While it wasn't as advanced as the T-34, it was relatively reliable, while having decent mobility for the era. It also had a tank gun, not an auto cannon, but also had relatively good armor compared to the BT series, early variants of the Panzer III. It also had a radio.

I agree with the Panzer III, much more than the 38(t). Although, I feel that the SOMUA has a chance for that spot, but I'd have to do a bit more research . . .

The S35 was a good tank for it's era. And it does have decent sloping armor, but the sloping armor doesn't cover the whole of the side armor and what it doesn't cover is vulnerable enough for a Panzer III to pen.

Hey BeloRusky(yes you can put that in your sig :P) I had a Panther's side armor bounce an ISU-152 AP shot at point blank in CoH2.

I swear, the 'balancing' thing that the guys who made CoH2 do is just whack.

God... Wanna play that?

Also, early Sherman's weren't as good as the T-34s. When they got the wet ammo racks and 76mm guns, it was better contender, but you know.

Tomorrow.

Any tank in the early stages wasn't that great. But the only reason I say the Sherman was better than the T-34 was because the T-34 was unreliable in the long run, had to be maintained as much as if not more than their German counterparts. Early Sherman tanks also had a tendency to catch fire.

T-34's also weren't as modifiable as the Panzer IV or the Sherman. Also due to the T-34's being cramped, crews had a higher death ratio than their Western counterparts.

So what's everyone's favorite Cold War tank?

No paper tanks, just ones that at least got to their prototypes only counts.

Also so far I've found the M1A1(which was first made in '85, 10 years before the C1 Ariete) is better than the C1.

M1A2 trumps all modern day MBTs on the field*. So don't even mess with 'Muricaball. 8)

Yeah that's definitely the Abram's Achilles heel. It's engine. Gas guzzler, sensitive to dust and sand. The idea of putting a jet engine in a tank sounds cool, but it didn't turn out so well.
