Tankettes are not tanks. They fulfill a similar role to armored cars in the sense that they're designed for reconnaissance, but also can provide some light infantry support. They were mostly made obsolete because of the appearance of armored cars, as a matter of fact - the latter often mounted heavier weaponry and armor, but were still highly mobile. If y'all are using tankettes, then I don't see why armored cars or other armored fighting vehicles would be a problem.

Armored cars have turrets and generally had tank-caliber main guns. Some tank destroyers, such as the Hellcat, had mobile turrets and were tracked as well. Considering mobility, range, armor, and weaponry, armored cars are more tanks than tankettes, even compared to the very early light tanks.

I've never seen whatever this is, and this isn't my RP, so its your call, but honestly, I find the idea that the inclusion of a vehicle depends on whether its tracked or not seems weird to me. Whatever though.

Well if you have no idea what the RP is then it seems kind of dumb to be posting an opinion on it.

I'm responding to what armored cars and tankettes are. That doesn't change from RP to RP. And I do have an idea of what GuP is, even if I haven't seen it.

Favorite tank: T-95
Personality: A leader-type, go-getter, and witty girl, but a bit impatient, she leads the Maya team as their tank commander.
Bio: Her purposeful leadership made her chose to do Sensha-Do along with Dalia Manrique, Angelique Legaspi, and Yanely Hermano, her childhood friends, to be part of her team. :lol2:

Yeah, no.

You don't start out with a Tiger II. A school that has just started tankery, unless they're rich, are not going to be able to afford Tiger II's. If you want to use a Pz 38(t) and gradually progress to a Tiger II, that is just fine, until then, it's unfair to the rest of the players.

Yeah, no. That's laughable at best. A tankette has all the features of a tank, it's fully tracked.

Fully enclosed tank destroyers are allowed, and have been shown in the show, so have tankettes. Both of them fit the requirements.

Please refrain from making posts on what you don't know anything about then.

I'm not going to debate the anime, if that's what they have, then so be it. I'm just here to talk technical details.

If "tracked, armored, turreted vehicle" implies a tank, then you need to go relabel half of the world's military vehicles, right now. My point here is that tankettes are casemate designs, not turreted, so no, it doesn't have all the features of a tank, and that's not getting into armor thickness/strength, armament, mobility and range, or even weight class.

Anyways, I'm out, peace.

Since I have acceptable tanks based on this RP's rules, I would like to ask:

How will you balance physical reality and the reality that Sensha-Do adopts?

And how do you deal with guys who knows and analyzes too much details?

My two questions will determine my quality of continuing to join you or just leave to continue your fantasies of "anime realism", (where in fact 99% of fiction is based in reality.)

That won't be necessary, because you aren't allowed anymore. Your behavior suggests you are one of those people who refuse to listen even when someone tries to explain things in simple terms. Please do not post any further in this thread, and that includes any snarky comebacks you feel like posting.

Hello all. Just been browsing the forums looking for an RP to become involved with (well, its my first time RPing on NS, yet not in general) and this has piqued my interest - if this is open to anyone (as opposed to confined to a group or region), I would like to give it a shot.

I have a basic understanding of GuP's premise and have entertained quite an interest in AFV history, particularly the period during the Second World War.

You're fine. Pick a tank and make an app. We are limited to crap reserve tanks to start off, as the school lacks funding necessary for things like Tigers and Iosif Stalins, but you can eventually build up to one of these late war monsters with better performance. Just no open topped vehicles and no armored cars. Only tanks and tankettes. Also, if it was exclusive, I probably wouldn't be here. So shoot, and we all look forward to having you!

Hey guys, I brought this up earlier, but would it be okay for my team to start out with an AC I Sentinel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinel_tank) and progress through its variants during the RP?

Ah, cheers! I'll get to work. In fact, I might already have an appropriate tank in mind: A15 Crusader Mk II (Tank, Cruiser Mark VI)

You can't use open topped or wheeled vehicles in tankery because it would be too dangerous for the girls.

(You can't fully protect them with a coating of carbon.)

At least, that is my theory.

Per, just remember the A-20 has a 20mm thick armor, but sloped, hence it's 20 designation. It also has the 45mm L/46 gun as it's main gun, just telling you in case you didn't know.

Hey, anyone else feel like doing a little fun project with me?

Here it is! Name the character types of your crew members! (I realize it can all be figured out from the personality sections of each characters apps, I just feel like doing something like this that's kinda fun for everyone :D)

For Example:
Kat is the loud foreign (American) girl with an outgoing personality.
Maya is the quiet mothering type.
Saya is the sharp-tongued tsundere who's actually rather sensitive.
Misaka is the hyper-active ever-hungry loli.
Hina is the deadpan emotionless type who hides their feelings even when hurting.

Well, Commander Iona is the Genius Ditz.

Gunner Maiko has chronic hero syndrome she has yet to discover and is the one to make sure they'll win by any means. She is also the most dangerous when getting violen out of them.

Loader Fumiko is clinger jealous girl for my gunner and becomes the unperson when separated.

Radio Operator Saki is the Jack of all trades Aloog Big Sister.

And Driver Nagisa is the hot-blooded genki girl, who's also a book dumb lightning bruiser.
