Brief Description of your Economy:Aragon is heavily industrialized but has few natural resources so it mostly depends on exporting manufactured goods made from raw materials imported from its colonies. This need for natural resources has pushed Aragon towards colonial expansion in order to feed its growing industries.
Goals: Maintain both Cultural and Political independence from Suebi. Expand in Africa and in the Far East. Assimilating colonies culturally into Aragon. Build Suez Canal
History:
Aragon was one of Charlemagne's marches into Spain. After his death the Frank empire began collapsing so Aragon broke off and formed its own Kingdom in 922. At that point it was a rather small consisting only of the city of Jaca and a small portion of the Pyrenees. It grew conquering Zaragoza from the Romans in 1118, absorbing Catalonia in 1150, taking the Balearic islands from the Romans in 1229 and finally taking Valencia from the Romans in 1238.
During the age of exploration, Aragon competed for colonies with the Suebi, focusing mainly in the far east and Africa. Aragon started the slave trade in 1508 exporting slaves from Africa to the empires in the Americas. In 1521 Aragon claimed and conquered its most valuable possession, the Philippines. The Philippines became a gate way to China and made Aragon very rich by exporting spices and silk. Timber from the Philippines was used to build Aragon's fleets which were used to subjugate the Mediterranean. In 1612, Aragon went to war with the Barbary Pirates in order to stop their interference with Aragon's trade routes Aragon was able to sucessfully conquer Algeria in 1616 and then Libya in 1623. However the war drained Aragon's treasury which lead to the break away of various Italian states Aragon had previously conquered during its golden age.
In 1676, the Aragonese nobles, angered by the monarchy's economic mismanagement of the KIngdom, rebelled against the King demanding say in how Aragon was run. The King caved in and the Aragonese Parliament was established. The kingdom enjoyed about a century of peace and prosperity after the establishment of parliament however by the end of the 18th century a class struggle began emerging as Aragon's industries began to grow. Republicanism began gaining ground among the poor however the ruling classes have continued suppressing the movement keeping it small but none the less growing among the rising numbers of poor factory workers and city merchants.

Nation Name: Persian Empire
Symbols:
Homeland Population: roughly 25,000,000
Imperial Population: N/A
Location/Claims: 37
Capital City: Tehran
Government Info
Government Type: Absolute Monarchy
Brief Explanation of Government: The government is run by The Shah who has all the power, and anyone who threatens his position is killed. Because of this, sometimes assassins are sent by rivalling aristocratic families, but the chance of success is fairly small. The Shah does have several handpicked aristocratic advisers.
Ideology: Liberal conservatism
Leader: Fat'h-Ali Shah Qajar
Population Info
Brief Description of your people: Persians are multi-cultured, hard working and chauvinistic people. They mostly work as farmers though some are merchants or craftsmen. The population mainly consist of middle-class people although there's a high poverty rate and slavery is very common.
Religion plays a very big role in people's lives as the majority is very religious and priests are payed a lot and they're high in the hierarchy. However, these priests are often corrupted or driven by money.
Religion: Zoroastrianism
Ethnicity: Persian, Greek, Turkish
Main/Accepted Culture(s): Persian, Greek
Other Cultures: Turkish, Arab
Military Info
Army: The Persian army is organised yet it isn't really modern, it consists of:
· 75,000 Nezam-e Jadid troops, these are standard infantry troops armed with muskets and sabres. They're stationed in Tabriz, Tehran and Mashhad.
· 30,000 cavalrymen who are highly trained and a part of the Persian military tradition. They're stationed in Tabriz.
· 10,000 royal guards, they are the elite of the army, stationed in Tehran
Navy: The Persian navy is relatively modern and well trained, but government reforms want to make it even bigger. It consists of 70,000 men, stationed in the Bandar-e Anzali, Bushehr and Bandar Abbas.
Other Info
Brief Description of your Economy: The Persian economy is primarily based on agriculture and livestock though it is also fairly modern because of foreign traders and many economists who work for the Shah.
The most cultivated crops are the peach, pistachios, berries and apricots; these are also the most exported crops. Because the land is not that fertile (53% of the total area is non-agricultural), a lot of people depend on livestock, particularly sheep, goats, cattle and pigs.
As trade is also a big part of the economy, there are many large markets in Tehran, Tabriz or other coastal cities.
Goals: The Persian Empire wants to restore its power in the Middle-East by becoming as large as the Empire during the Antiquity, it also wants to trade more with the Far East.
History: As Persia never became muslim, they feel a lot more connected with the ancient Persia. After Alexander The Great conquered Persia, the Persians now hold a grudge against the Byzantine Empire, as they think (or want to believe) they were responsible for what happened.
The Persian Empire was also a lot more connected with the Far East and India specifically because of trade.
The history is basically the same as IRL except that they didn't turn muslim and they stayed approximately the same size throughout the history.
