man's ribs and busted all of his teeth out with a silver platter. It was a good time back then. While he reminiscing about the good old days Bjorn heard what the messenger said about what Job had done. It nearly made Bjorn spit out his wine but he managed to hold it in and not look like fool.

"Damn that, Job. I knew I should have gone out manhunting with him." Bjorn mentioned silently to himself as he returned to listening to the conversation. It was only a matter of time when Aser made the messenger spill the beans on a private message for Villem from Miranda Batunamizi.

"Good god...I wasn't expecting that." Stated Bjorn as he looked towards Yehalf who had returned with the servant girl. "Hanna, would check on the food in the pantry in the back real quick." Ordered Bjorn before looking at Yehalf and pointed to seat next to him, "This just got good..."

Yehalf cautiously sat beside Bjorn as he watched Aser and the messenger talk. Wait, replace talk with interrogate. Yehalf watched Aser interrogate the messenger on this letter from Miranda Batunamizi. The soldiers who had joined Aser on the ride began to lie back, resting their legs as they watched the show unfold. Yehalf had to admit, this was pretty entertaining. As well, he was glad that he was finally being treated as an equal, that promotion to Sergeant-at-Arms had been a good one, of course, now Yehalf had to go snag the soon-to-be-vacant job of Lieutenant Commander of the Guard. Thinking about this, he had completely forgot why he was sitting in the first place before he heard Aser's voice raise again.

"I'm warning you messenger, do not lie to me," Aser snapped harshly at the messenger, pacing around him. "This is a very political situation that you are currently holding in your hands right now."

"I'm telling you my lord, I know nothing of it." The messenger pleaded before Aser sighed in a mix of exhaust and fatigue of the messenger continuing to repeat the same things over and over.

"Seriously, I was in a good mood today until you refused to tell me about this." Aser growled before he crackled his knuckles. "I'm more of a steward, but my father did teach me on how to get information from stubborn people. I can show you how, if you want-" Aser turned and pointed to Bjorn. "Or Ser Bjorn over here can do it instead."

The messenger's eyes flew wide open in fear before he collapsed on his knees, crying and pleading.

"No! No my lord! Be merciful please!" The messenger then reached in his pocket and handed him a small envelope, the Villem Syanlins, written on the front in symmetric and curved handwriting.

"Good man," Aser looked at the guards before looking back at the note. "You're dismissed for the rest of the day. I'll speak to your superiors about discipline for your actions."

The messenger was then dragged outside by two of Aser's guards, screaming and calling for mercy. Aser followed his gaze before the doors closed before Aser began to walk over to Bjorn.

"Fuck him," Aser growled in disgust as he opened up the envelope and began reading it, his eyes widening at the contents. "Wow, uh, didn't realize Villem was going for noblewomen."

Aser handed the note to Bjorn, standing back and running his hand through his hair. It was a damn love letter. What the hell? What was Villem doing with a Batunamizi? Oh wow, something was happening between the two, and Aser did not like the sounds of it.

Elisabeth frowned snapping her little booklet closed as she heard the faint calls of her name. She was currently pacing around within the little library room, located with the manor grounds, and had just sat down to read a book that manage to catch her gaze. She placed the booklet back into it's designated spot on the shelf and proceeded to exit into the halls.

With a bored expression on her face she began to search for whoever called for her, though she would much rather be reading her newly found book. She barely made it to the end of the hall when she had been surround by a group of three men. Her noise wrinkled as she could smell the sweat dripping off their body. She eyed them curiously, before speaking.

"Am I right to presume you three were looking for me?" she questioned, her curious gaze quickly turning into a look of annoyance. "If so, what for? i was quite content doing other things" She announced her eyes narrowing slightly.

Villem Syanlins

Villem's trunk rapidly filled with the clothes, books and trinkets he would bring with him to Lamazanii. The young servant assigned to him placed the last item in and Villem slammed the lid shut. He hurriedly strapped on his sword and looked out the window at the assembling traveling party. His brother, ever the anxious one, was already looking annoyed that they hadn't departed yet.

