Premise: As the world around them begins to freeze over, a struggle for survival begins. Man rebels against Fae, and struggles to stay warm behind a stone wall, feeding what ever they can into a mighty furnace at the city center. With the conflict brought on by blaming the Fae, and bleak appearance of the situation, some speak of leaving their city behind, but the administration will have no ear to such talk.

---

In the icy winds of winter's grip, in the fields of Willows bent, behind a thick wall of iron, and brick; rests the town of Allowue. Her heart, an Iron Stove, that heats many homes. Nature gives to the beat of the axe, to fuel the fiery with thatch. Deep with in, with it's heart ablaze, burns an even deeper rage. The Fae have raught an unjust harm, upon those they alarm. The Empire faces a threat from with in, that burns in the hearts of men.

Long conquered by winds, and tides; orchestrated by Fae design. Man, in a moment crushed, pressed to hard, their strength a must. Take up their tools, and arms; to oust their masters who have given such harm. - Poem of the First Settlers

Setting

The walled town of Allowue, with in the border of the Empire of the Fae. It's a rebel settlement that due to the Fae's supposed unwillingness to withdraw the cold, has taken arms against the Empire. However, the Ice has made it so that attacks upon them have been few, and the sending of troops into the waste, impractical. Already the willows, which provide wood for the great furnace that heats the city, have grown scarce.

The Players
Players are humans residing in the town of Allowue. Humans are the least empowered of the races, they can't cast spells, or manipulate the weather; but that's actually their benefit. They have learned to work an honest living as craftsman, and farmers; finding their own ways to connect with nature, and strive for knowledge. Humans have developed great technologies, the most recent, being the steam engine which prior to the Great Freezing, had given rise to horseless carriages, and weaving machines. Now, with fuel scarce, all is being poured into the great furnace which is the one thing that seems to prevent the population from freezing over. With things becoming harsh, many desire now to leave the city, while others, continue to insist that the best thing to do, is remain.

Lore
The Fae are a race born with the ability to manipulate nature, an ability that comes from an ancient heritage linked to Dryads, Nereids, and other spirits. The Fae are a race of disciplined warriors, imperialists bent on taming the wasteful destruction of man, and their 'machines'. A certain panic has seemed to come over them with winter's approach, and many have left the lands that had been acquired in the Great War. Land that Allowue stands on. No matter how many requests where made to banish this winter, the Fae insist they can not... it's become apparent to the majority of humans in Allowue, that the Fae are attempting to destroy mankind in a frosty tomb.

The Great War was a massive conflict over deposits of crystals able to store Magical Energy, allowing the more magically inclined races; Dragons, Sorcerers, and Fea to boost their mana reserves, and the power of their abilities. Humans had found that the crystals could be used to give weapons an added effect; shocking bullets, and canon balls of blinding light. The crystals had fueled the conflict as various nations vied for control of the resource. Allowue was part of a vast Republic, but is now part of the Fae Empire. The War has been over for more then 11 years.

Would you be able to play as the Fae by any chance?
