Erde could help sigh as she watched Leonard suddenly disappear. She had though she heard some loud unbearably high pitched scream assault her from behind but the fight was more fun so she had already blocked most of it out with adrenalin. With a small click of her tongue as she tsked in a way full of annoyance. She slowly then watched her swords fade into dust and scatter in the wind until they disappeared entirely.
However she did her best to save the explosive blades as she let the claymores fall around them as they punched and smashed like glass into the ground around them until they too faded like dust and blew away in the wind leaving nothing but the solid crystals and ground dust behind as she quickly made them fade away until nothing was left.

As Reina turned once more back to Erde and spoke Erde watched intently at were she placed her weapons and lightly smiled feeling the ongoing rain falling around them.

"To answer your question; I would like knowledge. Both about how to become stronger, and just what it is you're up to. I might be interested after all."

Erde smiled lightly and closing her eyes and then spoke as she opened them to look onto Reina with a clam but cold stare. As she held out a finger in a no no no fashion. Saying silently that even thought she wanted knowledge there was no way she was going to give her everything just as simply as that.

"Knowledge... well then... since you entertained me i'll break my rules and give your two question's the answers you seek.
One how to become stronger... well that's no easy feat the simple answer is to spend time and be diligent while gaining experience, but I know such an answer is... not the one you seek, so the real question actually becomes how do I gain the strength to become stronger... and my answer to that is still unchanged... make a true ally who you can trust your back too.

Not me obviously, since like you I'd be liable to place a dagger in your back with a smile and watch you explode...
and that's just for fun... make a friend Reina that is your only option... The power of two will always destroy the power of a singular that's why you huntress's and huntsmen work in teams...

As for just what it is i'm up too... well in simple terms... i'm hear to test those baby birds you have cooped up in that nest over there..."
said Erde as she lightly pointed towards beacon behind her.
"Of course that isn't the only goal... but it's the one my master currently gave me to accomplish, I'm to gauge their strength and if their to weak to survive...
Cull them...
I can't really say it would be a job... fit for someone of your caliber even if you'd be efficient at it...
afterall that list also extends to everyone be they civilians or huntsmen... which mans you would have to potentially cull your own lover... could you really do that Reina-chan... kill the one you love in cold ruthless blood like a mad man?"

Ning and Sirina

Ning watched as Togami got up and started heading off. He threw a small rock at Sirina and motioned towards Togami, and started to follow him. Sirina followed as well. Ning caught up to Togami and noticed that he was using his weapon to help him stay up.

"Togami. Do you need any help?" Ning asked as he moved along beside him.

Lucas stretched again and fell face first into his pillow, and while muffled he said,

"Well, night guys, tell me when it's morning if I am still out, kay?"

And he went completely silent as thoughts filled his head before he fell asleep
"That was too much, absolute luck I called it off when I did, I can feel sweat from trying to maintain it..."

"Why did that even happen, I wasn't thinking about summoning a storm but it started coming in, I could feel it after those two woke us up, that could have ended very differently in a couple of seconds."

And then he entered his deep sleep, now effected by exhaustion from the involuntary storm he had summoned earlier.

"I'm fine-fine." Togami said crankily before pulling his weight off the axe and putting it on his back. His posture became artificially erect along the spine and his steps were confident and at the same time graceful. Don't fall. Don't fall. He silently commanded himself in spite of the exhaustion that plagued him.

Theriam felt his guilt crawling on his back.

I didn't think about it, I hope you'll forgive me.
Now, I have to stand up and try to find Leonard.
If I don't within three days, I'll die from cardiac arrest in a literal bloody agony.
And since I can't leave you, I'll find him.
So I can live on to be by your side, so you don't have to be alone anymore." He felt like he was going to have a bad time.

There it was again... that feeling.

'I'm sorry. I didn't think about it, I hope you'll forgive me.'

'I can't leave you.'

'So I can live on to be by your side...'

'You don't have to be alone anymore.'

It felt so wrong... these weren't words she understood.

And yet she did.

How?

How?!

She sighed.

"Come on then, baka, no dying for you."

