Ooh. Am I going to jump right into the Fort Sumter shooting or do we talk about our feelings and reasons for war first?

A Siamese Nation was my second choice. Good eye.
Surprisingly, Siam was powerful in South-East Asia, before the French moved in, ripped away Cambodia and Laos, and forced them to pay money. Like a lazy cousin who moves in with you, reserves a Bedroom and Bathroom for only himself, and drains your money.![]()
And by the way, you do have an Empire. You own Laos and North-Western Cambodia. All in all, that's about 2,000,000 more people.

Thanks for the population for those two areas, I'm not really knowledgeable in demographics of nations from the 19th century and below. Siam was also a top choice for me as well. I chose it for mainly two reasons which are White Elephants and the fact I am partially of the Thai ethnicity.

Ah, yes, missed your question. Well, it's because at this point Spain hasn't lost to America yet and is still a huge Naval Power. They own colonies all over the place, though their power is greatly reduced from it's former state due to several large hegemonic wars in Europe. Italy is Italy. Hell, it isn't even completely united yet. It couldn't win against the Austrian Empire without Major French help, and at this point in time is a general all-around weakling.
If you want to play as that, go ahead.

Actually, it is united, save for Rome and Venezia, which I planned to change. Also, it's one of the most likely places in Europe for a socialist revolution. And Spain is weak, compared to its neighbors, just not as weak as they will be later on.

Yeah. I love Siam for some reason. Did you know that they fought more Wars with Burma then they had ever fought with anybody else, ever? The Siamese-Burmese wars were the most common wars on the South-East Asian peninsula.

I knew that they were big enemies of each other, but I didn't know that they fought each other that much. Learn something new everyday.Of The Rnclave wrote:

How can the history beyond 1840 be unknown? That's crazy. If it's a Empire, it has records of it somewhere.
I also fail to see how you could unite Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, Paraguay, and the Galapagos in only 20 years. Many have tried. Many have failed. It simply isn't possible to unite southern South America with the technology of 1861. You need to explain how this happened.

Yeah... first off, uniting them at all seems pretty impossible (also half of those countries aren't in Patagonia). And how the hell can their history for the last twenty years be unknown? Did they have no interaction whatsoever with the outside world for two decades?

It's impossibru. The French in French Guiana would hear of it, and the British in Guyana, and the Dutch in Suriname. And they in turn would tell the rest of the world.
