So I finished a classic movie around a hour or two ago, and I've got good news and bad news.

Good news is that I liked the movie intensely. 10/10.

Bad news is that all my inner monologues are now being done by the voice of Malcolm McDowell in a bastardization of Gypsy, Russian, and English.

I did vote in the provincial election in Alberta earlier even though my vote did mean shit all in the grand scheme of things because a shitty social conservative party won in my riding and I'm still going to vote in the federal election. I haven't decided if I'm going to vote in the advance polls when I go home for Thanksgiving because that's where I'm already registered to vote or vote on the actual election day when I'm back in the city where I go to university because the NDP actually has a half decent chance here because of the large student population and I'll feel more like my vote meant something than if I vote at home where the Cons winning that riding is inevitable.

You know what I'm finding really kind of annoying at the moment? People who say that they're going to protest the way our democracy works by not voting. Like, that's not going to change anything. The best way to get an electoral reform is to vote for a party that actually supports electoral reform, not by refusing to vote and letting the Tories win again (because, let's be honest, the vast majority of Harper supporters actually vote, which is how he keeps getting in).

A lot of people I know who say they're protesting our democracy/hate all the parties are at least saying they're going to spoil their ballots rather than straight up not vote, so that's at least somewhat better. And I was going to do that too, but I'm just going to suck it up and vote NDP because I dislike them and Mulcair the least.

The whole site's getting them. It's just another average spammer raid. Simply ignore it and let the mods handle it. Getting upset will only give the spammers what they want.

I hadn't noticed, but I don't think it's Australian summer, whatever it is. For most students, holidays have been ended for a week, and anyway, we're not really into summer. I'm in Melbourne, where we began alternating between fans and extra layers of blankets a few weeks ago. Also, Australia is just too small to have that kind of impact, a few public holidays in California would have more impact.
