Also, for the forest mutants and stuff, we should use animals from those eras. Fighting sentient sea fans and flying fucking Laggania.
And holy shit, Trans. Thats finals essay lel material.

Well, eh. They're not like the Mongols or their fictional equivalents because unlike the Mongols they left a lasting impact on their regions, and actually settled there. As for the mountain folk, they're going to represent the reason why there's so many Germano-Slavic names within the army. I just need some time to do 'em.

Well, the mongols did have a lasting impact. The Yuan dynasty (also the chinese currency), the pony express, and free protected trade throughout a vast empire. Literally no one wanted to be a bandit in a mongol legacy country.
So sort of like mongols except they maybe did a lot more.
Also, I can help you with the mountain folks' language.

So just to clarify: Ezeric is comparable to Indo-European in that it has overtaken much of the area, Thornorgisil is the root of the Germanic- and Slavic-sounding names, and the as-of-yet unnamed language family is another family native to the continent, yes?

Erathemon is the Western Isle?
It was never really replaced - the left-most part of the Ezeric tree are the languages that were once spoken on Erathemon (Haggaic). But Erathemon faced a serious depopulation issue during a large portion of their history, as well as political dominance from the mainland, which allowed the Nahumic languages to slowly subsume or syncretize themselves with the native Haggaic dialects. So now, most of the island speaks Achavic, which is a fusion between Modern Nahumic and the older Haggaic language of Benaihic, which is mutually intelligible with both Modern Nahumic and Benaihic, but anyone speaking High Nahumic wouldn't really understand someone speaking Achavic.
Benaihic itself is still alive as a language but is really only spoken natively by a few thousand, mostly in the northwestern parts of the isle.

Si.
Well, close on the Thornorgisil. Thornorgisil is notably German only - they subsumed another culture that will be the equivalent of the Slavic culture, and kept a number of place names, personal names, and surnames, most of which died out, but a few survive until today.

Got it. Do we still need a name for the Slavic-equivalent family?

I'll come up with one, yeah.
EDIT: Actually, I think I won't make a tree for the Slavs. I'll make it be one of those "cultures", i.e the Kurgan Culture, the Lescaux Cave Culture, etc. They disappeared so early on in prehistory that we have no visible traces or examples of their language, but there are certain names in the Thornorgisil branch that are so un-Thorn that linguists theorize there must have been an earlier culture that was subsumed by the Thornorgisil.

In fact, I volunteer to help with the history of the world.
