But something you don't get is the value of your own life before others's.

"Oh, really? As a medic, if you had a patient who was going to die slowly and painfully and there was no way to stop it, and they wanted to be able to die quickly, would you let them die quickly and painlessly? Or would you make them live an agonizing life until they finally found peace in darkness?" She laughed. "And one other thing..."
She paused, and her eyes were cold and... almost sadistic.