Then, Villem spotted the little charm hanging from the tree by the manor's outer wall. Few of the guards or servants milling about could possibly know of the Pagan symbol's meaning. Villem was very much aware. It was no hex or curse. In fact, it was meant to grant protection from a specific evil. Which was worrying, in and of itself. Someone knew of something set to befall the Syanlins, but was unwilling to tell them what it was or how they knew. Which meant Villem had some business to attend to before going to the city.

“Let my brother know I shall meet him in the city. I must see to something in Crow Stream before I do.”

“Of course, sir,” the young servant replied. With the servant seeing to the trunk, Villem set out to see an old woman.

Crow Stream, Outside of the Grand City of Lamazanii

Villem rode his horse into the village that lived under the protection of the Syanlins family. He was immediately recognized, and many of the villagers paused to give him a warm greeting which he would echo back. A plump woman called out to him from the doors to the brothel.

“Come to see the girls again, good sir?” Several beautiful young things tittered from the windows looking down on the street. They began presenting their wares in hopes of luring him into the brothel's doors.

“Sadly not this day, madame,” Villem replied with a smile to the slightly past her prime ex-courtesan who ran the brothel. Several of the young women gave loud calls of disappointment. The headman came out to greet him.

“Milord Villem, it is good to see you again. What brings you to Crow Stream? It is early, but I'm sure the innkeeper can serve you if you are in need of drink.”

“Thank you, no. I am for the crone on the hill.”

“That old witch? What on God's green earth calls you to such a meeting?”

“What else? Questions to which an old seer may yet provide answer.” The headman shook his head.

“No question's answer could possibly drive me to consort with her kind beyond the strictest necessities, but on your head be it, milord. God speed.” Villem nodded his head in reply and drove his horse on to the small hut that sat on the outskirts of the village. Upon arriving, he dismounted and tied the reigns to the fence around the herbal garden. Villem took a deep breath, then walked the familiar steps and knocked on the door.

“Come in, Villem,” called the old voice. He opened the door and stepped inside, where he found the withered old woman stirring the contents of a large cauldron. “Had a feeling you'd be calling on me.”

“One of your visions foretold my coming, did they?”

“Not in the least. I only witnessed certain individuals stealing their way to the manor house and back last night.”

“Any you did not think to send word that wild men were coming to my home?” The old woman shrugged.

“They meant you no ill will. I saw no point. You would have been here now regardless, only this way you are better rested for your journey. Be a dear Villem and fetch me a pair of bowls, you know where they are.” Villem went to the shelf and collected a set of wooden bowls and spoons.

“Are we to both partake of you potion?” he asked with a small smile at the way she continued to regard him as a child. It was, in its own way, endearing.

“Stew, actually,” she said as she turned and gave him a toothy grin. “An old woman still needs to eat.” She ladled some stew into both bowls.

“I'm not particularly hungry,” Villem said, “and I must be off soon.”

“It's past midday and you haven't eaten, your brother will not wait any longer once you reunite and the road to Lamazanii is too long to ride hungry. Sit. Eat. Keep an old woman company.” Villem nodded in acquiescence and sat at the small table. The two began eating. It was not as fine as most meals Villem ate, but he could not deny there was a certain homey appeal to the food. The old woman spoke to him as they ate.

“Lamazanii is a dangerous place. It is city of fortune and misfortune. It falls on all who enter its gates.”

“Did you see something in particular? A specific misfortune?”

“Whoever whispers secrets in my ears did not so inform me. Only that tragedy awaits the Syanlins in Lamazanii. I was with a villager, I will not say who, when the vision came upon me.” A far away look grew on the old woman's face. “A lion and wolf with golden collar atop a cliff. An eagle watching from above. The beasts circle each-other, each watching, waiting for the other to show weakness, to make a mistake. Suddenly, they lunge at each other. Tooth and claw rip at their bodies, locked in a deathly grapple, until they both tumble from the cliff.” The old woman shook her head and returned to her senses. “I saw not what became of the lion, nor the wolf. Be careful, Villem. That city is evil.”

“I will.”

