Alright, I've added Temp's work to the list.

I've also finished sketching out the wolfkin, though it can still use some work, like all the attributes. I've only recently put just how far a dragon's wings can carry one's self in association with the Dragon race.

  • Wolfkin -
    • Base Form - At rest your form is either that of a human, wolf person (ears, and/or tail), hybrid (even more wolf like), or a full wolf. Please designate your base form. This can also be your only form if you do not choose a transformation attribute.
    • Bezerker - Anger is difficult for you to contain. When you do release it, your's is the furry of nature. You'll usually attack the focal of your frustrations. One's eyes might ignite with a feral flame, taking on a yellow hue when this occurs.
    • Full Wolf Transformation - Can become a wolf breed of your choosing, the most common are Grey Wolves, and Dire Wolves. (Not available if one has Base Form - Wolf)
    • Hungry like the Wolf - Massive appetite with cravings for red meat. You burn off what you eat pretty quickly though, especially during a transformation, which just leaves you more hungry. Assuming you can shift.
    • Hybrid Wolf Form - The hybrid appearance is up to the player, and typically takes an anthropomorphic form. (Not available with Base Form - Hybrid)
    • Lone Wolf - A Loner, you become agitated in crowds, especially among those you are unfamiliar with. Your more likely to lash out while attending social events against your will. Besides, you prefer to carry out your own plans with out having to rely on someone else. (Conflicts with Pack Instinct)
    • Lunacy - Lose of civilized self, and giving into of feral instincts under the light of the full moon. Will insight transformation of your choice
    • Pack Instinct - When it comes to clicks, family, and friends you know them well. You have an unspoken bond allowing you to read those you are close to, to have a sense of what they might do before they do it, as well as what you are expected to do. Great while hunting, and also for 'wingman' situations.

Perhaps the Gnome's animal healing power should be transferred to the Elf. That way the elf could be made a clear nature figure. I'd suggest giving the gnome powers relating to fixing things, and maybe alchemy, along with invisibility and functioning well underground.

Kurama is pretty powerful.... In lore, a fox gains a tail for every 100 years it's alive (Kind of like a spider that lives for that amount of time becomes a Jorogumo). Our first task, should be determining if the same applies to our Vulpines.

I primarily based the animal healing of the Gnomes on a book I have, which speaks of early accounts of gnomes by the Romans. They where a Gaelic people of small stature who lived in the wilds, and tended the injured, and sick of the animal kingdom. Peaceful, and secluded many historians believe they were an order of druids. It's from these legends that we get our modern day garden gnomes with their red hats, and smoking pipes.

However :) I do recognize how gnomes are considered relatives of Dwarves (often with a focus on gems rather then gold). I also realize that Elves have a natural affinity, however I can't think of any legends where upon they are caretakers in quite the same way as the gnome. Invisibility has already been granted as a power to the Gnomes, however tinkering, and alchemy have not.

Thus I think we can add those, as well as them doing well underground (seeing how in most lore they live under a tree, or in a hill). Gems are good. Let's talk a bit more about that aspect of the Gnome.

I'm thinking something along the lines of Tinkerer's Insight, and Natural Brew. The first involving repair of machinery, and quick learning of it's function via disassembly, and reassembly. While the latter would involve knowledge of roots, and leaves for the creation of medicinal, and recreational substances (pipes ;) )

Indeed, here are the main three posts concerning it;

Harbertia wrote:Alright, so I finally discussed an afore mentioned idea with a colleague, and this is what we're thinking;

An RP set in a town distributed, and segregated not by race, but culture; and by culture, we mean something more then Brits, Germans, or Australians (none of those exist here). These cultures are built around a way of a life connected to a period in time; the upper left is a culture build around the 2000s, the upper right is a jazzy 1920s culture with a strong mafia following, to the lower right is a culture inspired by Mideval fantasy, and to the lower left is a Victorian society that houses a steampunk sub-culture popular with the younger generation (but having it's share of elders). These districts are joined at the Nexus, a great shopping, and government center where people from all four districts are allowed to mingle.

It's multi-species;
(Image)(Image)(Image)(Image)(Image)(Image)

The RP is planed to be a kind of free form RP with a focus on interaction in the Nexus, and between players who share a culture.

Charmera wrote:Perhaps Every culture could have access to the bending of the four elements (as such is likely very noncomplex magic). Fantasy could have access to more powerful and a wider range of magic (Invocation, Enchantment and such), the 1920's could have darker and more subtle magic (As you said, Voodoo or dark pacts of some kind). The Steampunk could have technomagic. And the Modern people could be the most magic stagnant, as technology got more complex magic got less so.

That sounds right. We should describe what kind of magic is native to each district... which is something we've just done. Though I can't help but remember that show, Sabrina the Teenage Witch; which has me thinking that some minor community might still have magics in the modern district.... perhaps someone whose wife came from the Fantasy District, and immigrated though the proper channels into the Modern District, adopting the life style, but not quite getting use to all the appliances, and thus being far more comfortable using her native magics for house hold chores. Eventually deciding that due to how the neighbors, among other concerns, to keep her magic to her self, and bestow knowledge of it to her children as a way to keep a little bit of her heritage alive in the next generation.

Still, it'd be uncommon so let's focus on what is common;

  • Modern - Basic elements, yet stagnant, no formal education in magical arts; and most modern amenities make every day use of magic pointless.
  • 1920s - Dark and Subtile, inspired by Voodoo, and dark pacts. Taking on a eerie sinister feel.
  • Victorian - Enchantment meets technology, allowing for arcane batteries which come in handy with smaller devices like artificial limbs.
  • Mid-Fan - Widest range of magics.

Automata does roll off the tongue a better. I'll have to consider the change. My only reluctance is that it'd put them on the top of the alphabetical list of races. When I had placed the Dark Mage on the top of a class list for another RP... it caused everything in the RP to be dark.

Alright, though you could stay in one district. The people choose to live the way they do, kind of like the Amish here in the United States. The cultures are built around historical, or anachronistic times.

It is a bit difficult to explain, but I just don't like where genres overlap. It always bothered me when Batman had to deal with supernatural and it bugs me when tech and magic mix. There is just a vexing quality to it.

Alright, though you could stay in one district. The people choose to live the way they do, kind of like the Amish here in the United States. The cultures are built around historical, or anachronistic times.

I don't think it matters what race is on top of the list :p

We'll try it out, most players who have voiced their district of interest have shown interest for the 1920s culture, and it's mafia tendencies. I my self am interested in the modern district, but look forward to interact with others in the Nexus. How about you, any district of interest? We do have someone looking to create a steampunk character.

Nice :)

Alright, I'm changing the race name to Automata. While I've not yet recieved input on the proposed attributes for the Gnomes, I'll attempt to find out what you think the Automata's attributes should be. I'm thinking something along the lines of energy type (Steam capacitor or Arcane Battery), Repairable, Independent or Owned, and general lot in life (what the Automata was originally built to function as. This would give people an impression of what to expect form the Automata, and thus their likely hood of hiring/purchasing them to function in a different role. Most likely the Automata would have difficulty functioning in a different role, but may have a desire to do so none the less. An Automata built as a travel companion saves it's owners daughter from falling off a ship prior to becoming self owned (or emancipated by the owner), and now has a desire to be a life saver of some kind).

Anyone can reply to the above post, or we could just get this thing going, and sort it out as we go.