Theriam stood up, still having some trouble standing, but for now, it was alright, albeit being pale, he looked perfectly fine otherwise, his stance made nothing go through.
He flashed a light smile at the girl as she spoke again.

"Alright then, I'll just have to be healed by Leonard again, nothing much.
If anything, he can do it like last time and make me use the Ripple by punching me in the lungs, it worked last time.
I'm sure I won't die now however.
I have too much things to take care of, such as taking care of my hyperactive brother, Ether and Aria, that is still a huge Yandere at times." He explained shortly, stretching and making most of his back crack a bit.

"In a word, yes, I could. I could do anything with the proper motivation."
She frowns.
"In the short time between becoming a Huntress and becoming a teacher here, I took the time to take a look at the world which we live in. It can't be fixed, rebuilt or replaced, maybe, but not fixed as the way it is. A forest restores itself the fastest after it is burnt, growing from the remains of what came before. I'd prefer to avoid having to kill Vic, but somethings are unavoidable if people refuse to cooperate."
Reina then breaks into a grin.
"And the life of a terrorist has already been ingrained into me. It won't be very hard to fall back into it."
"I don't know everything, just the things I know"

She smiled. She was happy.

For the first time in a long time, what felt like forever, she had a friend. A real friend.

Isn't that what you thought about Adrian? All those chess games after school, companionable silence with books, and then... The other girls saw it before you did. Do you remember how they hated you?

They hated anyone he bothered to talk to.

That's because they thought he was good-looking.

Was he? I never noticed.

Why am I not surprised?

Anyway, it won't happen with Theriam. You heard what he said.

And you actually believed him... your stupidity, it's hilarious. I almost feel sorry for you. Almost.

'Good grief, that fucking guy is like cancer.' He sighed shortly, walking alongside Charlotte.

"We should get back to our dorm rooms I guess, no point in staying in the corridors.
Unless you want to stay a bit, which I wouldn't mind at all." Theriam suddenly said, breaking the silence that had slowly settled.

"I don't mind staying outside, I mean, camping is like a second nature for me."

Once they reached the spot, she lay back and stared up at the sky.

She was always impressed by the stars. At first, she could only see a few of them, but as she kept looking, more appeared, dimmer, but still there, thousands of them.

10 years prior

Blood. It trickled down her head from where her skull was slammed against the wall. The embrace of the metal floor felt lovely. Anastasia never wanted to move again, or look into the seething face of daddy once more. Unfortunately, she wouldn't have such a luxury as the firm grasp of her father pulled her up from exhaustion and he placed Anastasia's bow into her hands once more.

"You've been lazy with your practice, and your form needs improvement." He stated matter-o-factly.

"I trust you realize that you are the my only child, and that the legacy of the Valenhart family rests on your shoulders. All that we once were and will become will be your burden to bear. It is you that will either let our name fade into the annals of history, or return us to prominence. Will we be forgotten, as the Schnee dust company becomes the de-facto royalty of this world?" Frederick Valenhart informed his daughter in a neutral tone.

"I'll be damned to see us erased because of any 'relaxed parenting' on my part." He finished as he returned to his starting area. He motioned for her to try once more in hitting him with the arrows. Anastasia could only nod sadly.

"Yes...daddy."

5 Years Prior

Anastasia looked longingly outside the windows of her bedroom. The Valenhart manor was fairly seperated from the rest of Vale's outskirts, a large stone wall rising high with the only entrance being a golden gate. From here on the second floor, Anna was able to spot swathes of children playing in the street with each other. Some had animalistic features as well, but this didn't come as a surprise. Father had a few Faunus servants among his working staff. Whatever their position, Anna's father had done his best to instill an idea of tolerance within her. Anna's great grandfather, Wilhelm Valenhart, had been a staunch racist and did very well in pushing many Faunus away from the cause of the crown royalists.

In the matter of the children, Anna couldn't help but release a depressed sigh. They all looked like they were having so much fun down there, but Father was very intent on keeping her identity as unknown as possible. Better to avoid assassination attempts on the only Valenhart heir no? As much as this might of been for her own protection, Anna felt a dull ache in her heart as she witnessed the joy she would never be able to take part in.

