I'm not sure I can help. Because I don't understand why these can't be legal.

I never heard of Dr. Pepper, actually.

So I finally watched Dr. Who back on the 17th or 18th.

I thought it was pretty good. Matt Smith is a decent actor.

Sure, I mean, yeah, let's use gays as a marketing gimmick, that's a great way to raise awareness within the notoriously homophobic gaming community.

At what point does it stop being a "marketing gimmick" and become an actual component of the game, though?
BioWare's been integrating LGBT characters in their games for years, their lead writer on DA is gay, they've basically been nothing but sensitive about how they've handled that whole front (barring the whole ME1 Liara thing, but that was sort of their first real attempt at it). Hell, they put a gay character in KOTOR in open defiance of LucasArts, simply because they thought it made a good story element - and it kinda did. That was far from a "marketing gimmick" - it could've caused serious trouble if LucasArts had found out about it, and it was so camouflaged that most people never even knew about it, but it's there.

None of the LGBT characters in ME or DA have struck me as being exploitative - the whole "make everyone bi" idea in DA2 was more the product of BioWare being terrified of displeasing anybody, but the actual writing was tasteful and reasonable. Bioware mostly treats its gay characters just like any other characters, and the fact that they have to accentuate the fact that OMG their game actually contains LGBT characters isn't a "marketing gimmick", it's almost a backhanded insult at the rest of the community for being so regressive that Bioware's almost alone on this.

Have you actually played any of the games?
When the war is over
Got to start again
Try to hold a trace of what it was back then
You and I we sent each other stories
Just a page I'm lost in all its glory
How can I go home and not get blown away

I haven't played the game, but watched some of the gay sex scenes on YouTube (well that sounds suspicious). It actually surprised me how emotional one particular scene was. While it was a NC-17 scene, it didn't focus on the sexual environment, and actually the characters and their relationship (one of them coming from a culture where sex with the same sex was acceptable, but pursuing a relationship was not).

If you're going to fucking complain about homophobia in the gaming community, maybe not criticize games that depict them as human beings and not overly sexualized lust objects.

Matt's great; his successor is better, because it is physically impossible for Peter Capaldi not to be the best at whatever he tries, but still.

I haven't watched Peter Capaldi as the Doctor yet, and while I'm sure he's great, I prefer Matt's Doctor because he seems more eccentric and carefree. Mind you, I only watched one or two episodes.

Eh, I can fork over $12, it's just a matter of whether or not I want to. I mean, I just bought a pair last October. All I'd really be buying is a new mic.

Though I am tempted to make a joke about how desperate you are to hear my voice. ;)

"Carefree" and "eccentric" are certainly words one could use for Twelve, given as he doesn't care about anything and transcends sanity.

Yeah, okay. So they're wrong. No reason to get angry and scream at them over it.
