Some spying and/or action? I dunno.

That will work.

Also, im being forced by my mom to write a story because she decided to write two kids stories. Now that ive made it, i have to do a series and design the main character.

No,NO see what what happened is. She made two kids stories, sent to them to me andi read them. I sai di liked them, so a few minutes later, she was like "Your gonna write a kid's story to" So i did so on my fun, it rhymed a little at parts and was really good. So she wants me now to make it into a series, design the appearance of the main character.
This only happened because she made two stories of her own.

Deliberately add in a ton of subtle nightmare fuel so they end up as failures and have your mom be criticized for it.

That's what I'd do, anyways. Mind you, I'm the same guy who, when forced to make a children's novel about Pyromania in Psychology class, decided to throw in stick figure illustrations of the protagonist lighting people on fire.

My characters would flee
Yes. Fleeing IS an option. I counted on characters fleeing. I have small stories set up for them. The stories will convey the same feel however (the world is growing anti-ab once more) but they won't involve Bielefeld or any of the things happening there. I might throw in the occasional clue or news report as a means to keep these characters abreast of the setting back home.

13 needs to be stalled so we can protest it
Protesting it will not change the fact that a faction has decided (after three years of PL RP) to finally rid the world of the creatures that can stop it. It has taken great effort to rally humanity behind it. [11/2]13 was sneaked onto the ballet at the very last minute. The reason for the museum bombing was to instantly rile humanity right before the election. They're voting while the crater is still smoking, and they're voting to prevent the abs from doing this again. Briggs is their chief pawn regarding PR.

I don't want my character in the ghetto
That's perfectly acceptable.
The Underground: this isn't necessarily an organization that characters must join. It will also be used to whisk characters out of the city.
The community: some characters will be trapped on the other side of the ghetto through no fault of their own. They were overlooked, or looked human enough to pass. They have the option of living quietly and not causing ripples, or as serving as spies, or some other element.
The Observatory: healer characters have the opportunity to take sanctuary in the Observatory.

I don't want to be in the Underground or Resistance
That's fine. No one is required to join anything. Characters will live out their daily lives. The only change is the setting (ghetto, outside of it, outside the city etc).

The handwavium element
We have one element that makes little sense: no factions. Nobody's nation can roll in and save the day, nor can their faction (cultists, Guild, Raptors, Cthulhu etc) involve itself. This is because players have always been forced to sit out major invasion events while factions saved the day.

My character has no purpose
Nonsense. I've taken great pains to find ways in which every character can be useful (in a way the player would enjoy playing). Much of that isn't readily apparent yet because we haven't move ahead to the next day.

I can't use my power!
Giovenith can make paper birds. Sandy can use his Sight. Kale can make plants bloom. These are quiet powers that don't attract too much attention. What if Kale creates plant monsters? It causes a ripple. People notice. The anti-abs use it as proof that abs have the potential to destroy with unstoppable power. Minerva and others have asked characters to keep a low profile in order to protect the group at large, and the abs living in the rest of the world.

We're being mislead!
No, some of the other players are misleading players by either passing on heavily opinionated (and incorrect) information or else by failing to pass on the actual message.

Where we stand now

The purpose of this story was to weaken the structure. The story would have ended with the Nifid invasion. Characters would save the day, the world would see it, and abs would be treated as Extraordinary Beings rather than monsters. It was to have ended before September at the latest.

Swith is not doing her invasion. "Nope, nope, nope," were her exact words this morning. I concur. We have never had a successful event. The story breaks down due to player behavior behind the scenes. This is disheartening to any GM or OP.

[2]I have not decided if we will proceed with Oddsbodikins (God's Wounds), the current story. [3] I am still very busy IRL and Swith refuses to further GM this story in my stead. I am of the opinion that the entire event should be canceled and a major thread reset take place. I need to reset because the OP and CoOP characters were used as plot devices and now they can't exist in the current setting sans the plot. Vital city officials were removed from office. The USiPo was corrupted. It leaves a gaping plot hole.

[4]My other option is to refrain from 13 passing. You can all return to your usual business. The rest of us might sort the mess and play out other elements of the story. Swith would run this in my stead but the character list would be very short and only fully invested players would be allowed to join.

[1] Gio, as much as I would like to agree with that, with the situation as is/was (see 1 and half) to even be that close to a margin of failing would make no sense (at least to me) mainly due to the recent events that have lead to the recent heated moments and hatred and if it does fail, the possible threat of some character's lives would be at stake with supposed renegades.

[11/2] Which in this case, with some, if not most, of the populous gone, there would not be as much abhumans there to cause the swing vote (unless you count sympathizers and those with close relations with them)

[2] I say continue it. I was enjoying it.

[3] First off, don't cancel. Second, you only reset if it is broken; it isn't broken, just needs a bit of repairs to bring it back, which can be done. Third, if you need a break take a break, the thread will be here.

[4] [Reaction] Seriously. Anti-climatic.

With all of that said, I was enjoying the current theme we had going. Why? There was that tension, the freestyle writing to it and the railroads to guide us through a story that allowed us (the individual) to see our character's town go from a supposed utopia to a dystopia (kind of like BioShock: Infinite) and watch them and play as them as they struggle through an ever changing environment at that moment... Until now. Now the plug has been pulled and everything has a happy ending with a big gaping plot hole to it... Almost like those old saturday cartoons I use to watch as a kid.

Summary: Stop complaining and adapt ya sponges!

I am done..... Oh before I do step down, take note of the text above, I am not mad, or pissed off, or even a bit frustrated - irated. Just quite confused on the sudden change and why everyone decided to choose it. If you want to discuss this with me and my opinions on this, my TG box is always open for chat.... Okay, crazy grandpa is done.

*steps down from soap box*

The reason I snipped all that is because I want to focus on #4. People assume it will be anticlimactic. That's because some peeps aren't trusting me. I'm not being given a chance. I find it rather insulting, actually. It's basically discouraged me to the point where I don't want to try. If I haven't proven - after all these years! - If I haven't proven I can be trusted to make this thread shine for players, then why am I even here? *nods*

And that's what this has come down to. Trust.

Who said it would be a happy ending? My solution would not be sunshine and daisies. Yes, the "dread" would be removed - the dread of death camps. The characters are still facing overwhelming discrimination and hatred. They must still overcome. They have to do this by their own merits.

Basically, what I've agreed to run is a more simplified version of the story. The theme isn't going away. I'm still following Cer's story concept. Their utopia still sucks dog balls. The environment is still ever-changing and hostile. But they aren't looking at "final solution" now. They've been granted more time to get their shit together and make a difference in society... to make changes before another 13 ends up on the ballots.

Trust your CoOP. I got this covered.

I trust you. You've put so much of yourself into this RP. You know this world. You aren't going to mess it up -
Except for story purposes (ie utopia->dystopia) :p
