IIRC, Ecuador/Peru/Bolivia/Paraguay are untaken in SA, so I could go there.

Greece is another possibility; I could probably grab some of the Balkans, Cyprus and unclaimed parts of Turkey. Lemme check out the SA situation first, since the Andean Military State seems like an awseome name.

I'm thinking of letting Germany have Hokkaido. For one, the Mongol Uls doesn't include that part of Japan so it has to have gone somewhere.
And then OTL there seems to have been a small movement arguing for it to be bought or occupied, which then was aborted by Otto due to him prioritizing unification.
But with no Japan proper there doesn't seem to have been an obstacle to straight-out taking it (except the natives, of course, but we all know how much of a reason that is).
Also, then Germany could've been the western power that traded in opium and fought the Mongols. It could then have taken Ezo as its Hong Kong of sorts.

Take the Crusader states; they're heavily militaristic and patterned off of the Prussian style, just located in the middle-east.

Except taken to North Korea-style extremes. The state owns everything; all industry exists solely to support the military, the newspapers are under complete governmental control and everyone does national service unless disqualified by God.
