Occupied Deutschland wrote:The thought came back to haunt her almost as soon as she attempted to exit the library. Some tiny klutz had managed to bump herself into another student so hard as to actually fall over. It would be funny if it weren’t so sad. Still, Umber couldn’t be too amused. She’d gone through her own awkward period years before as well. She’d once managed to bump an Atlas teacher’s SCROLL out of his hands so hard it had broken when it hit the floor. That had been embarrassing. Particularly since he’d been taking roll-call at the time. This kid had lucked out, she was in a library and there were only a handful of people to see the fall rather than an entire class.

“—Help—“ The voice was scratchy and electronic, with no inflection that might belie whether it was a request or an offer. Compensating for the failing of her new voice, Umber extended the hand not at her neck controlling it to the girl who had fallen to make it clear she was making an offer. To be doubly certain, she cocked an eyebrow. There was a familiar heat rising in her cheeks, but there was nothing she could do to combat it. It still happened whenever she ‘spoke’ around anyone new. But it didn’t really matter. She very well wasn’t going to write down such a simple offer of help on a SCROLL. If for no other reason than doing that would be even more ridiculous than asking in her unnatural voice.

If she could get used to it, other people could as well.

Umber’s eyes flicked to the boy—Togami, if she remembered correctly—and she gave him a quick scan. Some Faunus bi—girl had been hanging over him moments before, but she’d continued on her way. Umber couldn’t say she was unhappy with that, much as that wasn’t a ‘proper’ thing to admit. He looked rather dazed, however.

“—You—“ Umber ‘said’, tilting her head slightly at the boy.

Jolana gripped Umber's hand and helped herself up with little effort - she didn't have far to go from 'on her ass' to 'standing', and she didn't weigh much either.

"Th-th-th-th-thank y-you," she managed to get out. Who was she again? I recognize her - hard to miss someone who needed an electronic device to speak at all, but I can't remember her name... something with a U.... hm... Urdina? Urrea? Umbridge?

"U-U-Umber, right?"

"You want to know why I am willing to claim your source is bad... because Miss de Mazelle is one of the few teachers who has actually tried to help me on multiple occasions. I can't help but hope she is good and these claims aren't true." Sirina said calmly as she sat down, "Before I came here I was sitting out by a tree, and met this egotistical bitch named Anastasia. She claimed to be royalty and sure acted like a snotty royal. We got into an argument and afterwards I came back here to speak to Togami, but he wasn't here so I took a nap."

Octavia responded with a somewhat more subdued tone of voice “I hope I'm wrong, in all honesty. At the very least I hope so because if I'm right, then there is a mass murderer and terrorist roaming free at this school. However, I do hope that it is obvious to you why I must investigate, because all evidence seems to point towards this being the case. In this case, I would welcome any evidence beyond 'Well, she was nice to me' because I've heard of at least two fights going on where she had an active role, which doesn't really speak for her niceness to students. Also, if I'm right and Reina is a former White Fang member, then somebody might be able to use this information as blackmail. If such is occurring, then it is, I think, obvious why I might want to interfere. The bottom line is, I'll investigate, if it turns out that she's innocent, well good. Bit of a waste of time, but still overall positive outcome. However, if it turns out over the course of my investigations that she is in fact guilty, and is in fact still as malevolent towards others, then I must ask; will you aid me in battle, should it prove necessary?”

Sirina Zezili

Careful here.... Think carefully. You can't let her know that you are kinda in league with Miss de Mazelle, she'll no longer think of you as a friend, and it can hurt her. So lying will protect her for a little longer, but when she finds out... Sirina thought, Then again... if I tell her then she'll be in danger, along with Ning and... Togami... No, I can't do that... Lying is the best choice here...

"If you can provide enough evidence that the claims you are pressing are true, then I will help if I can. But if you can't prove it, then there will be no need for action." Sirina stated as she laid down, "But enough of this plotting... I don't like it."

Noting the change in expression, Mentari fumbled with words in her head along with Purnama. The two argued for what felt like hours, but was in fact several milliseconds of discussion. In the end though, nothing really mattered. There was nothing she could come up with that could possible make up with the setback she had just created. So she decided to just go along with the flow.