"Well speak of the devil!" Bjorn shouted with a laugh as stood up a patted Yehalf hard on the back before picking the note off of the table. He quickly maneuvered around the guards who were sitting down in chairs around the main hall. With letter in hand he pushed a few of them out of the way just to make it to Villem. "None of these bastards were making fun of you right!?" Asked Bjorn as he looked around at the guards with his one good eye. As he gazed at the guards they all tried to avoid eye contact, but knowing Bjorn he was joking about beating their asses into the ground. While he was making the guards of comfortable he took note of Villem's question towards Aser. "Oh, what's wrong with him? We had a messenger come into here with a private message." chucked Bjorn, "And instead of some political message of some type it was for you!" Bjorn quickly wrapped his his arm around Villem and held him next to him and presented him the letter. "It seems you got a admirer from the Batunamizi family. Want to fill us in?" Snickered Bjorn as he put the letter into Villem's hand before letting go of him before walking back to his seat next to Yehalf. "You're brother is dying to know how you met." Smiled Bjorn as he down a glass of wine before awaiting an answer like Aser was.

"I'm afraid I will leave my brother wanting," Villem said as his eyes quickly read over the contents of the letter. "He, and you, well know that I do not discuss such matters past what a liaison may communicate herself." Villem folded the letter and carefully placed it in a pocket before looking at his brother. "We have a great affection for one another, brother. For that reason I know I can trust in your discretion on this matter, nor will I ever again find you have read my private letters. Nor freely shared them with others." He turned to Bjorn. "As for you, at times you have a free tongue for gossip. If word of this letter or any possible affair passes your teeth, they will find new home upon the ground. Is there an understanding between us?"

"What does he expect me to wear while were there, of all the.." She mumbled, silently cursing her cousin's actions. She soon snapped her attention back unto the man in front of her.

"What are you waiting for? We shouldn't keep my cousin waiting" She snapped, she pushed passed the man, despite her initial annoyance, she was currently struggling to contain her excitement at the prospect of final seeing the city.

Gods she was annoying, such a pest. Gregory followed the storming woman, picking up his gear that laid to the side of the hallway, his spear, shield and Conventry Sallet helmet. Putting the gear on, he continued to follow the lady, looking to the right to see Orka and Kyiram both chatting away in their gear as they returned to duty, Orka shooting a look at Gregory with a mix of laughter and pity.

"The horses are outside at the gates," Gregory walked quickly to catch up with the brat as he fiddled with his helmet. "We'll ride from her to the Manor of Armour."

She was excited for the city, Gregory could see that. But she was still a responsibility that Gregory had been entrusted with, and he had to keep his responsibility and his emotions in check otherwise Aser would have his head on a pike. Losing this girl to a rival family like the Camasesi, would be destructive. A Syanlin in captivity in the dungeons of a Camasesi member was a thought to shudder at.

Aser Syanlins

Aser rolled his eyes at the two, they were like two old women at the market, always bickering. It was funny to watch, but not to be apart of. As the two began to stop, Aser held his hand up before hugging Villem, patting him on the back.

"Gods you took too long brother," Aser joked with him, releasing him and smiling. "What? Did you fuck half the house's staff and drink all the wine before coming? We'll talk about this Miranda girl later, I want to know about this."

Looking outside, Aser looked back at Yehalf, who stood up. The new Sergeant-at-Arms, who was definitely confident about his abilities. If he could preform better than one of the current Lieutenant Commanders of the Guard, then Aser would promote him to that position in a heartbeat. Throughout the previous month Yehalf had acted as the most recently promoted officer in the Syanlins' retinue, he had probably restored the most order within the two villages that the Syanlins owned and committed most of his time keeping orderliness and discipline in his own detachment. He was a good lad, probably 28 or 27 years old, and was eager, maybe too eager sometimes.

"Right, it's getting late outside and the Little Lady has either run off somewhere in the Manor of Lions and avoided the guards I sent for her, refused to come or is just too stupid to learn how to ride a horse." Aser looked at Villem for advice, it appeared. "Why the hell did we agree to take her into the Manor?"

"My Lord?" Yehalf called out politely as he stood up. "Shall we go?"

"Yeah," Aser huffed in frustration. "We might as well go visit our nephew, the Stallion of Astrogome, Lord Job Syanlins. Gods that's a mouthful, and I have to address him as that."

