Sealand

The warship drifted to the side port and a gang was ran out, a group of six people walked out. Four Troopers, the captain, and a low level diplomat.

Also we need you to send the decommissioned DKM Guderian, several decommissioned gunboats. Be sure to send a copy of the plans for the Civil War Monitors."

The radioman was surprised but responded anyway. "Uh... sure.... I don't know what you need them for, but don't tell me. You have authority anyway. We'll send everything you need from the ports in Cuba. ETA in 9 hours." Going back to the president, he stated the amount of time it will take to get there. "They'll come soon. In the meantime, are there any restaurants here?"

"We have the mess hall, so we can clear it. "The president said.

London

The city of London was growing both in size and population, some buildings where where on the otherside of the wall. One might think that these buildings might have been attacked by zombies and their occupants killed. However a very large moat was placed around the city and the green space around it, the moat was a mile away form the city and the moat was manned by several guard towers and fortifications on the human side of the moat. Several wood windmills stood within the and outside of the city.

The Comunication Advisor noded again.

"Excellent. Me and my men will go to the mess hall and eat there using our rations."

The commander greeted the crew from the second ship, and escorted them to the war room, where the president was waiting. He saluted the armored guards, and took the crew inside. He then introduced the president.

The president stood and sent the commander outside. His Guards waited and then the president spoke.

"Welcome to Sealand, we hope you enjoy your stay. Now, let's discuss diplomats." And offered his hand to the captain.

Cuban Airspace

"Attention New Greater Germany. This is Commonwealth One. We have President Featherson aboard and request permission to enter airspace with our escort." A large 747 Hybrid was flying towards Cuba with 12 F-16s flying escort.

--Aboard Commonwealth One--
"Mr. President." the Presidents secretary said placing a bottle of water before the President. Jake smiled and nodded his thanks and looked out the window, "The first Commonwealth President to step foot in Cuba." he laughed to himself. His first official state visit. The Vice-Presient was back in RIchmond keeping control.

Richmond, Virginia
"Mad'am Vice-President, a large amount of people are coming through Texas. Going back and fourth. Night traffic has increased over the last few nights. The air patrol units can not control the influx of people." The Secretary of Defense said showing her the report. She nodded, "What does General Mehaffey think?" Secretary Keller handed another report, "Fortify the entire Western border and arm it up." The VP Paige nodded and looked at the report again, "A large drain on the economy of the CSA and man-power." The Secretary nodded, "Featherson wants work on the Panama Canal if its needed. The entire fleet is being mobilized for an operation. More drainage. The Commonwealths home-work is going to be badly drained." Paige smiled, "The north has a larger population. We could hire workers there. And this other country to our South and West. We could hire workers from there, the CSA economy would take a hit as the government would have a huge payment to them, but the manpower would be safer here. We could focus on important projects. Send the diplomats to Washington and get a request sent to C.O." The Secretary nodded and wrote down a short memo. "What about the invasion of Panama?" Paige looked out a window, "Order the troops in. Kill them all." she turned around and smile, "Shoot first. Ask questions later."

Louisiana
More and more ships were arriving. The harbor was filling up with ships. Trains were bringing in troops and vehicles. The port was active as the port was filling with people. Trucks rolled past. Armored personnel trucks rolled past. Cranes were lifting vehicles aboard the ships.

Cuban Airspace

The anti-aircraft gunners didn't know what to do. "Command, we have a government official trying to enter our airspace. Is there a meeting scheduled?" The officer wasn't so experienced, however. "Uh... shoot it! If there's no authorization, then they must be terrorists, ja?" "I'm not going to shoot it, it might be a diplomatic aircraft?" "Shoot, damn it, shoot!" "Dummkopf, who put you in charge anyway?" "I'll have you discharged for insubordination, soldaten!" "Fine, but you're taking the blame!" The soldiers got one burst of fire off before a commander directly stepped in.

"Stop shooting! That is a certified CSA airplane and it has authorization to land!" The officer was embarrassed. "But... I thought..." "You're a disgrace!" The commander then got on with the pilots. "Authorized to land. Proceed to coordinates. Airport is in New Rastenburg." What the commander didn't know was the area wasn't secured, and in fact, was a hotbed for crime.

