Here is something to consider working off of;

If your familiar with the Mafia style game Werewolf you have an idea of what this RP is based on, the only thing is that we wont be playing that game. Only simulating the situation portrayed in it.

This RP would be built around suspicion, and death. If you join, you'll have to be realistic in making your choices based on the knowledge your characters would know, and the relationships they have. I will however say that some, may very well know more the others.

Players will have to select one of the following classes to play as;

What each class does
Acolytes help the priest at his tasks, if something happens to the priest, one of them will take his place

Hunter
Image
A member of a secret society that hunts werewolves, and witches. As a hunter, you'll be investigating in search for your mark. While doing so, you'll be trying to keep your identity as hunter hidden, lest you become hunted by those you hunt.

The Priest holds holy rites, is a community leader. Can put a blessing on only one individual a day to protect them from the werewolves attack (Enemy of the Spellcasters)

The Seer
Image
Receives visions from the beyond and interprets them. If given the chance to read the palm of a werewolf they will recognize them as such. May receive vision of those who are about to die.

Spell caster

Werewolves

Villager
The common folk, though they can be formidable as a group.

Sub-classes
Star Crossed Lover
Image
Only two can exist, each of a different primarily class that is typically opposed to each other. If one is killed the other will also parish. Both will know what the other is.

I had ran something like this a long time back, and the only thing that hindered it, was one individuals unwillingness to allow their character to parish (he was the first victim the pack had chosen). I'm sure someone can use the idea. The only reason it simulated the situation, rather then actually being a game of Werewolf, was rumor that NS forbids Mafia style games. I did not fact check this at the time of my own work, but if one takes up the idea, or does something like it, they are free to do so... but I think RPers would prefer a simulation.

Cool, should we re-use the previous situation?
Welcome to Lodenhan, a village secluded in Deckling Groves, a shadowy land of dark oaks, and legend. A plague hit much of the neighboring lands causing an immigration of foreigners who have made the village their home.Recently a threat has been spotted in their midst. One night a hunter was reportedly ambushed by a monstrous beast,he survived, but not for long, passing the following night. A party was sent to vanquish the beast, and upon doing so discovering with much horror that upon death this wolf like abomination slowly reverted back to a local tradesman. It was obvious, their were werewolves in their midst. Legends from the old days returned to the minds of the people; "A pack must kill each night, lest they be trapped as beasts till death consumes them." Three more deaths have since occurred, and the Mayor has called an emergency meeting of the people, to discuss a course of action. The plague is still out there, to leave the village is not an option, unless death be your wish.

Start with a new one, or modify the existing one?

In the previous RP I gave the werewolves the following motive; if they don't kill someone, the entire pack will be trapped as wolves. Should this motivation be kept?

I don't know...

Neither do I. If we keep it... I just can't think of an alternative, unless their trying to kill off the hunters (like it's a game of cat & mouse but the cat keeps jumping the wrong prey).

I once did a sort of sandbox RP called Dude, Where's My RP which was like this RP playground that could be used to take a break from conventional RPs and while reception was surprisingly good I stopped paying attention to it some time ago though recently renewed my interest in it for the possibility of reviving it:

Introduction

Greetings everyone, this is your humble host and OP, Jariri [feel free to call be Jar] and welcome to Dude, Where's My RP? an RP with no set genre, giving you the player to be just about anyone you like, from a straight average joe, to a vampire, Cthulhu freak, robot/cyborg and et cetra.

But we do have a plot structure set out, the initial focal point being the the independent but small nation state of Xthveuir [yes, its supposed to be tricky to pronounce], perhaps more specifically inside its National Museum.

The plot is fueled by your imagination, so be creative, but don't spam. The possibilities are endless, from acting as a lowly museum janitor to time travelling to the past to kill Hitler, its all in your hands.

Oh my god Harb, I am so sorry.

I have no idea of the name right now.
Image

You have come from the bloodlines of mighty warriors, Hercules, Minotaurs, and even Colossus himself. You are the mightiest of them all, and can pull off impossible feats of strength that no mere man could ever hope to achieve. You feel most at home bundled up in armor, knee deep in gore, slicing your way through man and beast alike.

  • Steel Frame- You can sure take a beating. Most men would cry at the hits you can laugh off, and your skin appears to be rougher than the average humans. It resists blades as well as blunt trauma, and your sturdy frame keeps you upright.
  • Brute Strength- You prefer to utilize a method of accomplishing something primarily by means of strength, without the use of mechanical aids or, in combat, without strategic planning or tactics.
  • Bloodlust- Your constant need for the fight can lead to warmongering tendancies, and lead to reckless actions being pursued in the case of battle. The blood rushing to your head will block out most of your allies cries and commands, and you have tunnel vision on the particular enemy that enraged you.

Hea... well, even I don't know what to name it. For a while I thought you had abandoned your project. I guess your pretty much ready to launch now that you've got three primary bloodlines.

Well, Per has not got that RP up, and I wasn't able to think of a solution to the werewolf question. I've been entrenched in a newly forming RP here on NS, which has distracted me from the other RP's I'm involved in.

Still, I figured no harm would come from talking about a concept. Jariri never did reply on this thread concerning his RP, and he's been involved in school work (I believe) which causes him to be active every other day of the week.

Basically I have this fantasy world that I sometimes write short stories for. I had started one RP based on an early version of this fictional world, though over time it's expanded from a mere medieval setting into a broad world.

While the hand that runs it is enigmatic at best, shadowy at worst; it's a generally nice land where anyone can be anyone, and social groups known as cultures, and fronts influence the communities where upon they reside. Their are few laws, and no military (only a public, and secret police force). It's essentially a libertarian police state that doesn't impede on your private lives, but has you register almost everything.

In fact the communities have such a grand level of political freedom (able to establish municipal rulings on subjects of a moral nature). The cultures that inhabit the world would at times bring the image of it's being divided even while it is a single state.

I had described it to Jariri as;

... a strange world where the old, and the new exists side by side. Currency doesn't seem to be an issue in this world, and war also seems distant. Most conflict is of a domestic sort, and the world government seems distant, almost none existent. Their is a police force, but a military is unheard of, though warriors do exist suggesting a kind of militia.

Tech ranges from primativism to a modern day level, with deviance. Social events might have people coming by horse, bike, magic, or cars indicative of the 1920s. In general the people live as they so desire, ....

One might be friends with a hip hop vampire, medieval squire, and steampunk tinkerer all at the same time!

My only concern in hosting an RP in such a world is that people would focus too much on how the world government functions, rather then on simply enjoying themselves. The Only reason I choose a secret police state (known as the Cabal) was due to assuming that such would be the only way such a diverse society could be maintained, preventing one culture from extinguishing another. I'm open to changing that aspect.

Edit: Yeah, I'm not really liking the whole 'illuminati' aspect of it.

Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
