The history of the Central American state is more or less the same till 1854 when the "Liberal Revolution" comes much earlier at an early death of Caudillo Rafael Carrera. In early 1854, Guatemala City suffered a minor epidemic of Tuberculosis, among those infected were Carrera whom had contracted it from a military barrack on the outskirts of Guatemala City. Carrera died shortly afterwards and without leaving a clear successor to the Guatemalan presidency a power vacuum ensued in which Guatemalan conservatives fought to gain the presidency. Meanwhile as Guatemala City descended into chaos, liberal armies arose in the country side and from the outside, where surprisingly the peasant and Amerindian population supported. By October of 1854, the conservatives lost most of the countryside and major cities- most being forced to retreat back to Guatemala City. The disorganized army of the conservatives whom had at last found a leader prepared for defending Guatemala- the last major stronghold of Conservative forces. By early December, the main liberal army led by Justo Rufino Barrios marched to Guatemala City and besieged the city till a victory was achieved in early 1855. With the victory over the Conservatives in Guatemala City, a liberal government set up Capital at Quetzaltenango and elected Barrios as President of the newly proclaimed Republic of Guatemala. For the next few months, Barrios' government went on to completely occupy the country, ridding of all conservatives in the country. Following that came the rebuilding of Guatemalan infrastructure, economy and army, all which were damaged by the war, with the aid of Europeans, Guatemala quickly recovered from the war. As 1858 came, El Salvador was facing a similar crisis; the governing liberal party was under attack by conservative rebels hoping to oust the president, Gerardo Barrios. JRB whom had had grown close to Gerardo Barrios' government went on to intervene in the conflict. By late 1858, El Salvador was occupied by Guatemalan and Liberal Salvadorian troops, a meeting set up in San Salvador where it was agreed that a new Central American state should be created as both presidents were Pro-United Central America. With the capital of the moved to Sonsonate, a constitution ratified and an election held (Which JRB won) it was decided that all ships be sold to pay for debts, internal developments and new weapons. As of today the country is a prospering state that has begun modernizing, with economic growth and the strongest military in Central America, Centroamerica has begin meddling in the affairs of Honduras as a way to get it to join the union.

No, you never named him General, you just suddenly had him and was like " I haven't made a 50k army, but guess what guys!