Muttering to himself, Aser started to walk to the door, the guards who had come with him following him. Pushing the grand wooden doors open, Aser let the warmth of the sun bathe on him before he walked down the steps, nodding to the four levies who had remained there as part of their daily guard duty.

Elisabeth didn't respond to the man's comment and casually made her way towards the gates. Not even glancing at the man behind her, though when she had arrived at her destination her gaze shifted towards the guard, watching him with deep interest as he lugged around with all that metal on his body. "Seeing as we'll be traveling together, I would like to know you name" She paused and sneered at him. "Unless you would to prefer to remain nameless."

Her attention shifted towards the horses and she grinned, making her way towards one and rubbing her hand against it's mane. "If you don't mind, sir, I'll be taking this one" She stated, giving him a pointed look in case he tried to argue with her. They were burning sunlight and she would greatly prefer being in doors than trekking outside in the dark.

The White Viper

The Liongate, the Grand City of Lamazanii
Summer, of 1005 AR
Sigmund Vocanni

Commander Sigmund decided to leave the gate for a moment to get a drink as he was ired.

Sigmund had spent last night his time in a brothel, an establishment which was owned by the Vocanni no less; no wonder why the call them lowborn whoresons. He had known well known of this since a young lad; whenever information was poured in, they always mentioned the Unstrung Bow in the Ponotiria District near the harbour, in his older years, he visited occasonally the wenches there. Now, the sun rose high above the stink of Lamazanii, and the clamour of the streets below woke up Sigmund unfortunately from his deep slumber. He had taken two wenches to bed that night: Aerwen, his favourite, a fragile yet very lusty woman, and Klara, northern barbarian girl black of hear with beautiful demonic red eyes who are saying into you fuck me; her cow name was given because her northern name was unpronancouble. Though young, both Aerwen and Klara had mastered the art of seduction, tending to Sigmund's every want and need such as...<ahem>. He had enjoyed them both, and they enjoyed him too- alot; as if they had a choice because his money is what they wanted. After all, he was the heir to this 'fine' establishment, what was there not to enjoy? He had woken up dazed and confused, but readjusted after a few moments. His head raged a war inside. 'The wine.' He recalled, sipping one arm from another wench though, did I took three, GREAT. He staggered out of the room, a passing unknown plump lord being led down the corridor by another exotic woman, possibly from across the Parasel Sea? or the the Jade into the west?. He walked down the marble staircase and left from the back door at the early morning.

Outside the Unstrung Bow, the Ponotiria District near the harbour
Mere moments later
Sigmund Vocanni

The whole city of was being prepared for the feast and festivities to celebrate His Grace fifteen year reign on the to the throne. From butchers to mummers & hirelings had been called up for service to the House of Commons, thousands had lent their expertises and skills to entertain and host the Duke, his lordly guests & vassals. The outer wards had been scattered with gargantuan silk feast tents to house lesser lords and ladies whilst their servants occupied nearby empty buildings where hasty repairs were made.

Sigmund had followed the old stablehand's directions, "Down the fucking road of the Sisters of Parasel, follow the empty alleys from Liongate and then you will be able to reach your destination from this mess." He had muttered to himself a hundred times and one. The streets and wynds seemed longer than he had anticipated, and increasingly crowded. He past fishmongers and bakers, street urchins and highborn ladies, yet he had no idea where he was, in this city he lived his whole damn life. It was as foreign to him as were the North. He had to ask for directions again several more times before he found himself at the gates to the Ponotiria District, no need to guess where were you, only to see the "majestic" stones which stood vigil at the small gatehouse. Despite this place being ghettos for the underlings of society he noticed lots of lords and middle smallfolk heading to the grounds, finding a city of silk and cloth, marquees, tents, pavilions & shit - lots of shit to be exact and not just from the horses though, all standing high outside the tall walls of the Grand City. It was here where the joust had been set up, and to the other side of the camp the melee arena, a large, circular pit where knights would face one another for fame and glory or better say stupid death he thought as many times they had fight beasts or beastmen, prisoners of war from the north or pit fighters from the both east and west. The Duke had arranged for a separate melee recounting the battle of Stoney Hills when a Camasesi died valiantly against a horde of barbarians all lies, me and Job were there, that fat bastard couldn't sit on a horse and pissed himself and run when he saw the enemy. Only to be found fucked litterally and half dead, he died a few moments later crying for his mother , but that was for tommorow's evenfall. An archery range had been erected at another corner of the city, where competitors trained with bow and arrow and cross Blined Eye should get there hehe. Sigmund hated jousting so he decided to take some time to the pits if he could and watch, he could even make some money from all these as a lot of people will play their money on one foul or another, I will need Job though and maybe the Bastard too, he ain't good for bussiness but he knows weakness. He hoped for noble maidens would flock to his bed. If he failed then he would resume his wenching endeavours. Sigmund Vocanni wasn't reluctant to marry, though he knew he would have to soon, for he was almost thirty but he still needed the right highborn lady.....

