They're tiny military models. They made of Rosin and metal, and they're really easy to put together. It's the painting that's the hard part.

I had an expert model of an Sd.Kfz. 251 with a single 2cm FlaK gun. I made the bed that the 2cm sat on then threw it away cause there was just SO MANY TEENY WEENY LITTLE PARTS. Most of which were smaller than a fingernail.

Models are usually to much for me, so I try to get pre-built ones. I have a Char B1 Bis and SOMUA S35 like that, but I also have few tiny Flames of War ones. 4 L3/35s, 2 Renault R35s, 3 Hotchkiss H-35s, and a Semovente. But they are really small.

Ehh, I tend to get them for their looks.

And honestly, a lot of the well known French tanks are good looking to me, but I always hear people say they're ugly. Now, I know now some French tanks are terrible to looks at (I'm looking at you guys, AMX 40 et Sau40 >-> but I don't see an Issue with ones like the SOMUA and the Hotchkiss.

Also, the P 40 is beautifur.

The Italian, and honestly the early German 'medium tank' titles confuse me. Most of Italian armor is light IMO(and for good reason), and the Panzer III is more of a light tank than a medium tank to me, but I guess comparing to the Panzer I and II it would be a medium tank.

I suppose, and as for the Panzer III, I like to compare it to French tanks at the time, Like the B1 Bis or SOMUA.

Well, Italian and Japan tank designations originally came for their intended purpose, to which their medium tanks were mostly for infantry support and not against tanks. That's why when the P 40 came out it was designated as a heavy tank, not because it's armor, but due to its role in the armored forces of specifically fighting tanks.

This is different with the majority of European and American designation, which were based on weight of the vehicle. But later in the war, with Germany producing a heavier medium tank, that began to change the definition of the terms. Formerly, light tanks could only weigh up to 20.0 tonnes before passing that and being considered a medium tank, which would weigh up to 30.0 tonnes and the heavy tanks being above that.

Of course. :p

And the only information I can find on the topic is somewhere this year...... Hopefully spring, I quite liked the Japanese tanks, despite their lack of armor, firepower, quantity, and advancement.

I read on a blog that they actually do have tanks like the L3/35 cc, but choose not to use them. Which is stupid for obvious reasons.

Instead of buying one medium tank (P40 weighed less than both the M4 Sherman and T-34) I would have bought a few more Semovente. Either that or M13/40 and M15/42. They're slow, but with what Oorai had, the 47/32 and 47/40 guns would have a field day.

Anzio didn't even use their tanks properly.
Ulvenes wrote:My bad, 47mm Gun.

You were right the first time. The L3/35 was modified sometime during the Spanish Civil War to have a 37mm L/26 cannon. It was the first stage in the development that lead to the L6/40.

The L3 da 47/32 was open-everywhere. It only had a gunshield on the front to protect it.

Wouldn't the 47mm have trouble with the M3 Medium, Panzer IV, and StuG III frontally?

And the M3's guns could penetrate most of Anzio tanks pretty consistently, while the StuG would be able to penetrate everyone of their tanks.

Also, reboot?

The Lee maybe not. It didn't have a lot of armor. Panzer IV.. I'm not sure if it's an H or not. If it is it would have uh.. 80mm of armor?

50mm, I think without the add-on plates in the front.

As for the Lee, regular AP from the 50mm L/42 had to be relatively close to penetrate it frontally from on the hull, so if you compare that to the normal AP round of 47mm Italian, in theory it shouldn't have that much chance of penetration until closer.

Panzer IV's after the F1 came with increased frontal armor.
