Yes.
AH, PMT, some FT.

Your test scores indicate that you are an open-minded ultra-progressive; this is the political profile one might associate with a journalist. It appears that you are skeptical towards religion, and have a generally optimistic attitude towards humanity in general.
Your attitudes towards economics appear neither committedly capitalist nor socialist, and combined with your social attitudes this creates the picture of someone who would generally be described as a liberal.
To round out the picture you appear to be, political preference aside, a considerate idealistic egalitarian with many strong convictions.

Primary Culture:Caucasian American
Accepted Cultures: All
Other Cultures: African-Americans socially discriminated against; some still distrustful of Asians.
Primary Import(s): Oil, machinery, vehicles
Primary Export(s): Cars, refined petroleum, wheat

Economy: The USA boasts a strong, capitalist economy, one of the best in the world. This is in part due to their vast amounts of natural resources and their long history of entrepreneurship. In their financial center of New York City, stock prices are steadily climbing since the Great Depression. The US dollar, the national paper currency, is trusted and valuable around the world, and is used in most international business transactions. However, in only two years, President Nixon would announce that gold no longer backed each dollar, so some value was lost there. The USA, as of 1969, has a GDP of 1075.9 billion US Dollars per annum.

Brief (Paragraph) Description of your nation's history:

After getting involved in WWII through the bombing of Pearl Harbor by Japan, the USA was a critical component of the Allies’ victory in both the European and Pacific theaters of the war, contributing many thousands of troops and vehicles to the war effort. The United States also officially ended the war by forcing the surrender of Japan with the first ever atomic bomb droppings. The need to fuel the American war machine jump-started the nation’s industry and brought them out of the economic depression of the previous decade.

However, the veritable golden era of postwar-America was quickly replaced with a deep sense of paranoia and xenophobic fear as the Chinese rose in power and Soviet relations grew colder and colder. Coupled with the global increase of nuclear stockpiles and a radically shifting social landscape at home, the 1960s were a turbulent time for American citizens. For example, children at schools were trained in atomic bomb drills and nuclear shelters were constructed across the nation.

President Lyndon B. Johnson, after taking over the presidency from the late John F. Kennedy, introduced several programs and reforms during the decade in an attempt to improve quality of life for Americans and secure presidential power for the Democratic party. However, the political backlash that followed the ongoing, unpopular and unsuccessful Vietnam War, riots in ghettos, and the rise of a powerful anti-war counterculture ensured that the Republicans would remain in control of America’s politics for the foreseeable future.

Primary Culture: Korean
Accepted Cultures: Westerners are generally accepted, so are Taiwanese and South-East Asians. Other races are generally viewed as a curiosity.
Other Cultures: Mainland Chinese, Japanese and North Koreans, former and current, are heavily discriminated against by the people.
Primary Import(s): Crude petroleum, petroleum gas, electronics, refined petroleum, coal
Primary Export(s): Refined petroleum, electronics, cars, ships, metals
Economy:
Since the Third Republic of Korea's establishment in 1963, the economy has been steadily growing at a rapid rate of around 10% a year, mostly funded by an export-based economy and business loans drawn from aid from Japan and the US. Korea has a free economy with a capitalistic ideology, though still guided by government policy and interventions, such as successive five-year plans.

Brief (Paragraph) Description of your nation's history:
After the Korean War, Syngman Rhee continued his dictatorship over South Korea, resulting in a student revolt in 1960. This was replaced by the Second Korean Republic, which was rapidly overthrown in 1961 by the military. The military ruled over Korea with the Supreme Council for National Reconstruction under Park Chung-Hee, who in 1963 proclaimed the Third Republic of Korea. With North Korea getting closer to China and growing in power, regional allies were needed. In 1965 political relations with Japan were normalised with a few symbolic treaties, though public sentiment was still hostile towards the Japanese.

All this time, the Korean military was also spending a massive amount of foreign aid money on expansion and modernisation to counter not only North Korea but also the rising China. Troop levels grew to an all-time high after the US was defeated in the Vietnam War, and propaganda-coerced recruitment drives were set up in every city and town to attract women into the already male-conscripting army. More US bases were allowed on Korean soil, and since the US allies were also considered to be Korea's allies, political and military relations with Japan and Taiwan were hastily expanded in 1967, with Korean advisor support and weapons for the growing JSDF and Taiwanese military. 1967 also saw Park Chung-Hee step down from his military position to run for president as a civilian and promptly defeated his rival. Forcing in a constitutional change to extend his term essentially forever, Park doesn't look like he's going anywhere soon.