The ruckus from the Scands immediately tensed up the Submariners, however they quickly relaxed but still at their fingers on their Ak-74s. "You are to follow us to the location. We shall not submerge, and you shall not attempt any action on the Submarine likewise." Just then the hatch opened behind the five men, and two sailors climbed out. "But as per the agreement, you will be coming with us."
Captain Maylshev lowered the periscope. "Alright Comrades, prepare to move out. We shall not submerge, We shall stay surface level. I repeat, we shall stay at Surface level." A short ring rang out throughout the submarine and the crew was preparing operations, even the propeller in the back started to turn.

"Nothing on scope Nikita." Called his wingman over the radio as well.
The pilot ignored his partner's remark and continued the report, "ETA is 10 minutes to Orca."
A voice spoke back, "This is Admiral Kornev to Flanker 01 and Flanker 02. Situation has changed, you are to monitor the Orca to it's approach to coordinates 35, 134 in section 5. It will have an unknown escort. If the Orca gives the signal, you are to open fire on the craft."
"Roger Admiral, Flanker 01 out."

New Byzantine EmpireImage"Imperial Byzantium has rise from the ashes!"

Constantinople, New Byzantine Empire
It is a rainy day in Constantinople, people were walking on the streets in the ruins of Constantinople and some Byzantium engineers were rebuilding the ruin buildings. Byzantine soldiers were patrolling the streets of Constantinople incase there is a terrorist attack or some criminal activities in the capital. Children were playing on the rain and few automobile cars were shown in the streets, running around.

Constantinople Imperial Palace (formerly Istanbul Palace)
An advisor entered the office of the glorious Emperor Julius, the advisor bowed to the Emperor and the Emperor Julius asked, "What do you want, advisor?" and the advisor said, "Sir, our spy on the north has been espionage that he found an another nation called the Croatian Federation." and Emperor Julius said, "Hmm, do they own the Balkans?" and the advisor said, "I think so, my emperor, the spy said that the Croatian Federation didn't own the southern portion of their border yet which it's Montenegro, I suggest that we would take annexed it to our empire before the Federation does." and Emperor Julius replied, "That's a good suggestion. Sent it to General Ursus from the 1st Imperial Byzantine Army to start a settlement from Montenegro, and the advisor replied, "Right on it, my emperor.." and Emperor Julius said, "And, where is the spy that we sent to Caucasia?" and the advisor said, "He espionage Armenia and Azerbaijan, he said that the land is claimed by no one but he didn't espionage Georgia yet." and Emperor Julius said, "Hmm, we will invade that land soon but first, we must focus on our outside border, sent the paper now." and the advisor said, "Right on it, my emperor." and the advisor bowed to Emperor Julius and the advisor leave his office.

Empress Rana saw the advisor leave the Emperor's office and she entered the office, Emperor Julius saw her wife entered his office and the Emperor said, "Honey, what are you doing here?" and Empress Rana said, "Nothing, I just saw your advisor leave your office, is everything okay?" and Emperor Julius said, "No, the Croatian Federation is our Northern neighbour but it's not on our outside border and I think that they are the threat of this Empire." and Empress Rana said, "Then invade the Federation then." and Emperor Julius said, "We cant, we don't establish their relations yet and also the issue is that the southern portion between the Federation and the Empire is claimed by both nations, so we will expand our Empire to northwest to invade that land." and Empress Rana said, "That's good plan, honey, well, I'll go back to the room to check our son Jake." and Emperor Julius said, "Okay, honey." and the Empress leave the office of the Emperor.

Tirana, Albania, New Byzantine Empire
It is rainy day in Tirana just like in Constantinople, rain. People were normally walking on the streets and children are playing on the rain. General Ursus of the 1st Imperial Byzantine Army and his men were marching on the streets of Tirana to reach the city of Koplik for the military exercise, people see the army and the people were pride enough. Tanks were rolling.

Koplik, Northern Albania, New Byzantine Empire
As the 1st Imperial Byzantine Army arrived on Koplik, the military exercise has started while it's raining, General Ursus were looking at the exercise of his men. General Ursus is a most experienced and trusted General in the New Byzantine Empire as Ursus was one of his uncle's great bestfriend.