How...frustrating.

1 Year Prior

"I have taught you all I can at this point. I believe you are fully prepared to take the next step in restoring us to, if not power, respect. I have watched you grow and mature into a fine young lady, and I have no doubt you'll make me proud." Her fathers was in his early fourties now, but the strain of managing the affairs of the disgraced Valenhart family had weighed on him for many years. Currently, Anastasia was kneeling to her father as he showered her in compliments, It felt extremely out of place.

"That is why for what comes next, I will be sending you away. To Beacon academy. For the sins of the father cannot be stained to his daughter if she was ignorant of the matter." He finished. Anna was confused, but she truly hoped that what he was suggesting was just her overactive imagination. For what purpose was she to become a huntress? What credentials did she have?

"Father....I promise I'll restore honor to our name. I'll make sure that 'Valenhart' is no longer associated with repression, but with us. As the people we are, and not the monsters we are portrayed as." Anastasia declared firmly. Frederick grinned and smiled at his daughter before firmly grasping her shoulder. No longer in contempt, but in his eyes shone the visage of a proud father.

"I know."

Present Day

Exploring the grounds of Beacon academy was refreshing after a long session of training. Without father here to keep her in step with her abilities, it fell to Anastasia to look after herself. Team training sessions were preferred however, especially given the potential for friendly interaction it allowed amongst each other.

"I never would of thought that I was missing out on all this..." Anna muttered to herself amidst reminiscing about all the times she was forced to observe the children outside. The smallest bit of resentment crept its way into her heart towards her father, but she dismissed it. He did what he thought was best, she could hardly fault him for it. She had plenty of time to make the most of her life now, and damn anyone who tried to stop her. A brief rumbling from her stomach interrupted Anna's train of thought and she grinned.

"Well...I'm quite famished." She practically yelled, giving her left arm a good 'crack' as she stretched, and began walking to the cafeteria.

Weeks later…

Jackson took a deep breath as he gazed at the Emerald Forest before him. Indeed, the cliff was magnificent, with the forest stretching as far as the horizon, but he wasn't there to enjoy it. In his hand was a weapon that was clearly not his Apertor. Instead, it was more of a prototype blade with a similar design motif that he had been working on for many days. Turning his body away from the forest and towards the targets that were set up nearby, he got into a combat stance and prepared himself for the moment where he will hack those targets to pieces. He hoped that this was it.

Charging towards the targets, Jackson took a dash and sliced a few of the stationary targets. So far, so good. The sword was cutting like it was supposed to, and it's weight was manageable for someone like him. He should probably work on his handle grip — it seemed like it could need a little more lengthening — but hey, that was trial and error. After cutting down the stationary targets, he proceeded to take on the moving targets that were going back and forth across a certain contraption. Wanting to test his weapon's alternate configuration, he held the sword with both hands and the blade suddenly retracted in a mechanical and automated fashion.

However, one of the moving parts locked, and it felt like it was already heating up. In fact, it heated up to the point where the handle became hot to the touch. By his reflexes he dropped the weapon, and it fell to the ground with a thud. Smoke was starting to come out of the "half-sword-half-gun," followed by a loud pop. Jackson placed his palm over his head and sighed to himself as he tilted his head up to the clouds. Not again…

En route to the Cafeteria

"To be honest, I never really understood what Professor Lewiston was trying to say," Carmina walked beside Avena with her hands behind her head. To her, history may be interesting, but it was certainly hard to connect the dots with everything. "I mean, I get the Faunus War and all, but I don't see how the Battle at Fort Castle was exactly a turning point and stuff like that — you know what I mean, right?"

"Not really," Leif followed behind, placing his hands on his roaring belly. "All I could think of is my stomach. By the way, have you seen Jackson around?"

Carmina shrugged. "I dunno, he said he was going to catch up with us later." She has no idea where the fox faunus went off to, but she hoped that he can keep his word. Hopefully he won't skip lunch like last time, or like many times before.

Other students just like them were also heading to the cafeteria to have lunch. For many, the cafeteria is an opportunity to get to know classmates better outside of class and talk about a plethora of things, since they don't have to deal with the teacher eyeing them and calling them out. Plus, for a cafeteria it has pretty good food — perhaps too good, even by Hunter academy standards.