"That's really true! I did something reaaaaally bad with technology back then, still can't forget about it," Mentari said, Purnama chuckling away. That was of course, when the darker part of her woke up. And a distance began to brew between herself and her parents.

"Oh..." Her brow furrowed in thought. Mentari actually has a dark past? Never would have guessed. But I suppose, with the other one... don't remember her name...

"If you don't mind me asking, what... what happened? If you don't want to talk about it that's totally fine," she added quickly. "I can understand not wanting to talk about the past. It's just... if you're okay with it, that's all." Hope this doesn't make things even more awkward... I really need to do a better job at this 'leading' thing. Oh, Monty, why was I even chosen? I can't lead people. I can't hold a team together. I can't...

I can't even hold myself together. I can't help myself, I can't save myself, how am I supposed to do the same for others when they need it? I couldn't... How do I even do this.

Mentari shook her head while smiling. "No no, it's fine. I mean, I can trust you with this."

She began to recall what happened in her head. The anger and frustration filled her heart for a brief moment, and she breathed in the poisonous air. It was a silly way to get enraged now that she thought about it, but the memory that burned itself into her mind. "I was still a little kid, who wanted to follow in my parent's steps. So I created something..."

She brushed her hand across her waist, where a hilt would have usually been. "Eclipse... At least her prototype. I was so proud I showed it to them, mom and dad... The reaction I recieved?... A slap across my face... The destruction of my creation... Too much for me to witness at one moment. I didn't know what else to do, so I ran to my room, and created a concotion so deadly it would detonate with the slightest touch. Threw that downstairs, leveled the house I lived
in and almost murdered everyone inside."

The appetizers had arrived while she talked, and she continued to stare blankly into space as she spoke. "I felt something pushing me. An internal force keeping me going, fueling my burning rage. It wasn't until now did I realize it had a name..."

"Purnama... The opposite of a mentari, or sun in a language long lost..."

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeell that was-- Incredible! This girl, I like her. You'll have to bring her to visit or something. NO. Why not? Why do you think? You're such a drama queen. I'd rather be a drama queen than someone like you. See? Drama queen! Right there!

"I... I'm... sorry," Charlotte said awkwardly. "I... wish I could say something that would make it feel okay, but... if there's one thing I've learned in the last five years, it's that people can say whatever they want, they can say amazing, inspiring things, but that doesn't mean that will make it okay. Because ultimately, it's not up to the people around you--they can be there for support, they can help you, yes, but that's not what will help you heal--the only person who can decide that it's time for healing, time to move on, is you."

She sat back and smiled slightly. "And I think that you're going to handle that very well."

"Thanks, been trying to do so for so long," she replied, "Nice words there, cap."

"Yeah, well, occasionally I can get something right," she joked. Well, it was about half of a joke. Well, actually more of a quarter. Or an eighth. Or a sixteenth... Actually it wasn't a joke at all, but she sounded like she was joking, and that was what counted, right?

Ri-ight.

"Seriously, though, if you do need anything--a friend, a good blade, someone to talk to, anything--I-I'll try to help, okay? That's what friends--and teammates--are here for." She smiled, and it was a genuine smile. What had once been so rare and hard was becoming easier and easier. She was slipping back into life, one kind word at a time.

Mentari giggled again, almost coughing on the grape in her mouth, so she drank the mineral water provided. Clearing her throat, she finished her platter and replied, "That's reall nice of you, Lotte. I'll be sure to ask you about things if they come up."

Then, something did come up. Her face became a bit red and her smile awkwards, with Purnama also sighing in her mind. "B-By the way, you didn't see anything between m-me and Ch-Chess, did you?" She twiddled with her thumbs nervously, but she had to ask. She didn't want anyone thinking bad of her without even knowing. Especially when she would have to trust her life to them at some point it in time.

Mentari hummed in exhasperation, cutting a bit of the food and finally taking her first bite.

*CRUNCH*

Nhhh, so crispy!