Many hours later, the rain is still ongoing and it is night, the soldiers were either making fun of each other, guarding the base, or take some sleep in their tents. A soldier entered the tent of General Ursus and the soldier saluted to the General and General Ursus said, "What do you want, soldier?" and the soldier said, "Sir, here is the letter that came from Emperor Julius." and General Ursus, "Emperor Julius?" and the soldier said, "Yes, sir." and then the soldier give the letter to General Ursus, he saluted and leave the tent. General Ursus read the letter and the letter said:

To: General Ursus of the 1st Imperial Byzantine Army
From: Emperor Julius

"General Ursus. This is my uncle's nephew, Emperor Julius, I have a mission from your men. You will invade Montenegro with the other army because someone claimed Montenegro, and this someone is the Croatian Federation, we must invade Montengro before the Federation does. You will start your invasion tomorrow morning, don't fail me, sir, Montenegro is one of our claimed territory."

After General Ursus read the letter, he said, "Hmm, Julius, I will not fail this mission because this is for the Empire and for your uncle." and then the General puts the letter on the table, he blow out the candle and take a sleep for the tomorrow's mission.

Off FGR Coast

Hrolf scowled as the marines dragged him over to the snooty Frenchman. His Lieutenants, mostly so in a very unofficial capacity, shortly followed. Ragnvald, Floki, Svendsen and Emmanuel were lined up besides him. Niether one of the latter two were technically lieutenants aboard the Blodige, but they were his precious aces, and he rather suspected he would have to play both soon.

The Dane glowered up at the Frenchman. His name was Favager, apparentely, but Hrolf made a mental note that, as long as he breathed, the man would simply be known to him as Bastard.

"What do you want, Bastard?" He finally growled.

Off Norwegian Coast

Ostberg nodded. "Very well, I'll be right up." He climbed over the side of the little boat and landed deftly on the sub's rounded exterior. He spoke rapidly in Norwegian to his comrades, who, after some hesitation, manuvered the craft away from the sub and back towards the Vasa. He watched them speed off before he began to ascend the conning tower's exterior ladder.

OOC:
Moscow, are the helicopters meant to be yours or mine?

Tromso

A great hornblast echoed off the walls of the fjord as the small fleet pulled out of port. It would've been much simpler if a sailor had simply sounded a foghorn to announce the expedition's departure, but there was something intimately primeval and ancient about a natural blast. It was sound that had not been heard in the north of Europe for over a thousand years-at least not for the same purpose.

Admiral Hans Holmqvist stood on the bridge of the frigate Sudreyjar as it cruised out the fjord alongside its fellow frigates the Nordreyjar and Danelaw. Off to port stalked the subs Ula and Utsira. The transport ships Mule and Fairhair lagged somewhat behind, laden with five hundred Scandinavian marines and sufficient supplies, including several amphibious landing vehicles.

The Swedish Admiral surveyed the bridge inside his own flagship. The officers here were young, eager to prove their worth. Greenland wasn't exactly as coveted or as exotic as 19th century Africa, and thusly no one, including Holmqvist, really expected to be one component of a colonial race for it. However, what exactly they would find was something up for debate. North America's status was entirely unknown, but the last reports had been as gloomy as anywhere else in the world.

Holmqvist turned to Steig Frederiksson, one of his most able lieutenants. "Lieutenant Frederiksson, set course for Cape Farvel please."

"Aye Admiral, plotting a course for Cape Farvel now."

Holmqvist beamed as the fjord's entrance to the open sea stretched out like a great maw before the fleet. It was good to be back at sea, as always."

Off FGR Coast

Favager was at first surprised by the way he was addressed before his face became blank again. "You seem to have forgotten our rules..." the Commander trailed off as he gestured for Herbert to act.

First the lieutenant grabbed the Dane and roughly spun him around before delivering a hard blow to the man's face with his fist. Then he lifted him up again and forced the man to watch as two of his men picked a man from his crew and took him to the side of the ship. One of the men held the crewman by the back of his shirt so he his head and upper torso were over the railing and face the water. The second prepared his sidearm before he leaned over the side slightly so that the pistol was lined up with the side of the crewman's head.

"You choose this course Captain." Favager said as a shot rang out. The first German let go of the crewman's shirt and the the crewman plunged over the side. The two men then returned to watching over the rest of the crew.

It caused a stir, but the thirty some armed guards around the Crew were able to restore order fairly quickly. One German seebattalion men explained to them what happened, acting as a translator for Hauptbootsmann Schneck. "Your Captain broke one of our rules and you men suffered for it. He understood this and still went along and broke a simple rule. Now I will have order from you lot. Anyone who complains or attempts anything will be shot. If we cannot identify the man, then it falls to you to point out the man or we will shoot whoever was in the area where we heard his voice."

