With Sentinel and the member of Infinite Justice under his command beginning to leave, I turned my attention to Daud. "We should get going. The Red Lantern Corps only getting closer. Most of the heaviest hitters are with us as well, and I believe all of us are capable of space combat. So, if pressed we should be more than fine. I can breathe in space and my superior vision and hearing can warn us if any trouble comes too close." I advised Daud. Preparing myself for his order. I then wondered if he had any orders for us in specific, or just to follow his lead.
"So, any ideas or functions you would like us to perform on this recon mission specifically? Or should we just follow your lead? I am fine either way." I asked him. Trying to decide how he would lead us. I was somewhat uncomfortable with him leading us, as I have never fought alongside him before. Although, I trust Sentinel's judgement, and when I thought of the alternatives. I guessed Daud was the best choice. Kyoten would lead us to war with the Red Lantern corps, possibly attempt to battle Larfleeze himself out of seeking a challenge. He even came almost accused the Guardians of cowardice, or weakness and possibly both. By questioning why they could not handle a single lantern. I lack experience and Daud is the most familiar with lanterns.
"So, what is the order, Daud?"
Daud looked up his team quickly, identifying them by name, recalling information he had accessed within the ship based mostly on their powers. Nothing in-depth, but a general idea of what they are capable of. With this in mind, Daud had began to form his own plan of action. The Recon Squad was to observe, report, and engage the Red Lantern Corps. He was busy in thought, until jarred back into this reality by Solar Girl. Looking upon the girl, he was impressed, as any man would, but quickly shook that thought from his mind. They are teammates and soldiers here. "Solar Girl," He muttered, recalling her name, "We will be moving out. I shall explain on the way."
"Katsuo, Saikyo, Kyoten, let's be off as well. No need to keep our friends in the Red Lantern Corps waiting." He nodded toward Kyoten's ascended state, impressed with it's power and hoping it's speed surpassed previous levels. Daud had already formulated a mental picture for the Super Saiyan, figuring out the best way to bring out his ability without causing too much collateral damage or death. Daud smiled at the thought, knowing Kyoten wouldn't refuse, either.
With that, the Recon team made their departure. The Red Lantern Corps were further back away from the Sinestro Corps' frontline, and at all costs, the team had to keep them separated, for now at least. Daud understood his team as one of holding and forming a wedge, but knew how to defeat the Corps nonetheless. Explaining his idea to his team, Daud regulated much personal responsibility to individual action and reliance on their powers and character. "As a first precaution, the Red Lanterns have acidic blood that erupts from their mouth. Watch out for it, it will dissolve straight through flesh. As a second one, they are mindless animals, so use that to your own advantage in the following missions. Third, be calm. They feed off of your anger and rage, as well as their own. Do not fear, either, or it'll make those bastards with Sinestro even more powerful."
Daud them proceeded to issue out assignments based on his tactical model, "Solar Girl. You have speed, and if I recall, you were there to hear my plan regarding Speed Demon. To refresh, you shall act as our reserve force, but with a special assignment. Once we are engaged with the Corps, you will speed on to the frontal ranks and remove their rings. Our Green Lantern forces will then begin to take them away as prisoners of war." Daud said, turning to the two Saiyans at this point, but filling in the robot Katsuo first. "Out of sight, out of mind."
"Katsuo, you have a major advantage, as you'll be able to adapt to their acidic blood - as well as harness their energy. My goal for you is to begin a steady drain of their power - ensure that you release it back at them for maximum damage effect as well. You will be best used for the special operation I have in mind for Kyoten and Saikyo, so make sure you are aware of the symbol for that. It's starting call will be a massive power surge from Kyoten and Saikyo - hardly impossible to miss."
"Now, for you two," Daud said with a sick smile, "You'll be smashing through their ranks with myself while Solar Girl and Katsuo hold them down further, until..." He continued, trailing off for a minute, "Until we're right at Atrocious and his inner circle. They are the most powerful of the Red Lantern Corps, and will find their fighting prowess very enjoyable, especially Atrocious. You may both fight him or elect one to take him on and the other his cronies, but you have my permission," Daud declared, "You have my permission to use as much power as you'd like. Atrocious is almost unkillable in that sense, as he retains the Red Central Power Battery."
"Knock yourself out, team. Look alive, we're coming up on them now." Daud said, nodding to some Green Lantern forces dispatched to aid them as well. "Daud of Earth, we are with Infinite Justice." Daud said, speaking with one of their commanders, he supposed. A brief conversation occurred where Daud informed them of the plans, the Green Lantern commander splitting his forces into two parts - one responsible for removing unpowered Lanterns and the other to hold down the front with other members of Daud's recon team. Just as they did this, though, the full might of the Red Lantern Corps came into their view. Daud gave a sly smile, noticing his job just got a whole lot easier, as Atrocious was leading the pack.
"You know what to do. Kyoten, Saikyo." He said, turning to the two Saiyans, "Forget rage, make them feel regret." Daud began his own power up at this point, his two rings brilliantly illuminating both sides of his body as he bared his teeth - which seemed to have taken on a sharp, animalistic appearance.