The meat was juicy, deliveri a delightful rich taste of chicken. The roasted beef slices left a smokey taste, akin to that of a honey producing wood. And the cheese, that oh-so amazing mozarella cheese. It blended the flavours in harmony, placing it all in a single goo blast, all in one bite. Her thighs were weak, mouth watery, as she took another piece.

More of the juices kicked in, as if she were taken on a joy ride of fried gourmet. She'd never eaten meat so tender, or cheese so melted. And then there was that savory sauce, maximizing everything tenfold. She sat there like an idiot, laughing to herself quietly, drooling a bit too much.

"W-Well, I should probably... Just let Purnama... Do what she wants... Right?..."

Right?..."

How... does she get that much pleasure out of just food? I don't understand... I wish it was that easy for me to be happy. "I wouldn't agree," she said calmly, eating her own meal. It was enjoyable, but she hardly reacted in the same way as Mentari. "It's your body, not hers, and only you get to decide what you do with it." As for me, if I just let my voices do whatever they wanted, things would end badly for a good amount of people.

This commander of G-COM seemed to be a mysterious persona—just as much as the Professor was. Was Ironwood perhaps backing the project as well? After all, James was perhaps the most anxious out of all of the headmasters of the four academies, and would prefer to use sheer military might to prevent the Grimm from breaching into the kingdoms. Jack seemed to be choosing the same course of action as the general was. "Very well. I should advise you to try to convince currently active Huntsmen and Huntresses to support your cause, as well as inform students of this matter. Whether I will personally support your efforts will be revealed in time, Mr. Reilly. I hope you understand that."

Jack smiled. "Of course, Professor. I would expect nothing more. So, shall we proceed?" Ozpin was a shrewd man. If he ceded to this, then Jack had done his job.

"Jolana ben Lowenstein."

She would never admit it, but those were probably the only three words Jolana could say without stuttering, simply because she was so used to saying them. It had nothing whatsoever to do with her practicing in the bathroom while her teammates, classmates, or relatives weren't in with her, or home. Nope, not at all.

So Erde stopped, turned her head and stared... Stared at exactly were Reina had hidden herself and then ruthlessly smiled in her direction while mouthing her next words... no sound was necessary after all her intent was a clear as day and as sharp as a knife...
Of course Erde didn't need to see Reina, after all Erde already "owned" her and would never let her willingly go, the poor thing just didn't know it yet.

"I SEE YOU, Reina chan... See Y.O.U. later... "

And then with that simple blood chilling expression passed, Erde turned her head and continued walking until she reached the Infirmary with a pleasant smile on her face. Readjusted Yuki's unconscious body into a princess carry after setting her briefcase onto the ground and then opened the door. With a careful bit of footwork, Erde walked in and quietly moved to a free bed and placed the unconscious girl quickly under the sheets and then noticed the other occupants of the room.

"Oh... we've met again haven't we young man."

There were only a few things which could break Reina's stealth without her wanting it to be. These mainly involved getting knocked unconscious in some manner, or being injured in some way. The method Erde discovered, was scaring Reina so badly she went almost completely feral for a moment, her ears standing on end, her tail shooting straight out, what fur she has on her ears and tail bristling, lips peeling back to reveal bared canines, and every instinct in her telling her to either tear out this predators throat before it could eat her, or get away as fast as possible. Unfortunately the sudden change also broke the background concentration she had on maintaining her stealth.

I 'twas at this moment that Victoria found Reina. Victoria wasn't even trying to find Reina, as she had given her up for dead when Reina didn't even talk to her within a month, but Victoria was nonetheless happy.

"Reina! I've been so worried about you! Were have you been?" Victoria said hugging Reina, oblivious to whatever was happening. She wasn't paying attention as she just walked to the area. She liked to walk around Beacon sometimes to clear her head and thoughts. It was still good for Victoria to find Reina.

"What have you been up to? Anyways, we need to talk, can we come back to the class to talk?" Victoria asked.

