Here's a map of the world in 1700.
It's a little more blobby than my map, but they are not too dissimilar. I forgot how much further they could expand into the Peru-Bolivia area so that area on my map will be a little smaller than it was historically.
I mean, inland Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Louisiana, California, Great Lakes, all of those seem to be missing, and all of them on the 1700 world map.
An AH with less colonisation wouldn't be bad though.
Colonies map take two.
South/Central America a lot more similar to the actual world map for 1700, but there is still less than their actually was.
Also in regards to the Great Lakes and what not, I think one reason they are left well not colonized yet is players intend to RP colonizing them.

Italy is splintered, and much under the influence of Austria which is decidedly land-based and Germany-facing, north Africa poor, probably, Romania sitting happy with a monopoly on the Black Sea's gates and not being a great trading power anyway, and Occitania the only ones left, except that they're colonial too and have the land power to easily overpower Genoa.
