Why would they care? They are mainly descended from Spaniards at this point.

A much more likely revolt would be a Mayan revolt in Chiapas state. It has the largest indigenous population in Mexico, and they formed the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, which has actually been somewhat successful in fighting the Mexican Government.

So go with the Mayans. Their indigenous populations still exist.

They're all either dead or assimilated. It would be more realistic to have Apache rebels in the north or Mayan rebels in the south. No Aztecs harbor separatist sentiments at this time, their culture is gone.

The first helicopter was the Fw 61 produced by Germany in 1936. America produced most helicopter modeled after the Fw 61. It isn't an American project. As with most American late 1940's technology, it was German tech captured by the Americans.
