History: after the outbreak the pope moved into a shelter deep in the holy church with as many followers as possible.they survived in the dark and alone for a long while. until a man named Adhurim left and found that the zombies were gone in such a way that operations could be funded to exterminate the zombie population.Adhurim seeing the opportunity stole it and funded a project to exterminate the zombie first in the church and later the Vatican all together. It was a easy job because the walls of the Vatican had been boarders up and fixed so that zombies could not come in.and so he became the pope out of honer and respect because he freed the church and it's followers.After a while Adhurim died from old age in his 60's and his son took over.during that time he expanded the kingdom.controlling land via army's but mainly because of religion as Christianity had still been around to the people in the region. then he one day left never to be found.some say he left for new land some say he lost hope.anyway his son than took over.and resumed his legacy.And that is the history.

EXTRA: the church now follows two paths one pre-outbreak ideas claim that humans survived the apocalypse and one claiming that the apocalypse was gods plan to cleanse the world of the heretics. They are called the Plagued. The church is accepting of both.

History: During the initial outbreak, Sicily and the regions in Southern Italy didn't suffer as much as the densely populated northern Italian regions. Italian Army troops did a better job of protecting metropolitan areas than their counterparts in the north. Still, the infection raged throughout the countryside, killing hundreds of thousands. A mafia boss named Emilio Barzini, new head of the Barzini crime family after his father Don Barzini died, rose to the occasion and personally spent resources constructing defenses around cities and spearheading efforts to wipe out the infection.

This gained him and the Barzini Family a very favorable reputation, earning trust with nearly everyone in Sicily. The Sicilian Republic was proclaimed a year after the outbreak. The crime family which had been an enemy of the state for so long, in a twist of irony, became the Barzini Party, a pro-capitalist and democratic party which sponsored the switch of former mafia families to political parties. They actually succeeded in their goal, as the Corleone Family and Stracci Family, the former a family which specialized in illegal weapons smuggling, and the latter in gambling, became political parties dedicated to advocating their goals.

Eventually, Barzini sent ships to seize territory on the Peninsula itself and at the island of Sardinia. It was not an easy process, but the military gained them quickly. Now the SIS is poised to advance further up the Peninsula and unify all of Italy.
