Giovenith
A wandering tinkerer with a fascination for the simple things in life. Giovenith kept herself lightly armed and light as a feather to be able to get out of any trouble faster than when it found her. She and her artsy friend that she met in the Cordon ended up settling down in an unpopulated part near the Yantar Production Complex, which was where she met some nice neighbors utilizing lab X-16 for their own purposes. She built herself a robotic android after scrapping a lot of advanced tech together. Today, she is something of an urban legend, and it is said that for just a loaf of bread and some water, she'll give your equipment a little more edge to stave off the dangers of the Zone. That is, if you can find her.
Torii
Dutyer-in-training, Torii was always on the hunt for excitement. The only thing she liked more than shooting was shooting mutants. The Zone was evil in her eyes, and she'd do everything to protect the world from it. With her (t)rusty AKM by her side, nothing could scare her. Still, she had much to learn, and though the Zone claimed many Stalkers day after day, she never lost her peppiness and enthusiasm. A real zealot for the Duty cause of protecting the world from the Zone. Still, this attitude blinded her to some of the problems with Duty's overall philosophy. The only thing she hates more than mutants are Duty's natural enemies: Freedom, Bandits, and the Monolithians. Duty's commander had to ask her to tone it down a tad after she all but belted to him that she'd pledge her entire life for the mission. Still likes to get absolutely hammered in Yanov Station with her comrades for enjoyment.
Charumati/Swith
Legend and rumors tell of a black-cloaked woman wandering the Zone. No one knows who she is, where she comes from, or why she only wears a black cloak and nothing else despite the massive amounts of radiation. They say she is Death, personified. Some call her "The Reaper", or "The Angel of Death". Still others simply refer to her as "The Raven", or "The Cloak". The bandits call her "The Bitch in Black". Only a few have claimed to actually have seen the woman, but perhaps they had hit the vodka a bit too much that day. They say that she looms over Stalkers near the end of their lives and claims their souls for her own as mere playtoys. Others say that only the most lawful of Stalkers may pass under her judgement, and that if a Stalker has sinned in her eyes, she takes their liver. If these rumors are true, then it would explain the dead Stalkers with their entire livers removed from their bodies...
NVE
When the Zone was created, Neil was still running about the capital, trying to get government grants. After seeing the world completely changed, he set off on his way towards adventure, discovery, and a bit or self-depreciating humor on the way. That last bit helped him pick up a few assistants along the way, and he now secretly runs the X-16 lab under the noses of passing Stalkers. Any who venture inside never return. Any, that is, except for a young girl who Neil likes to call "The Little Engineer" and has help with his mechanical work. It's a mutual coexistence that is necessary in an environment like the Zone. She helps him fix his stuff, he helps keep her fed and alive. It's noted that Neil and his ragtag crew no longer work for the government in exile, and are simply freelancing their time as a means to entertain themselves. Whatever keeps your head screwed on, Neil.
Thriller
After the unfortunate disappearance of General Tachenko to a Space Bubble anomaly, Colonel Cornelius Thriller was the first to step up to lead Duty. Though Lieutenant Colonel Shulga ran against him to lead Duty as well, Thriller eventually won over the men, leaving Shulga to continue leading the small Yanov detachment. A great soldier with an exceptional tactical mind; Thriller soon began laying out plans to, as he so eloquently put it, "Stick it so hard to those Monolith bastards, that they'll shit themselves out of their stupor". Though not greenlit entirely, his plan went into action and began pushing the Monolith forces out of certain areas. He led the battles in his custom exo-suit with his personal VSS rifle. One of the Duty trainees swears she saw him hanging out with "some weird lady in a black robe" or something like that.
Bran
Once a Loner, always a Loner. Bran enjoyed spending his time at Skadovsk with Nimble, Cardan, and Beard, occasionally running errands for the both of them to keep himself fed. He's the reason why the bar has music going all the time, even if the station changes itself every thirty seconds. Still, it's better than no music at all. He has himself a nice girlfriend and dreams of living a quiet life with her and their kid, but is watchful of the Bandits and Mercs who are usually out to route the Loners and take over Skadovsk. He'll stand for his brothers, with his brothers, to protect what little gleam of a hope in his life that is rightfully his.
Deuce
Though certainly one might expect a man of his stature to be Duty's latest attempt at trying to utilize military superscience, this hulk of a man is actually enlisted with Freedom. He cares little for Freedom's mission of sharing the Zone with everyone as if it were a gift to mankind, and instead hangs around them purely for the company they offer. Unlike the ex-military types of Duty, Freedomers are a lot more laid back and generally a happier bunch. He's quite the guitar player and is always writing new songs. He hangs around Yanov mostly, but travels around the Zone on personal journeys. Not even the dumbest bandit would think of messing with him and his PKM. Even some of the mutants seem to shy away from him. Some just don't care. Perhaps he, unlike the rest of the Stalkers, has a rite of passage. He sometimes likes to stop and smell the flowers along his way. One on of his ways, he met a young woman whom seemed like the delicate flowers he admired, but lost sight of her during a scuffle with the Monolithians. He returns everyday to the same spot at the same time they met, hoping he'll meet up with her again.
Prim
No one knows the whole story behind this Stalker. He changes it too much and too little at the same time. Some think he's an undercover military stalker, or Monolithian, trying to undermine the factions of the Zone. Others say he's a cannibal. Both aren't true, though. Prim is surprisingly mild-mannered for his attitude and disposition. A bright member of the Ecologists who he studies the Zone in its entirety, not letting anything escape his mind's grasp. Some of his fellow members in the faction wonder how he can wrap his head around such things that go on in the Zone, but for him it's not a matter for levity. On the contrary, some things just seemed to simple to him. He kept a journal and made sure to write everything to the last detail down about his findings, research, and theories. Surely, someone like him must be mad, right? ....right?
Septimus
Usually found around the train hangar in Garbage, this man is a quiet one. Though officially a Free Stalker, he gravitated towards the Loners who set up camp there. He's learning how to make his own kind of armor on his downtime when he's not out hunting for artifacts and the like. Strangely enough, he doesn't seem to mind eating mutant meat like other Stalkers, but is wise to down it with some vodka to combat the radiation. Perhaps one day he'll eventually make that armor suit that can protect against anything and everything, but for now he relies on selling artifacts for his main source of income. Hey, artifacts are good money. If you can brave the anomalies that contain them, that is.
Tsu
They say that disaster follows this Loner wherever she goes, even if she doesn't mean for it to. Always one to ask when the next emission is, even though by the time she usually asks, it's literally seconds away. It's a wonder that she hasn't been lost to the Zone yet, but perhaps the Zone is trying to balance out some sort of cosmic imbalance with her luck. She runs around with her AN-94 and likes to shoot up rats and flesh pigs. She saw a Chimera once, and after that she decided to not go out at night, lest she get a heart attack. With her airheaded happy-go-lucky ways, she's a ray of sunshine in the Zone. A ray of pure, non-filtered, irradiated sunshine. Her luck doesn't just stop with her, though. Many bandits say they tried to mug her and "wipe that stupid grin off her face" but their weapons always jammed, they were attacked by mutants, or some other kind of force prevented such an event. They call her "Invictus".Welcome to the Zone. We hope you enjoy your stay.
