Bio: One of Mehran's many, many adopted siblings, Niloofar, also known as Suiren in her native tongue, initially shared a similar story as every one of Mâykel and Yasamin Shirazi's rescued orphans. Abandoned at a young age, destitute and left to die in a dilapidated village, Suiren was picked up by the couple on one of their many trips into the lawless fringes of known space. Rescued from thugs by the Xorshid guardians, she found herself whisked away to the far off planet of Mervarid to live with her new family. Since, she had lived side by side with her technicolor cast of siblings, including the Shirazis' only natural born son and child, Mehran.

What was different was that her volcanic homeworld, Muramasa, was anything but the usual borderland hellhole. Among the hardest-hit in the wake of the Heathen Host, Muramasa had only just regained some semblance of order after a recent sweep by Aradain-affiliated Orders on the cathedral. In the midst of the pacification, much of the countryside remained a twisted underworld, plagued by raids by dragon hosts and other lawless bandits. As a child, Suiren was dogged by rumours of her birth, her unique ability to turn the shade of her eyes and hair into a luminescent cyan the cause of suspicion. Some accused her of being a bastard of a heathen chieftain. Others brand her a failed experiment by the host. Shunned and isolated, Suiren was close to giving up on her grim life itself. However, Mâykel's extended hand awakened a new hope in her, one of acceptance into a family that cared for her instead of her past.

You have a gift, child. Do not heed what others think you are. Become what you want to be.

Since settling in Mervarid, Suiren's gradually opened up to her new family and friends in the Xorshid order. Feisty and prone to violence at the slightest provocation, Suiren worries even the usually cool-headed Mehran. However, unlike him, she does not seek battles for fun, and often considered him a blood knight and thrill seeker. Down to earth, she also lacked the lofty ambitions of her adoptive brother and parents in pursuing the Xorshid creed. However, should any of her family be put in danger, she would stop at nothing to protect them from harm. But part of her remained haunted by her unknown past in Muramasa, held back by her own fears of what she might find out. For now, keeping Mehran in check would be her utmost priority.

• Mehran's parents have names. Shock!
• Yasmin (Mehran's mother) suffered from impotence after Mehran's birth, hence one of the reasons why they adopted children often.
• Both her given names share the same meaning, 'water lily'.
