Depends on the area and amount of Nukes, considering St. Petersburg is to your south it wouldn't be weird to see large animals mutated that are slowly heading North. Ever heard of Metro 2033?

Na, the deadzones are pretty concrete where they be. South America pretty much just lost some coastal population, then began growing again.

Could we have a Guarani NPC in a portion of what was once Paraguay? They are basically indigenous Paraguayans who have reverted to their older tribal ideologies. My kingdom was initially formed as an attempt to stop Guarani/tribal invasions, and they could be an interesting nemesis faction for me. They could also pose a threat to the Holy See, which would involve the whole of the Catholic world.

After centuries of general lawlessness, an armed group of strangers came in from the north. They declared themselves to be "freedom fighters" and "bringers of democracy". After a skirmish, the armed group overpowered the scraggly gangs of Memphas, and they soon had complete control. They established a representative democracy and outlawed slavery, believing it to be evil. Thousands of escaped slaves, from Texas and Carolina, flocked into the city.

Today Memphas serves as a crossroads between the East and the West, as it is the only civilized stop for miles beyond the Wilds. Traders come from across America to set up in Memphas, and this has contributed greatly to its reputation. Many nations both like and hate Memphas, and for different reasons.

So, this is what I was thinking for an early draft of the final map. I will need some help naming nations, and some ideas for East Africa through the Lower Middle East into Southron Asia for other npc/ playable nations.

I got it... I'll show you what I'm working on in a second...

Here is the proposed NPC map.

East Africa is ruled by a number of states. Ethiopia and Sudan are the East African superpowers. They are the only East African states to use mathematics, and build using limestone. Some impressive structures have been built in the Ethiopian highlands. They are on the same civilizational level of the Middle East. The rest are sparsely populated, but strong and advanced states. Africa is rising in power and influence due to to the introduction of horses and a change of climate. Due to East Africa becoming more like a dry grassland, diseases like malaria are dying off, allowing a boom in population, and it allows Africans to finally be able to build communities close to each other and to sources of water.

South Africa has prospered due to the temperate climate and fertile grounds, allowing for wheat to be grown in large quantities. Central Africa is ruled by small, primitive kingdoms and tribal confederations, and North Africa consists of small kingdoms.

South Asia is ruled by a number of petty feudal states, most in India. One Indian kingdom however has managed to become an organized civilization and colonize Southeast Asia. Southeast Asia consists of primitive and violent tribal bands, who regularly try to ursurp one another out of power.

The Middle East is dominated by post-Islamic empires, many still fragile but great nonetheless. Mesopotamia is a superpower, and is well on its way to conquering the rest of the region. Tensions are high between it and Anatolia. These nations are some of the most advanced, boasting mathematics, astronomy and impressive architecture.