Herbert turned the Captain to look back at Favager. "We could have done this like civilized men, but now we will do it the hard way. Since I have taken control of your ship you will now address me as either Captain or sir and you will only speak to answer my questions. Anything else will another of your men a bullet, and this time it will be one of your lieutenants. Do we have an understanding?"

In the background, Favager saw the helicopter landing and the new crew of the ship getting off. He had Kauffmann herd the refugees over to the helicopter while the crew man dispersed throughout the ship, ready to take up new duties on the vessel until it got to port. It was only a matter of time before the ship was on it's way back to Rostock. He would let the crew set up in peace while he handled the pirates. No reason to strech himself too much when it was not needed.

Rome, Italy
The capital of the Vatican Empire was heavily militarized, but free like the years before the plague. The Papal Guards protects the Pope whenever someone tries to murder him. Rome was just like in the Renaissance.

Valetta, Malta
Valetta was militarized and much fortified due to possible plague incidents soon to happen. The Vatican military protects Malta at any cost.

New Byzantine EmpireImage"Imperial Byzantium has rise from the ashes!"

Koplik, Northern Albania, New Byzantine Empire
The rain came to an end. The sun shines in Koplik where General Ursus' and his men settle down on the military base.

General Ursus' wake up and dressed up as a military General, he grab his equipment and leave his tent, when he go outside, he sees the soldiers are eating from the breakfast and Ursus' knew that they are prepared. General Ursus takes a breakfast also and many soldiers saluted to him.

When it is 7:50am, General Ursus' alerted all of his men and mobilize his men which consist 100,000 forces as they are an 1st Imperial Byzantine Army, the 2nd-5th Imperial Byzantine Army had arrived to join General Ursus' invasion to Montenegro. General Ursus starts to make his speech and he said, "Hello, men, today, we are here in Koplik, I tell you why we are here, our Emperor Julius had ordered the first batch of the Imperial Byzantine Army (1st to 5th) to start an invasion to Montenegro, this is not a drill my men, this drill is a real thing, we will invade because there are many reasons; our claimed lands, resources, and this..Croatian Federation! Today we are an imperialist right? We will do imperialism a right way! Today, we will march to Montenegro through victory, understand comrades!?" and all of the first batch of the Imperial Byzantine Army soldiers said, "Yes, sir!" and General Ursus shouted, "Alright, let's move out!" and General Ursus lead the 1st-5th Imperial Byzantine Army to invade Montenegro, the soldiers are marching, and tanks were rolling to Montenegro. The invasion of Montenegro has just begun.

Podgorica, Montenegro
The Imperial Byzantine Army of the first batch has arrived on Podgorica. Podgorica is the capital of Montenegro, near the borders of the Second Byzantine Empire. It was abandoned but a city of the undead, hundreds of thousands of dead bodies were in the streets of Podgorica, General Ursus was disgusted from this bodies and General Ursus ordered the soldiers saying, "1st Army, patrol the streets, 2nd army, check the buildings, 3rd army and 4th army remove this damn bodies on the streets and 5th army stay here!" and all of the soldiers said, "Aye, aye, sir!". The flag of Imperial Byzantine has just risen in a city hall ruin by the 2nd army. There is also a helicopters flying in the skies of Podgorica.

Turkey-Cyprus water border, near North Nicosia, Meditterenean Sea

Off FGR Coast

Hrolf tried to stand and lurch forward before Svendsen and Floki pulled him back. A verbal struggle ensued during which the captain roared curses in Danish. After a minute or two Svendsen's efforts seemed to calm him down.

Finally, the Navy lieutenant dug into his coat pocket and removed an ID card, complete with his name and face, and various personal details. He offered it to the Frenchman. "Lieutenant Osvald Svendsen, Scandinavian Navy. You probably should've done a bit of research before you decided to board the Blodige Frelser and halt a mission sanctioned by Lord Protector Bjarni Halfdansson himself."

Emmanuel watched, gritting his teeth. Eventually he spoke up as well. Most of the marines were clearly German, so he opted for that language. ""Einigkeit macht stark," he said, in fluent but somewhat rusty German. "Unity through strength, Belgium's motto. If there are any Belgians here, let them bow before Prince Emmanuel Leopold Guillaume Francois Marie, of the House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, second in line to the throne of Belgium."

Somewhere outside Sarajevo. Late evening.