By 1969, South Korea is one of the most fortified nations on the planet, being directly on the front lines against communism in East Asia. If Japan is the USA's stationary aircraft carrier in East Asia, South Korea is its shield and sword at the same time. Any major attack on Japan would have to go through Korea first, and while they hated defending their historical tormentors, the Koreans accept this role with pride. As the economy grows in leaps and bounds, the Republic of Korea is slowly becoming a regional power both militarily and economically.

Perhaps one day... Korea may even become whole again.

NS Name: The Community of The Miaphysite Church of Coptic Archism

Nation Name: Estado Español

Capital City: Madrid

Government Type: Authoritarian single-party military dictatorship

Alignment: Non-Aligned

Power Ranking: Regional Power (for now)

Head of State: Francisco Franco

Claimed Territory: This

State/National Religion: Roman Catholicism

Dominant Religion: Roman Catholicism

Minority Religion(s): Suppressed significantly. Possible tiny Muslim/Jewish minorities

Population: Roughly 58 million, divided as follows:
-Spain: 39.6 million
-Morocco: 17.2 million
-Equatorial Guinea: 1.2 million

Military Organization: Francisco Franco serves as the Commander of the armed forces. The Spanish Armed Forces are divided into the Army, Navy and Air Force, though there are notable units which do not fall under these general categories, such as the Spanish Legion, Paratrooper Brigade, the Spanish Navy Marines, and the Grupo de Operaciones Especiales and Unidad de Operaciones Especiales which serve as Special Forces in the Army and Navy respectively. There are also some units of the National Police which are comparable to military units.

Military Size:
-Army: 320,000 Active Personnel, 150,000 Reserves
-Air Force: 60,000 Active Personnel, 30,000 Reserves
-Navy: 80,000 Active Personnel, 60,000 Reserves
Total: 460,000 Active Personnel, 240,000 Reserves

National Flag:

Primary Culture: Spanish (Franco worked towards stamping out regional identity and diversity. Effectively, this is a warped Castillian, with influences from around the nation.)

Accepted Cultures: Spanish

Other Cultures: Regional Cultures including Andalusian and Catalan, Moroccan, Tribal Guinean

Primary Import(s): Consumer Goods, Raw materials (especially Oil)

Primary Export(s): Industrial goods, other raw materials

Economy: The Spanish Economy is somewhat of a wonder. After the Spanish Civil War and in fact all the way into the 1950's, Spain's economy was small and weak, and growing weaker. The Spanish Economy was at rock bottom, and still digging. Agriculture was slack, industry was tiny and infrastructure was damaged. However, in more recent years, the Spanish economy has somehow turned it's nosedive into a rapid ascent. This revitalization of the economy has been brought about by many factors. A growing interest by foreign investors, an economic 'coup' and the replacement of government officials in the sector with skilled technocrats, foreign assistance from Western nations and the IMF, a quickly developing Tourism industry, and the largest factor of all: really, really good luck. Spain's economy today is now a modernized one comparable to any European nation's, and in fact the growth referred to as the "Spanish Miracle" is still going with little signs of stopping.

Brief (Paragraph) Description of your nation's history: In 1936, Francisco Franco became the Caudillo of Nationalist Spain, fighting against the Second Spanish Republic in the Spanish Civil War. The Nationalists consisted of a large collection of groups opposed to the republic, such as the Falangists, Carlists, Alfonsists, and numerous conservatives, fascists and displeased military commanders. The Nationalists came out on top with some support from Axis powers and Franco took power in Spain. Spain carefully avoided joining the second world war, but in 1940 Franco's army annexed the Tangier International Zone while Allied troops were fighting in France.

After the War, Franco's Spain was an international pariah, cemented by the invasion and annexation of Morocco, less than a week after it's independence from France. However, Spain is very anti-communist and as such, arguably has more in common with NATO than the alternatives, although Franco isn't awfully interested in joining any of the power blocs. Spain soon entered the Spanish Miracle and enjoyed the second-fastest growing economy in the world. As the economy grew rapidly, the population went with it, even accepting many migrants from Spanish-speaking nations.

Brief (Paragraph)

Description of your nation's history:
(Be sure to pay attention and involve the story mentioned above!) Prior to the Cuban revolution, Cuba was the "best Friend" of America and the dictator Batista kept a capitalist system in place which lead to the masses being poor and the few massively wealthy. 1958, Fidel Castro took power in a popular revolution and took on the task of remaking Cuba. Now the islands wealth has been shared among it inhabitants and everyone has the same wadge and water, electricity etc is provided by the state giving citizens a high grade of living. The Cuban health care system in also the best in the Americas.