It was to be a glorious day: the sun shone blindingly and a cool breeze came from the sea, swept in from the Parasel Sea into the whole city. Their adventure had ended as they arrived to their destination, the Unstrung Bow stood proud as always. The streets here were clean and smell good, the message was clearly resonated in this street through every street, alley, wynd and corridor:We don't want your shit here, pure and simple. The whores weeped for more customers as this were the best day. Despite coming here regularly he never came with his full armor and clean, and for good reason, he wanted to passed unotticed here. Although he wanted to get a good wench he preffered not to,who knows how many times they got penetrated, this situation is too dirty; even for me. He dismissed these naughty thoughs and entered the establishment.

"Why we came to this fucking place, unless you want to get a fist in your face or piss into your mouth...Commander" said Ser Haldon smiling.

"I was hoping to finding your mother here but I can't see her maybe your sister is here?"

Ser Haldon hit him on the back of his head while the other three lackeys - who were city watchmen, laughed at the scene and Sigmund joined the fray and nodded them to stop."Nevertheless, the Cockeater will probably being here accompanying Gratiano's Batunamizi uncles, Solanio & Lorenzo and I wonder what these Hishimoros cunts are doing here, come let's get inside, Liam will be inside"

As he entered he saw that the whole house was full of customers had seated at the benches and finecourses were being served; goats cheese and fig with greens and a thick broth of honeyed ham and saffron served with hearty black bread with vintages to wash them down with. These halls were brimming with life, its patrons ranging from the most gracious, elegant noblelady carefully sipping her wine to the rugged uncouth smallfolk in almost rugged clothes, drinking to their heart’s content on wine, beer and even northern mead. Musicians played soft melodies such as ‘Beauties of the Parasel Sea’ or 'Syanlin & Camasesi Sailors Dance whilst the people revelled in the feasting pranced around the table in motley, making jests about various nobles or commoners in attendance, some making even the most strict harridan laugh which could make you even deaf. Every inch of the city probably being soaking up the festivities such as this as well, with revelers, drunks and whores in & out of the streets; even the whorehouses were filled with patrons, though that was not an unfamiliar sight in a city so large. There were few empty spaces across the 'trestle', though only three remained vacant on the dais next to a serious man with a couple companions.

And there he saw the Olaf Dumbledore and the rest of his targets to the large bar, the previous bartender was killed two moons ago and was replaced by a young lady instead, she was far more better than the old man who always smelled goat and piss; an uneasy alliance of sour smell. Suddenly someone hit him to the back, it was nonetheless Liam Vocanni, another bastard of the house but a loyal retainer of the house. The young lad smiled to his uncle Sigmund."Uncle is great to see you but we must find seats before those pesky Batus see us right?" he said with a mix of sarcasm and seriouness while nodding to Sigmund and his lackeys to follow him. Despite trying reaching the three empty cahirs sound peace and cake it wasn't as they hit all the time someone 'important', although the first two times he ignored it, the third time he used his fist on a priest who was half drown from the wine. The simple bump made the ground a bit moved, hopefully he would end up dead; good thing is that everyone was busy at them moment.