The place was absolutely perfect for their little "interrogation" or better torture someone else would have called it. The man was captured near a military base of the local reservist forces, his name was Kostas Smaragdenios but was jokinly called by the intelligence services by the code name "Osman". The sun was slowly decending and the usual curfew was put on effect as it did in daily practise for 20 years now.

Osman was tied up with some wire on a wooden chair, his white T-shirt had become red as he was covered by blood - his blood to be exact. The man was being questioned for two days now, refused both sleep and food but gave him plently of water which was used to drown him as well. That very man had changed considerably these hellish two days, his eyes were black around while his jaw had big wound with blood still flowing alongside half his teeth were missing. The man couldn't even move his head from his tireness and who could blame him? Well the agents could and for a very good reason.

Adolf von Kessler was sitting on the opposite side of the table, he was dressed with a full black uniform of the DOS - the Federation's secret services, the man who reorganized them was a former nazi war criminal and a notorious member of the Gestapo on which the DOS was heavily influenced. Their very motto is based on the Gestapo's effieciency: Few but Effective, which was quite true if you think about it as they had to adjust their methods on a small personell with a medium budget. Adolf coldy looked at them man with pity as this very person has wasted alot of their time, which precious time could have been used somewhere else productively. The police couldn't question him right for these two days but Adolf got him 'straight' into the line in just mere hours. The room was dark and it smelled dust and fungus as it was abandoned for some time before being used by the DOS until well now. Adolf, was an Austrian working for the Federation for almost 20 years now, ever since the US nuked heavily Wien - the Austrian people where on dissaray as most of them perished that day on 2016, the few survivors asked from the Federation to annex their villages adn towns so that can be saved by marauders and foreigners who poised themselves as refugees. That very man used that tactic as well but he will regret it soon enough, very soon to be exact.

He opened his lighter and lighted the cigaratte, he inhaled a large quantity of smoke and exhaled on Osman's face which made him starting to cough heavily as every cough was hurting him due to his recently missing teeth. Adolf grabbed a crosant and at it in front of the man which made him cry, he ate it all and enjoyed every piece of that sweet crosant. He pushed the button a light opened on the man's face; blinding him.
"So tell me my most dear Osman..." and Adolf approached the man's face but he could see him due to the light:"What else do you hide us hmmm?" said with a sarcasm tone while inhaled and exahled smoke once again.

Osman was coughing heavily,"Please if I tell you they will kill me.." the man begged and started to cry.

"You are already a deadman either way my friend, the thing is; how do you want to die" he asked with a rather natural authorative tone, Adolf started to lose his patience with the man."I know you had concirators and I need those names and I NEED THEM NOW" Adolf shouted hitting the table, hard while his shout echoed the entire room hard as it was small; some birds stopped howling as they probably got scared from the rather awful noise.

"If I tell you, you promise me giving sanctuary..."

"We both now that this cannot be done, but we could throw you on safe zone into Hungary for the rest of your days or at least until the Federation's army liberates the area."

"It's still better than nothing I guees but my family--" the man was cut short as Adolf got the cigaratte on his open wound on the jaw making the man scream, he didn;t like beng played with such dramatism.

Suddenly a man appear from the door behind, he informed Adolf that they founded another associate with all the information the need, all the Byzantine spy ring would be annihilated as in police state such as this you cannot ask lousy questions or making bold moves because you will get sucpicions. Adolf got up and thanked Osman and shot him on the head with his Tokarev, a small smoke was getting out of that hole from his head while his face had a shocked expression written on it. Adolf ordred all prisoners if they were found with their right evidence will be put into torture such as flaying, a rather notorious but a delicacy from Croatia's medieval history on how they treated the Ottomans POW's....

Somewhere on the southern Adriatic.

Commodore Dmitar Kjuletic was viewing with his binoculars the Montenegrin coast, reports were critical and not good as they were informed that large number of this so-called Byzantine army soliders passed through the former Albanian-Montenegrin border. The FBS Caio Duilio (D 554), formely belonging to the Italian Navy but was taken after a raid; was overlooking the coast constantly.

Their watchful eye wouldn't let anything slip out as they were ordered to do so. It has been noticed that few days ago these neo-ottomans as the Federation calls them has moved out to Podgorica and takeover the eastern parts of the city but their movement will be stalled and for good reason as the Federation air force alsmost 20 years back had bombed every single bridge when the city fell so that biters can be trapped and eventually die out or beter rot until they can no longer move due to starvation. The same tactic was being followed on western and northern Montenegro where they bombed every bridge while clearing our the infected with for easier control but it was a double edged knife as the people within those safe zones coduln't contact one another and many warlords raised into these regions by creating their own fiefdoms which to this day have no communication iwht the outside world; these particular areas are now covered under a thick forest which is called Crna Gora or also called Black Forest.