She may have spotted a certain student in her class going to the cafeteria as well — someone that may have attended the same class earlier. She must be; after all she did seem familiar to her. Was that Anna? She decided to get her attention. "Hey Anna," she greeted. "Guessing you're hungry as well, huh? Wanna come eat with us?"

High above Beacon Academy a wispy, solitary little cloud drifted leisurely across the tranquil, azure sky.

Below, the bustling atmosphere of the school was disrupted by a single, long syllable.

"aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Unlike her namesake Skye was anything but tranquil, speeding through the school grounds uncontrollably, her arms windmilling wildly to maintain her balance, two long, white rabbit ears streaming behind her like pennants on some racing chariot.

"SLOWDOWNSLOWDOWNSLOWDOWNSLOWDOWN!" Skye pleaded desperately as she shot through a small flock of pigeons like a bullet, clearing them before the startled birds even had a chance to flee.

Very patently however, Skye was not slowing down. in fact as the gradient beneath her steepened slightly Skye's speed only increased. The faunus girl managed to barely bank around an elegant looking pillar but immediately came face to face with another rapidly encroaching obstacle, a small group of her fellow students

"WAaaaatch out!" squealed Skye, shifting to a sidelong stance to fit through the narrow gap between them. She hurtled past the others and slammed unceremoniously into yet another pillar with a loud, oddly metallic thunk.

"...Nrggh," she said in a voice muffled by the wall her face was pressed up against, her small, fluffy tail giving a little twitch. "I guess that didn't work," Sky mumbled, thin metal legs finding the ground underneath her as she spoke. With a small grunt she pulled herself off the wall but her arm seemed to remain stuck until she firmly tugged it away, sending her staggering backwards and revealing an arm shaped dent in the pillar she had crashed into.

"Phew," The faunus sighed, spinning around to brush some dust off the metallic arm that seemed to have absorbed the brunt of her impact.

"Did someone say something about food?" She asked, giving everyone a bright, if slightly dopey grin. "'Cos I. Am. Staaaaaarving!"
...!?!

Ning Kohkahycumest

Ning sat outside of the cafeteria. He found a nice peaceful green space along one of the walls. He sat down and ate his lunch, in peace. Over the time he had been at Beacon he found the cafeteria nice, but way to chaotic. Outside the cafe was more peaceful, easier to concentrate. After he finished eating his lunch (which to most would just seem like a snack), he got up and then sat down in the lotus position. He closed his eyes, and put his hands on his knees, palms facing up. He slowed his breathing and focused on nothing, on clearing his mind.

Sirina Zezili

Sirina walked past Ning, There he goes.... I guess I won't be having lunch with him today... he must feel drained... she thought as she walked past. She slowly made her way to the cafeteria. Maybe I should look for more people.... considering I'm not on a team still... oh well.

Ah.

Lunch.

That most wonderful of times, the designated mix-and-mingle time, a chance to bond with your fellow man...

Yeah, right.

Charlotte didn't feel the need to eat lunch. Would it make her stronger? Yes. Was the food good? Perhaps. Did she really care? No.

Besides, if she did eat lunch, someone would surely feel the need to engage her in conversation.

That was the worst.

Weeks hadn't improved her relationships with anyone, except Theriam, and her teammates to some extent.

Of course, she now had a few more scars thanks to Charlie, but she already had so many a few more didn't make much of a difference.

There was another reason she didn't like talking to people...

They could never know.

So she sat under a tree and read, because she could.

After weeks of trying, she had managed to get her book very close to good as new.

How... ironic.

It had been a while since Reina had spoken with Erde. Things would hopefully work out, both with Erde, and with Vic when the time came. But until then, Reina would rather think about other things. Like what she was going to do with the situation which had presented itself to her.
There she was, the crazy girl, underneath a tree reading.

Right... she's the one I called damaged goods... not like it was a lie...

"Yo, so if it isn't little Ms. Not broken just bent. What have you been up to lately? Still hanging around with the rude ones?"
"I don't know everything, just the things I know"