Now in the USA/China/USSR split, Cuba has remained a close ally of the USSR and continues to fund, arm and send troops to Soviet backed revolutions across the world.

Sorry Photana, I misread the part about JFK in the OP. However, if he got elected to a second term in 1964, that would mean that his time as President is over. And since Nixon was a Republican, we can pretty much keep the details about America's politics in my app the same. Thanks for pointing that out. Also, I know you have an ocean of reservations to slog through, but do you have any rough estimate for an IC thread?

Once the three superpowers are filled.

So basically, once we get a China and a USSR, we can start.

And the earlier reservations of those powers are now void, because I'd like to start sooner rather than later.

NS Name: Great Nepal
Nation Name: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics
Capital City: Moscow
Government Type: Single party republic
Alignment: Warsaw pact
Power Ranking: Superpower
Head of State: Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev
Claimed Territory: USSR territory as described in the map
State/National Religion: Atheism
Dominant Religion: Atheist (60%)
Minority Religion(s): Christianity (of various denominations) and Islam
Population: 240 million
Military Organization:
Military Size: 4.5 million in all, land forces consisting bulk of the number at 210 divisions in all.
National Flag:
Image

Primary Culture: Russian
Accepted Cultures: Ukrainian, Byelorussian, and other Central Asian
Other Cultures: East European
Primary Import(s): Agricultural products, machineries and consumer goods (primarily from eastern block countries enforced by military presence)
Primary Export(s): Petroleum, gas and other raw materials (again primarily to eastern block countries enforced by military presence)
Economy: While still a directed economy, recent reforms accelerated further by growing Chinese threat, has seen greater liberalization of the economy - although you certainly would be shot for suggesting such a thing officially. Soviet economy is still largely reliant upon secondary industry although tertiary sector is growing - primarily at expense of agricultural ones. While not rivalling economy of United States, Soviet economy is a significant force and steadily growing.
Brief (Paragraph) Description of your nation's history: While tensions with the United States have gone down since Cuban crisis, overall level of paranoia felt by the leadership and people has remained the same - if not grown although now looking south towards Chinese neighbour rather than towards west. Chinese actions have sent shock wave throughout the soviet leadership and in some circles (although not officially) viewed as worse than capitalism: after all capitalists are merely resisting an inevitable process whereas the Maoists are actively diverting away from it and fracturing communism as a result.

Leadership, notably younger compared to previous incarnations under Brezhnev have tackled the problem with what was described by many commentators as 'hyper-liberalism" following the push for 1965 reform, unaltered and even strengthened. In fact some older circles within the party viewed the reform as "corruption of socialist principles" and there were unsubstantiated rumours of potential coup by older membership. Under pressure to appear tough and quash any plans for coup, especially after inconclusive resolution to Mongolian crisis making him look weak, Brezhnev authorized KGB security troops "to take command of the situation in Czechoslovakia by any means necessary". The result would be 1968 completely unfamiliar to us: Prague Spring as we know it would be termed Bloody Spring.

KSČ fourteenth party congress voted unanimously to oust Dubček following his presentation of reforms - large caucus were absent from the proceedings and there were unsubstantiated allegations that Soviet operatives were actively preventing party members who may support Dubček from entering the congress. Nevertheless, conservative Miloš Jakeš was appointed general secretary same day and as his first act, Dubček was charged with various crimes including that of treason by conspiracy with Beijing and conspiracy with United States. Given the public opinion, it was also determined by the congress that Czechoslovakia lacked sufficient security to hear this case and formally requested trial to be held in Moscow although overseen by Czech judicial official. The trial held two days latter lasted for eight hours and returned unanimous verdict of guilty on all counts with sentence of execution.

As the protest in Czechoslovakia intensified, Brezhnev following apparent request for assistance by Miloš ordered over half million men from various Warsaw pact countries with detachment of KGB operatives to move in and remove any counter-revolutionary elements. Military acted to remove any protesters which in itself was condemned by the west however KGB operatives went further: they carried out raids of all houses and any individuals possessing literatures or suspected of supporting Dubček's reforms were 'arrested and tried': although given the circumstances several were caught in cross fire and died. This provoked outrage even within Russia however contingency plans swiftly crushed such rebellion. While whole ordeal was termed by many to be "tyrannical, brutal and medieval", those rumblings within the party were largely silenced as Brezhnev took podium to announce soviet union stands for the workers and will act to protect their interests against "any group which seeks to subjugate the workers by capital or by corruption of communism".

Now the leadership of the party and USSR is rather tightly formed lead by Brezhnev and moving towards greater liberalization of economic sectors.

RP Example: You know me from 2060(?) RP