Dmitar was watching still with his binoculars, the ports were in half good condition but heavily infested with the undead, a threat that had to be end as he was tasked to bomb the few remaining ports back the stone age so that the forest can reclaim those lands while the undead would be eradicated. Heavy rainfalls will prevent forest fires and they will deny those ports to the neo-ottomans. Dmitar took his radio:This is the Federation navy does anybody read? no asnwer apparently, the citizens there were smart and left long ago, those ports were the vey image of decedance after the combat engineers blew up those damn bridges. If there is anybody can hear please anwer now! he said once again but yet no asnwer still. Maybe the man or men who listened didn't want to answer.

Dmitar looked to his crew and nodded to give message to the missile ships and the submarines that they were ready to torch the ports, if the Federation couldn't have them; then neither the undead should and especially a potential enemy.... the ports where cleansed in a hell of fire which would be lit out soon enough by the rain but whe those neo-ottomans learn of this they would be frigthened from this very event. The message was clear, if you don't inform the Federation for your intents then they will make sure showing their military prowess as a clear essage that they don't mess around......

A group of soldiers escorted them to the mess hall. Once they arrived, one handed a slip of paper to the officer in charge. The commanding officer then stood and hollered.

"Clear the mess hall, and leave it clean. You have five mikes to be on deck prepaired for drilling. If your late, it's thirty push-ups, per minute!" Then the officer marched to the deck.

The leader of the soldiers then said:
"Shout if you need anything. We'll be back in thirty minutes." And noded to the group.

The cook was still in the kitchen prepairing food for the next group of soldiers. Chopping up carrots and making bread. He would secretly listen in of course.

Off FGR Coast

Favager merely laughed at both attempts. "You!" He said pointing to Svendsen, "Are not in uniform and did not identify yourself until after we boarded and your ship is illegally in GFR waters and are engaging in illegal activities in our waters. And you attempt to justify all of that by bringing up the name of some foreign authority whose name I don't care for in the lease? I am well within my rights to brand you a spy and saboteur who has lost all protections of the Geneva convention. Over there." He pointed and two of the seebattalion dragged the man over to the left of the group for further interrogation latter. The man was thrown to the side with rifles pointed at him.

"And you!" He pointed to the so called prince, "have no proof of who you say you are and even if you did, your nation is long dead with no former Belgians in this group to even care about you. The monarchy died when Flanders joined the Kingdom of Netherlands and Wallonia was rightfully returned to France. Your claims of anything are null. Over there." He pointed in the opposite direction of where Svendsen was taken. Duetifully, another two members of the seebattalion grabbed the "prince" and dragged him to the right. The Prince was likewise thrown to the side and given a pair of rifle barrels to stare at.

Favager finally returned his attention to the pirate captain. "Now then, will you answer my questions or do you have more attempts to salvage this?" He offered himself one more laugh. "What you fail to understand is that these are our waters, I don't care which foreign dignitaries you might have on board, the only ones that matter are the ones who control these waters. You could bring the Pope out for all I care and nothing would change. Illegal is illegal. Perhaps when we arrive at Rostock you'll be able to do something about it, but until then, the only law that matters is that of my Captain and he is fully allowing me to do this. So I will ask you a question and I expect one answer, nothing more, nothing less. Are we clear, pirate?" Favager spit out the last word with all the venom he could muster.

Hrolf stared daggers at the Frenchman. So, he supposes he won't start a war? Confident fellow. Still, as long as there were German guns on board he wasn't in a great position to drive that point home to this idiot. "Aye, clear as day, sir. What is it you want?"

Hrolf shrugged. "Take it to Odense, or perhaps Malmo and selling it, whichever offered better prices. Families need these supplies. The looted weapons we don't sell, instead dividing it up among the crew. The thralls would be sold to interested Jarls in either port, to whichever man offered a better price when we auction them off. These are nice strong, young ones, so more likely than not they would've ended up in the fields, or perhaps the docks. Oh, and the bear would go to Aarhus for the arena."

