It will not cause civil unrest, especially not in Turkey. Turkey is very nationalist (there are flag on almost very building) and they would never let an attack on the largest, richest city go unpunished.

Sounds good, Iraq is secular in real life and is increasing ties with Turkey anyways so that's pretty realistic. The whole good relations with Egypt and Israel is kinda questioning though, considering Israel is predominantly jewish while Egypt is primarily Islamic and Turkey is for the most part secularized.
