It's a fun holiday and it was my favorite when I was in preschool, but I've come to appreciate Passover more nowadays. A lot of positive early childhood memories associated with it as the one time a year when we saw most of my mom's mom's side of the family, plus, getting to watch The Prince of Egypt.

Fuck, man, I'd become Jewish if it meant The Prince of Egypt.

I've started actual fistfights over that movie.

It was a 1998 film, that's close enough to Y2K for most people old enough to have an account here.

Well, maybe people just didn't watch it. I mean, it's unashamed biblical propaganda.

Still good, though.

If you didn't watch The Prince of Egypt, you aren't un-Christian. You're just wrong.

Strangely or not, only Muslim countries had ever banned the film, including our not-go-great neighbours across the causeway. Depiction of any Islamic prophets is haram, including Moses.

I remember reading the book adaption of the Prince of Egypt, which provided anti-slavery as the rationale.

Which seemed kind of funny because I remembered reading Numbers.

But the best part was when the Israeli girl showed up with a custom Boyscout uniform, waving the Star of David flag around and yelling "Mazel Tov! Join the Army, Happy Hanukkah!"

I'd link it but it's private stuff. It was probably the most cute possibly offensive thing I've ever seen.

I literally just noted how great it was that I got to watch it every Passover and yet you have the gumption to imply that the only way to have seen the film was to be born in the 90s or go to Christian school.

Or I was just noting another possibility of how someone could come across it, based on my own experience.

There''s that.

But no, I was definitely saying you had to be Christian or born in the 90's to watch it.

It's frankly one of the saddest places in the whole city.
