Oh, that makes more sense. Well, essentially, an independent Phillipines, Mexico, and Soviet Union are attacking Japan proper. The Soviets and Mexico withdrew, but the Filipinos are continuing a bloody campaign against the Japanese. Hundreds of thousands on both sides have died so far.

However, I have done my research on the Emperor. Apparently, he had an Entourage simply screaming Peace Treaty, but both the Japanese Government and American Government totally ignored them. They drafted plans for a coup against Tojo, but these never went into action. Should Allied forces approach Tokyo, they would realistically launch a coup, overthrowing Tojo and then promptly surrender.
