I prefer "ancient". But if we're going to stick with "old", please add "and treacherous".

Mmm, I'm also wondering when Bran would be called on to do some public works and stuff, he hasn't even been called upon for that yet.

From what I've interpreted, PW work seems to mostly be on the hired people's own time and ideas instead of being commanded around, or at least that's how I've been playing it out with Willow.

I expect we'll get more organized soon:

Made Briggs look like a right fool, I'm told." I'll need to raise my own game to match. There's been too much confusion over the last few days to get properly organized.

;)

Edit to add: If Sep doesn't call a meeting the day after the election, Amanda will. Lead, follow, or get out of the way. *nods*

SITREP
Image

CURRENT CONDITIONS - BIELEFELD:
  • Bielefeld Time: 5 PM
  • Current Temperature: 70*F
  • Forecast: Rain in the wee hours of morning
  • Date: Election Day

CURRENT GAME EVENTS:
  • Into the Woods
  • Allspice (ongoing, see Tilt for details)
  • Fallout: Bielefeld (paused - closed)
  • Lullaby (paused - closed during part 1, see Swith for details)

MINOR/PLAYER EVENTS

UPCOMING EVENTS
  • BranRiech trip de novo - see Bran for details
  • Possible trip to Monfrox

PAUSED MINOR EVENTS
none listed

OP/CoOP STUFF:
  • The plan is to hold the rally, announce the winners, denounce 13, and tumble into free form. Let me know if your characters plan to attend the rally in the park. If they don't plan to attend, make it for a good plot reason. Flirting or chatting is not an acceptable reason. Some characters are not attending (Slo's group) because they are working on other things but they'll have access to news coverage.
  • The discrimination/oppression will remain in the setting but not to the degree formerly planned. The anti-ab groups such as Humanity First are still around.
  • We're having problems with players not checking in for several days at a time.

A reminder from Agy's guide: "As a good rule-of-thumb, regular posts should happen at least every-other-day if not once-a-day. Anything less than that will cause players to grind to a halt as they wait for a character to catch up and result in necessary time-skipping to make sure the PL time frame keeps up with RL time, which is necessary for certain events and to make the setting easier to understand and relate to."

I don't mind if real life takes a player away from the game. It's polite to either park your character when that happens, or to ask someone to run your character while you're gone. Communication is essential.

Time Skip Reminder

It's up to the player to outline what their character did during a time skip. They can best achieve that in their first post after an established skip. Consider it a one-shot moment for the character or, if another player is willing, do a collab to cover what transpired. Skips don't halt the story.

An example: time skipped. Characters were plucked from the rally and placed in their apartments. Night changed to morning. This player used the skip to fashion a one-shot that added depth to his character and a side story.
Highfort wrote:Septimus let out a sigh of relief as Neste's entrancing form retreated down the hallway for unspecified business. He thought it best not to pry - the more compartmentalized everything was, the better. If anyone was taken down, they wouldn't spoil the entire apparatus. Or so he figured, given his political experiences. Loose lips sank ships, and everyone had loose lips when they were pushed to their limits - whether pain or pleasure.

The warmth of the kiss they had just shared lingered on his lips and he pondered exactly what they were. There had been no official commencement of a relationship or any formal alteration of relationship status as was customary in the Confederation - people were hopelessly wired into the extranet and thus the premise of a "private affair" was hopeless unless one had the fortitude necessary to serve in the government's more clandestine services. On Terra, however, things seemed to progress far more fluidly and without formalities, and he found himself rather liking that.

Still, it did leave their relationship up for debate and, while he was weary and physically-exhausted, he did give it a cursory thought before turning said thoughts to a comfortable bed. Funny, it seemed like nearly a lifetime ago when he'd been spilling snot all over the apartment floor while the helpful lizard had cleaned him up and stopped him from dying. Now he was young, and the apartment felt alien once more.

A hand traced over the counter top. It was the same, but feeling it beneath fresh fingers gave it a different dimension. The same was true of the air, which he breathed in without a hitch and with a smile as he realized a filter was no longer necessary for his survival.

Sentia's absence was sorely noticed and the cyborg noted with a critical eye that her miniature bed cushion no longer held the indentation of her shape. He supposed she'd found herself a new home in the meantime - she would return as soon as word got out that he was back in the Building. She always did. And, in any case, he was glad that there was no toilet paper shortage to deal with and that the fridge and freezer had remained closed.

He figured he deserved a break for doing, at the very least, with little to go on, lukewarmly. Shedding his robes and leaving them on the bedroom carpet, he blacked out into dreamless sleep as he succumbed to tiredness and exhaustion. How the little lizard could still have time to go do whatever other work was required of her after the grueling evening that was the campaign meting, he had no idea. She was quite the miracle, in his opinion.

Awakening a little after dawn, as was natural, he spent his morning parsing through his memories and classifying them before wiping any excess data. The usual clean-up, in other words, before he began his day. Though the extended sleep he desired had eluded him, he found himself somewhat refreshed and proceeded with a light breakfast to wake himself up fully before leaving the apartment.

My characters will likely be attending, partly as a meeting for Adri and Byron. I'm going to be working on Adri's personal arc so I can move that ahead into my planned event. I'll be trying to keep up with PL a little more from now on.

Mon, as the time for our interaction wasn't fixed to begin with, let's just fudge it and continue.
Come to the light side.  We have teamwork, waffles, popcorn, grape juice, and way too much ramen.

Unless one is a genealogist, therapist, geneticist, or FBI agent - who is acting within the scope of their job - to claim that anyone is wrong about their own identity is not merely absurd but also extremely rude.

Bran, John won't visit Yuna for a while. It's still early in the day and I might need him for some cultist stuff before they take off.

Is anyone frozen? I can get a scene moving for you. If you're frozen because a player hasn't posted, please let me know.

Why would Kale go to the new park? There is nothing at the new park. The group that will work on the new park hasn't even formed yet (beyond tossing ideas about).