Along the Norwegian Coastline, Heading Northwestern
The ladder led down into a small square room. As the Scand entered the Submarine, the five men and sailors went below as well and the hatch was closed. Just than the loudspeaker spoke, "Vnimaniye , tovarishchi . Eto kapitan Malyshev . Podgotovka k v"yezdu zakazov." The siren went off in the submarine and a few noises were heard coming from the back. As Boris got off the ladder, he approached the Scand. "You are follow me to Helm, Captain Maylshev wants to speak to you." They walked down a short corridor, towards the helm which took no more than 2 minutes. The submarine was dimly lighted, with light fixtures over certain consoles or areas. The party even passed a few crewmen who momentarily looked away from their duties to take a good luck at the Scand. The helm room was a small rectangular room with consoles to the side and a center platform with its own console and periscope. Captain Maylshev turned to face the visitor. "YA kapitan 3 ranga Dmitriy Malyshev Severnogo flota. Eto priyatno vstretit'sya s vami." He extended his hand towards the Scand. Boris turned towards the visitor. "The Captain says, I am Captain 3rd Rank Dmitry Malyshev of the Northern Fleet. It is a pleasure to meet you."
You know that oil platform that reported the Fleet's position before? That is the rig those helicopters are heading towards. (My own helicopters)

Off the coast of FGR

“That is all for now.” Favager said as he gestured for the three to be led away. They were taken to a room below the bridge where they would be kept separate from the crew. Kauffmann’s unit was put in charge of guarding them.

Favager went directly to the bridge. The crewmen of the Sachsen-Anhalt had already taken up their positions and were just waiting on him.

“Orders Captain?” The new helmsman, Behrends, asked.

“Follow the Sachsen-Anhalt back to Rostock, steady as she goes.” Favager responded. It was not quite what he pictured his first command being.

“Aye aye, sir.” Behrends replied.

Rostock, Federal Germanic Republic

“Steady,” Favager told Behrends as the younger officer steered the ship into port, though the caution was unneeded.

For his part, the lieutenant only responded with a calm, “yes sir.”

The captured ship docked next to the Sachsen-Anhalt. Captain Frei and a platoon of MPs were waiting for the ship to to dock. Favager nodded to the MPs as they boarded the ship to collect the prisoners.

“Well done Commander, well done.” Frei said as he clasped an arm onto Favager’s shoulder.

“Just doing my job sir.” Favager responded

“Of course, I have contacted Admiral Kruse and he is quite interested in meeting you.”

“I am honored sir.”

“As you should be, it is not everyday that a Commander meets the head of the Federation Baltic Fleet.”

“Did he say what it was about?”

“No, but you can ask him. He is right there.” Frei pointed to the end of the docks and sure enough, a man in an admiral’s uniform was waiting for them. The two hurried up to meet the man.

Admiral Volker Kruse was still an imposing figure, even in his late fifties. He was perhaps 190 cm and toward over most men, Frei and Favager included. The two younger officers saluted the admiral.

Kruse responded with a short salute before he immediately began speaking. “Captain, Commander, I must say, interesting report. A pirate ship, a foreign officer, and a seemingly dead prince of a dead nation. An...impressive haul to say the least.”

“Thank you sir.” Frei and Favager responded at almost the same time.

“I have already begun making calls to see what we can salvage from this deal.”

“Sir?” Favager asked, confused.

“I doubt the Scandinavians will just let such valuable people die for a petty crime such as piracy. But if they want them back, then they are going to have to pay. A big price.”

“I see…” Favager said unsure.

Kruse patted the Frenchman’s shoulder. “I know it seems wrong and I do not like it either, but if we can guarantee the protection of the Federation and it’s prosperity, then all the better for us.”

“Oh, that makes sense.” Favager said, more reassured.

“I can guarantee that if they want anyone back then they will have to make big promises, more than that one ship and crew will ever be worth, to us anyway.”

“Of course.” Favager said, understanding the wisdom in Kruse’s words.

“Glad you understand. I have used some back channels to spread word of who we have. We haven’t offered any demands, but we have said are willing to negotiate releases.”

“What do you think we will get?” Frei asked.

“Who knows? The diplomats that I have spoken to have said that the deal will probably come down to us being allowed to hang the Captain, the rest of the crew being set free and some deals about them never coming back. But that is just what they believe is likely, if we have anyone else that is worth something on that crew or depending on valuable the prince or lieutenant is, we may get more.” Kruse said.

