The Battle of Oa
Daud tried not to believe too much in miracles, but that's what he would describe the feeling he was experiencing. That experience? Daud opened his eyes - able to grasp at the faint, blurry light as it flickered in and out of his vision. Nothing in particular to see, but it surprised the hyper-logical being. He was alive, he's still alive. In a sudden gasp, he breathed in deeply, savoring the glorious taste of the air despite the stinging protests of his ribs and lungs. As if by natural urging, maybe even instinct, Daud hauled himself up into a sitting position, looking at his surroundings. Everything was scarred, scorched, or just destroyed. In front of him was a massive bowl in the ground, and behind him was a long trail carved directly into the hardened ground.
Daud at first struggled to comprehend this feeling - wondering if he had really passed on at that moment, but looked down at his hand for some reason - drawn to it, perhaps, in order to explain what had happened and why he was still in the world of the living rather than wherever comes next. He managed to look at one of his hands just in time to see a Red Lantern ring give out a faint, dim glow, before flickering off completely, evaporating to dust and crumbling off of his finger. As it did so, Daud felt his body tighten - muscles and bones repairing themselves inside of his system. He was shocked to say the least, and impressed at his own body. Daud was supposed to only get energy from food intake...but in it's absence, and in order to continue living, Daud's body managed to drain the Red Lantern rings to provide fuel to make much needed repairs, and above all, continue living.
He slowly began to stand, limping a bit, but noticing he had only gone through three Red Lantern rings. He had nine more to go, smiling wickedly, as he upped the power consumption. Surging through his body, he felt true, unrestricted power flooding his veins and organs. In his base form, without his own rings activated, Daud felt immense strength and durability. He had tanked hits from Cyborg Superman, managed to keep up with his speed for brief moments, come up with an end-all plan. He praised his ability - though it still surprises him and is hard to even comprehend - as he can regenerate and then adjust to whatever caused the injury in the first place. As he finished powering up to his new level, shattering eight remaining rings that did not belong to him - keeping an additional red ring to balance out his hand and provide a back-up energy reserve.
He felt like a million bucks though, hell, he felt better than when he started the mission. Gritting his teeth, with enough force to almost tear through the fabric of reality, he remembered only one Lantern Corp remains to face the Guardians. His four rings glowed as their power intermingled and shared with one another, producing formless creations and dancing them around himself. Daud shot off to another part of the planet at incomprehensive speed and agility, arriving there almost instantly. Daud arrived at the final battle between Infinite Justice and Larfleeze, not wishing to make his presence known for the time being.
Clenching his fists, Daud caught sight of Larfleeze, and in another instant, was upon him, preparing to place himself between Kyoten and the onslaught of energy constructs. Seeing the warrior dodge them effortlessly and pouncing upon the Corpsman, Daud moved in closer - sealing the distance between him and Larfleeze to force him to face Daud at his current, raging power. Daud threw up an energy construct of gloves, spiked at the knuckles, and with hydraulics at the elbow and shoulder. Daud was ready to face the might of an entire Corps on his own.
However, he knew his team had his back anyways.