They arrived to the table on the corner, the men seemed to have a serious conversation and promotly stopped when they arrived. Sigmund smiled smirkly towards them men and took a step forward."mind if we sit with ya gentlemen?" the men looked at each other a bit suprised to that questions, probably they thought they would get arrested but before their obvious leader says something he said once again -"Of course you don't, now then you don't have to worry about us about sitting; that can be easily arranged hehe" and he nodded to Liam and Ser Haldon sit on the bench while the other three lackeys "helped" out some other people get up and take their chairs, one of them got a fist on his face and the other had his head hit with a bottle only to end up robbed by the wenches who tahnked them for the courtesy.

They all sat finally. Sigmund wathced his enemies talk, they had their backs streched and their heads down and speaking as if their did a conpiracy. He didn't liked it but you couldn't hear a think, even from the people next to you due to the noise. He muttered a few curses & ordered some goat meat served with beer and not piss, and said:"I am telling you, the Syanlins won't be happy about this" he expected the people who sat next to them won't give two shits about them but they picked their intrest instead. It seemed introductions were in order....

Junitaliaranus the Inquisitive

It had been a rather long day for Junitaliaranus, having first prepared himself to met with his relatives, but after leaving his room he quickly realized that was going to be rather difficult, with the rampant merrymaking in the city. Despite himself, he began to be a bit moved by the merrymaking, bearing one of his rare smiles as he heard the music playing, even if the common rabble were making quite a bit of noise.

He found his loyal retainer standing at his side with a curious expression, silently asking what his young master wished to do. Jun considered it for a moment, it was unlikely that he would be able to make an adequate introduction with his family with the city in the uproar that it was, and he certainly couldn't focus on any of his reading with all of this noise.

"Kalain, I think participating in the merriment might be unavoidable, come let us find a table to seat ourselves at." Jun walked off quickly after his proclamation, missing Kalain's reaction, whatever it might have been.

There were, unfortunately, no tables free of current patrons. HE noted what appeared to be a few highborn men he did not recognize making a fair bit of noise. Rather than risk a confrontation that could sour whatever relations his relatives have in the city, he found a table with a pair of low born men sitting at it.

"Gentlemen, you appear to be using up quite the large table, with just the two of you." Jun icily proclaimed, earned himself a pair of confused glances from the men.

"Oi, an wassit ta you?" A man with one too many teeth missing indignantly asked, setting down his hand of cards.

"Yeah, we's just havin' a game of cards 'ere." The second man, who possessed a respectable amount of teeth, intoned.

"Perhaps you did not catch my meaning." He said as he stepped forward, and picked up one of the discarded playing cards. He idly noted that it was the Knave of Clubs as he held it. "The two of you are going to vacate this table, and allow myself and my retainer to be seated."

His glare sharpened even further as he looked down upon the seated men, his voice filled with ice and steel as he then commanded, "Now leave."

The two men hesitated for just a moment, perhaps to make some indignant remark or start an altercation. However, both of them froze up, halfway out of their seats as they held his gaze. A moment after that, and the two of them were backing away from the table, leaving their cards behind, unnerved by this strange foreigner.

"There, I believe I have found us an empty table Kalain, please, sit." Jun calmly spoke to his retainer, much of the icy fury having left his gaze.

"Ya know sire, ya scare me when ya do that." Kalain replied with a half chuckle.

Jun didn't respond, instead he continued to look over the, perhaps well used, if still complete playing card deck. Eventually one of the wenches came to their table and saw to having their orders for food and wine placed.

Before the wench returned however, a new group of men entered the tavern, a rather interesting lot by the look of them, and Jun found himself casually observing their entrance. One of them appeared to scan the room, gaze lingering upon a few individuals, notably some of the highborn men that Jun had observed earlier. The man soon however led his compatriots over to the table where Jun and Kalain sat.

Jun contented himself to listening to the men speak, as they evidently did not feel him worthy of attention, and Kalain simply kept shifting his gaze between the men and his lord, ready to act if commanded to. When the Syanlins were brought up however, Jun could no longer hold his tongue in check and spoke up.

"The Syanlins, and you would be one to know their desires?" Jun inquired as he shuffled the deck of cards.