I mean, we're at my car, and I'm really flippin' hungry. How about it?" Leika asked looking at Adrian. She didn't know what it was, but there was something that drew her to Adrian. Was it the kind language, the well-kept body, or was it the fact that he didn't mind Leika not asking him to do something? Leika didn't really know, and it was bugging her. Much like Aiden, she hated not knowing what it was that drew them to something, or caused them to dislike something. However, she just assumed she liked him for his kindness and appearances. To many kids had disheveled hair, crazy clothes, or even random piercings, but Adrian did not. So she just assumed that she liked him for those two things.

"I'll pay for lunch too. I don't mind." Leika then said, making sure she had her wallet.

"Lunch sounds excellent," he responded smoothly, "and while I appreciate your offer, to allow you to pay for me would go against every code I hold dear. So I'm afraid I must decline and insist upon paying for myself."

"Well I understand, but I will pay for myself, a way of apology. Were do you want to go? I'm partial to anything." Leika said, pulling out her keyes and starting her car. It was a small, white car and Leika loved it. Also because it was fast and Leika had a thing for going fast. She opened the door for Adrian and got in the driver's seat. She gave a cocky smile as she looked at Adrian, with maybe a hint of desire. Leika was starting to accept the fact she liked Adrian, and it was certainly showing with a grin full of love. And because Leika couldn't hate. She revved the car and broke a huge gin.

"Are you ready?" Leika asked.

"Are you ready?" Leika asked.

He held up a hand, smiling. "I'll allow you to decide that." He noticed the way she was watching him, and his mind flashed back to an old memory...

"It's good to be back. I missed everything here... but I missed you most." He smiled, and she looked away awkwardly, so he pressed on, trying to smooth things over. "Did you get my letter?"

She nodded, and he smiled even wider, before pausing.

"Why didn't you reply?"

"Because it was the most horrible thing I've ever read!"

He was cut to the quick.

"I--I don't understand."

She turned away, leaning back against the table.

"All I wanted was to be friends with you. Why couldn't we just be friends?"

"That's what I wanted at first... but now I want to be more. I think we could be more."

She picked up one of the chess pieces--the black queen.

He wondered if there was some significance to that choice. She always played black, anyway.

She put the piece down.

"We can't."

"Why not?"

"Adrian, all the other girls love you. Go find one of them." He brushed the rebuttal off. He wanted to help this girl in front of him, any way he could.

"I don't love any of them, I love you! None of them could ever take your place. There's only one of you, Charlotte, and I don't know if I could love anyone else."

She stared at the floor.

"You don't know me, Adrian."

He walked around the table, lifting her chin and staring at her, staring directly into her deep blue eyes. They were so sad...

"Then let me get to know you!"

She looked away, her voice soft... and yet so hard, and cold.

"No."

"But Charlotte... I know something's hurting you. That's obvious enough to everyone! But we can work through it, we can work it out together! Please, just let me--" She cut him off.

"I said no!" She turned and ran, leaving him stricken and confused.

What had he done wrong?

He almost sighed, but stifled the urge. I wish I understood you, Charlotte. I wish you'd given me a chance. After that, he had begun to notice the way other girls looked at him, and he saw it in Leika's face now.

He felt a little sad.

"I'm ready when you are," he replied, his voice a fraction heavier.

It would be easy to admit that Lucas was somewhat startled to find out after all this time, his professor was basically robocop and his smile faltered for a moment before the crooked grin returned on his face. "Yo Professor I got a couple questions from the while before with that duel and all, but I've been busy to ask them." Lucas said and scratched his head. Now to see if he will hear me out, he thought to himself before continuing.
"Well first of all, it was obvious that you didn't need to put a whole lot of effort to beat him, which was why you just stood there and parried and countered...but wouldn't it have been easier to show everyone the how easy you could beat him by just beating him right at the start of the first round?"
"I guess I don't get why you didn't just show him how strong you really are right at the start after testing each-others defences."
His eyes drifted back to the metal torso of his teacher, "How did you get that?" he asked in a final question with a noticeable amount of somberness in his voice.
He had met several other amputees and the like how had their limbs replaced by bionics in Atlas however...an entire torso
