History
During the 1990s depression, the RP began to lose its grip on the country. This gave rise to Islamist elements in the North and center and socialist movements in along the coast and in Kurdistan. Riots broke out in all cities, but the largest were in Istanbul and Ankara. With the economy continuing to shrink and more people becoming unemployed, the socialist TKP became more and more popular. Eventually, after rioters stormed in June 1998 to the GNA and demanded an immediate election. The President complied and in the 1998 election, the TKP stormed to victory. They began instituting vast reforms, including:

Autonomy for Kurdistan
housing for all
state ownership of land larger than 5 acres
Workers ownership of their workplaces (under state supervision)
Defaulting all Turkey's debt
nationalization of all industry (but under control of workers)
Any form of inequality based on class, sex, nationality or religion was made illegal
legalization of general strikes
All mansions to be transformed in to flats
Free University for all
Free 2 meals per day for all children to the age of 16
Free 1 meal per day for all workers
Free gas for all
Free water for all
Free electricity for all

The Turkish economy has risen sharply since 1998 and although GDP per capita is small, it does not need to be large as all basic necessities are free
