No, I mean the M1 Combat Car, the T7 was based off it.

From what I understand the M2 wasn't issued armor piercing rounds so, yeah.

From where did you hear that?

There was a reason that the .50 cal was used against armored cars and light tanks in WWII, it was because it had great AP ammunition, hence why it could penetrate Japanese tanks in about 300 yards.

I've read that the standard Ball ammunition was sufficient enough to penetrate light armor so they didn't really use AP that much.

Also found this, poor Spain.

Ball was also more effective against infantry, but there was AP capable of penetrating 22mm at 500 yards.

Wow...... Didn't more countries kind of abandon or just ripped the Future soldier program?..... That soldier looks like he would be overcumbered...

Ball ammunition was issued more often than AP cause if the vehicle wouldn't be able to be penetrated by standard then it would more than likely be too armored for even AP. So made it kind of pointless. AFAIK.

And yeah I think a lot of nations halted the future soldier programs cause of severe budget cuts, which is a shame too cause it's always interesting to see what nations will come up with.

I heard Britain was coming up with a kinetic barrier, something like a really low power energy shield from the Halo series.... And cloaking technology that makes things visually invisible.

Active camo has been in the works for a while. There's quite a few devices that make vehicles and clothing that make people invisible to thermal/IR optics.

I think a nation made a tank that had reflective panels that made it seem invisible.

Well it depends really. The G3 and G36 are both very modifiable weapon systems. So really it just depends in if you want the .308 NATO or 5.56.

The MP5 is also good at its job but it would be nearly useless against targets with body armor.

AK-47. You can use single shot with it, it's the most reliable rifle ever made, 7x62x39 ammo is common, you can attach bayonets to it easily, it's relatively accurate and I have extensive experience with it.

I would agree with that. Simply for the sheer amount of ammo one could scrounge up. But if it was fighting other people I'd probably want the .308 NATO rifle.

Are you talking about the AK-47 or the AKM?

That aside, what sidearm and short-range melee weapon would you like to accompany your Kalashnikov rifle?

Which platform would you use to deliver said .308 Winchester or 7.62x51mm against hostile people in the apocalypse?

After that, how about your sidearm and short-range melee weapon of choice? Then, the reason as to why you picked those items?

Mk 14. That way I can have all the punch of the M14, but the customization and portability of an M4.

Sidearm? Any .45 ACP. Preferably a European model because they're double stack their rounds in the magazines more than the U.S. models which are primarily M1911 styles which are single stack which only limit you to 8 rounds plus one in the chamber. I have a Sig Sauer I think and it has 12 round magazines plus one in the chamber. I actually have my own AK as well. Totally modified~

As for a melee weapon? My dad has a really old butcher's knife that's more or less like this. We use it as a machete to cut down brush, and the thing is so light, we will actually use it to chop branches instead of an axe or a hatchet cause it's near-weightless.

That makes sense, a reasonable choice to, although the only real problem you'll run across is the fact that ammo weighs heavier than the .223 or 5.56mm, so you won't carry as much. Although higher stopping power will help against living targets..

And the only pro I can think of a M1911 variant is that because it's single-stack, it's more easily concealable..... Also, what about the Glock 21SF?

I'm glad that you said something like that and not a Katana..... The only problem is the fact that you can't bash heads in..... That's more of a preference more than anything.