“And the ship?” Favager asked, pointing the the converted Icebreaker.

“What about it?” Kruse smiled, “It was captured in our waters breaking our laws. As far as we are concerned, it is ours now. It has three fates: service in the Federation Navy, being sold to a private group, or being scrapped for metal. At any rate, it will be sent to Kiel along with an escort, probably your ship, Frei. There the dockworkers can figure out how much it would cost to refit. Whatever happens, you’ll be rewarded for the capture.”

“Thank you, sir” both men said.

“Well anyway, I think your men have earned shore leave, I’ve sent word with an aid. The Military Police can handle the pirates, and I need you two to report to my office for drinks.” Kruse added in the last part with a smile.

Frei and Favager looked at each other before they spoke in unison, “Sir, yes sir!”

“Wonderful, let’s go.” The three officers made their way to the Admirals office. The pirates were sent to the base stockade under the watchful guard of the MPs. The refugees were taken to an off base hospital where the Federation politicians could handle them. And the crew of the Sachsen-Anhalt went off to get drunk, several ending up in the stockade with the pirates they captured over the course of the night.

Malmo

The towering bulks of the Scandinavian Baltic Fleet made ants out of the men who strode down the quay inspecting them. Eventually they reached the edge, where across the harbor a new frigate was under construction. A light drizzle peppered the quay with droplets of rain, not that it was something unusual for the region, and not that Bjarni Halfdansson was the sort of man to care.

"That's the Great Cnut, there. We expect to have her finished in six months time." Johan Hansson, the Chief of the Confederate Intelligence Service (CIS), addressed Bjarni Halfdansson, Lord Protector of the Confederacy.

"Very good, Johan, very good. Of course, since contact with the British and the quasi-independent Russian Fleet, most of our shipbuilding resources will be devoted to the Western Fleet, but we must be vigilant of the Baltic as well."

Hansson nodded. "Of course, Lord Protector . . . but since you mentioned the Baltic, we have received some interesting buzz from the Federation of late."

"Oh? And what might that be, Johan?"

"In short, the Federation has captured one of our better raiding ships, the Blodige Frelser, and imprisoned the entire crew in the port of Rostock. Worse, the captain, Hrolf Steel-Arm, is the brother of Jarl Sigmund Olsen. House Olsen will assuredly pull us headfirst into a war with the Federation should anything befall Hrolf. The Federation has, however, rather indirectly stated its willingness to negotiate."

Bjarni pursed his lips, deep in thought. "Hmm. Find me Jarl Markus Steffensen of Jylland. We'll need someone of great authority to do the talking. He's the only Christian Jarl in the entire Confederacy, one of the more level-headed and probably the least likely to stab a Federation diplomat through the eye when the latter makes some incorrect assumptions about Odin knows what."

Johan bowed. "It shall be done, Lord Protector"

Aarhus

Markus Steffensen shot up in bed as a knock sounded at the door to his bedroom. He glanced at his clock. Three AM. Strange hour. Rubbing his eyes, he tugged open the door. Outside stood a smartly dressed Navy officer in his parade blues. He offered the Jarl a thin vanilla file. "Time to study up, Jarl Markus."

Near Rostock, 12 Hours later

An NH90 Helicopter hovered over the Baltic Sea just outside the Federation port of Rostock. Inside sat Jarl Markus, his steward Erik Falk, and a half dozen marines.

The pilot maneuvered the helicopter towards the city. He quickly addressed the craft's radio. "This is a helicopter from the Scandinavian Confederacy. I have aboard Jarl Markus Steffensen, here to negotiate the release of some prisoners. Requesting permission to land in Rostock, over."

Orca
OOC: Right, thanks

Ostberg smiled, and shook the captain's hand. "Very nice to meet you, captain. I am Petty Officer Jens Ostberg, Scandinavian Navy." He tried for some dark humor. "I hope you won't have to shoot me later."

SNS Vasa

Jakobsen listened from the bridge as the three returned sailors gave their report. At first, he was a little angry that Ostberg had just removed himself from his command with a simple promise, but a second later he was touched. It was true they didn't really have anything to offer when the Russians asked how it was possible to trust them. The Petty Officer's spur of the moment pledge was probably the only real card the man had been equipped to play. And the Russians had agreed to meet, so he wasn't complaining.

"Very well," he addressed the bridge. "Follow them at a fair distance. And inform Jarl Andersen . . nicely."
