I think way too much shit happened at once in this episode and thus I ran out of the capacity to care around Tyrion's bit.

None of it was done poorly, necessarily - except Arya's plot, which I'm bored with - but this could have been timed better.

You can't kill two of your heroes in the same episode, especially if they're the only ones fucking left.

On the plus side, apparently mine was the highest score in my uni exam. So that time was well spent at least.

I didn't approve of how they handled Stannis' part in general. Selyse committing suicide off-screen was a rather mediocre pay-off for her heartbreaking moment in episode 9. The whole aftermath of Shireen's sacrifice seemed rushed as hell, including the battle.

I think the finest moment of the episode was Cersei's part. I feel it was paced a lot better than all other parts of it.

Mind you, what disappointed me the most was Dorne. The scenes with Jaime and Bronn were fun, and the casting for Doran and Areo was fantastic, but we got very little of the last two, and in exchange we had an Ellaria that is not even remotely similar to the Ellaria of the books, and the Sand Snakes, delivering some of the worst lines of the season. Even with the pay-off in Myrcella's poisoning, it all feels like a waste of time and space.

Dorne was good filler, but it was filler.

I appreciate Stannis's conclusion in the very Sophocles way it was done -- slow buildup to quick slaughter. I will hear nothing against it.

But I hate Brienne now.

I can't give a fuck about King's Landing anymore. Maybe Kevan can rekindle my interest, but there's just nothing there that's worth it.

Hunt down Brienne. Kill her, then rescue Sansa from the snowdrift and make her queen.

Brienne will never be worthy of knighthood now. Instead of fulfilling her promise, she left Sansa to nearly die in order to fulfil petty personal revenge.

I like Qyburn and his antics enough to be somewhat interested in King's Landing. And Kevan is there, so that might help next season.

I do agree that the overall idea of Stannis' part was fantastic: Have him lose everything at the hands of his own unflinching determination to fulfill his duty.

I'm actually fond of Brienne, but then again I wasn't much of a Stannis loyalist to begin with. :P

Yeah, I got the same feeling from the books: All of the original players in the game are either dead or disgraced, and replaced by increasingly cheap substitutes. Kings Landing has pretty much burned out as a plot... but we still have Qyburn.

Well, Mel is there now, and king's blood was (repeatedly) spilt over the past two episodes.

I'm wondering if any of the Night's Watch will be left after Davos and Jon are done with them. Maybe they'll reform a Winter's Guard or something out of Wildlings and Stannis' loyal soldiers to fuck up both the Boltons and the Walkers.
