(Well, you want the long or the short version. Eh, I'll give you a bit of both: Not. Well. Not well at all. Mages in the Qun are not better than dogs....no, they are treated worse than dogs. I got lucky: they'll get their horns cut off, tongues cut out, mouths sewn shut! It's horrid, and this happened just because some of us were unlucky enough to be born with a deeper connection to the Fade! .....Sorry. That was uncalled for.)

(At least in the Circle I was unaware how poorly they were treating us. You see, we lived in secluded towers where we were taught things that many people never get to learn - history, mathematics, calligraphy, reading... we were provided with everything we ever needed and while it was simple things it was still just handed to us whenever we asked. It wasn't until I went out into the world that I realized I was nothing but a prisoner that was subject to the whims of the wardens and they could have cut us all off at any time simply because they wanted to - even kill us with relative impunity. It was no way for a person to live. I did not have it as badly as you but I am angry at my treatment; your wrath is much better suited to the situation that you were in and so I am not bothered by your venting.)

(It appears we both suffered, or suffer, a fate of simply being put on the shelves away from prying eyes. Mages are seen as dangers to be contained, with reasons, I'm certain. But how could they convince us of that when they tear us away from our lives and put us in these places because they are "safe"? I did not live in a safe condition, I did not even learn of how to better my whatever-god-given skills. They gave me an Arvaraad - a retainer - and put me to war as either cannon fodder or a scare tactic. They didn't care if I lived or died, was happy or sad. I was just there. You lived a different life, yes, but you share the same feelings I have or have once had. My point is: we are both treated like crap. And we are both pissed.)
