He considers himself to be honorable and is willing to put his own task aside to help others that need it. He is also known to get himself in to quite a bit of trouble
Motives: To stop the Legion in its tracks and to go to the Capital Wasteland and to maybe start a family.
Backstory: Joseph was born in the ruins of the DFW Metro Area in a Settlement that called was called Landry's Valley, a area Close to Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth (NAS JRB FW). When he was 10 his father starting training how to shoot a gun and fight. His mom also died from radiation poisoning when he was 10. At the age of 18, and a lot of convincing the Council that Ruled Landry's Valley he led a party of 10 people to search the abandoned and haunted NAS JRB FW. When the party arrived at the NAS they got caught up in the fighting between bandits and Brotherhood of Steel Chapter. Everyone in the party but Joseph was killed in the crossfire. The Brotherhood then found him knocked out underneath one of the fallen party members. After a swift recovery he returned to Landry's Valley and help put together a mutual defense treaty between the residents of Landry's Valley and the Brotherhood Of Steel called the DFW Defense Force. Joseph then spent the next few years traveling all over the DFW ruins searching for other Settlements and adding them to the Alliance. After returning back to Landry's Valley when he was 24 Joseph put together the past soldiers, hunters, medics, and guards and made a organization called the DFW Rangers as a Spec Ops Unit for the DFW Defense Force. After 2 years of just fighting raids by bandits, mutants, deathclaws, whatever the Texas Wasteland could throw at them, The Legion arrived. The DFW Defense Force Stalled the Legion for a few weeks, but the far more numbers of fighting men and quality of training eventually broke the DFWDF and the Legion ran over the DFWDF soldiers and Rangers. After organizing a city wide evacuation caravan, Joseph stayed back with what remained of the DFWDF and fought a delaying action. They were soon over-ran again and the Caravan was wiped out. Joseph and the 4 remaining Rangers started towards Rat City Louisiana but his 4 Companions died along the way to sickness, to being attacked by bandits when they stopped for the night, or even Heat Stroke. He has now made it to Rat City but is worn out, sad, mad, and soaked.

Sorry if I'm being a-bit nit-picky, but a Toyota Tundra wouldn't exist in the Fallout Universe. Basically, pre-war, America stayed in a cultural stasis - everything remained 1930-50ish in style, but not in technology. Black and white plasma TVs, micro-fusion powered retro cars, etc etc.
