So can we agree that the city's right between a forest and a desert, the desert could easily have some revionalthing preventing it from being lush but the forest doesn't have that issue (One RP I stuck downa god of natural disaster in the muddle of a large plains which turned it into a desert with very crazy weather).

Well considering the city itself looks like its on a mountain, having a desert on one side and a forest on the other is in the realm of reality. The mountain would halt the passage of low hanging rain clouds from dropping precipitation on one side.
