Born in one of the many villages in the Kingdom, Avena learned how to handle a rifle at a very early age. Her father was one of the best marksman in Vale, earning high respect among many Hunters and Huntresses, as well as envy. It was widely known that many people around Vale hated her father for his arrogant attitude and demeanor towards women. Despite all these negative things, Avena's mother fell in love with the smug sniper.

Shortly after Avena's birth, her mother died from blood loss. Distraught from losing his love, Avena's father gave up the dangerous life of a Hunter and focused his time on raising Avena. Growing up, Avena found an interest in her father's hunter days, admiring the adventure and heroism. She quickly decided to become a Huntress, just like her father. Much to his misfortune, Avena developed the same cocky and rambunctious personality that her father possessed. Unable to deny Avena's dream, her father decided to train her to become a Huntress. He trained her to use his weapon, Grimsbane, and quickly discovered that she shared the same semblance that he has. He found solace in the fact that she was growing up to be just like him, though he also showed some concern. He had made many enemies in his lifetime due to his personality. She showed great skill in using her father's weapon and her father eventually pasted Grimsbane down to her. She continued to train hard with Grimsbane and her semblance for a couple more years, earn a reputation as one of the best shooters in the area.

Due to her father's encouragement, Avena took the entrance exam to get into Beacon Academy, passing with flying colors. She backed her bags as quickly as possible and headed straight for Beacon. Finally, she was going to realize her dream.

Within seconds, she can judge distance, wind, and trajectory before pulling the trigger. She only needs to look though the scope for an instant before precisely hitting the target. One night, when her father was on patrol, Avena heard two different gun shots coming from the sector that her father was patrolling. She knew the distinctive sound of Grimsbane, but the other gunshots were unknown to her. She was concerned because her father was suppose to be the only one in that area and she knew about the rumors about people hating her father. Avena ran out of the house as quickly as she could and headed towards where she heard the gunshots. When she got there, she found her father laying on the ground in a puddle of his blood, several bullet holes in his chest. Grimsbane was laying next to him as well as an unfamiliar weapon covered in blood. A blood trail was leading from her father's body to the woods.

The Authorities never found the killer and Avena spent the next several years doing various odd jobs with Grimsbane by her side. No matter how many jobs she took, Avena became obsessive with finding her father's killer. All the leads she ever followed ended in a dead end. She spent several sleepless nights trying to figure out the case tha the authorities gave up on a long time ago. Due to her skills as a Huntress, Avena was accepted into Beacon Academy. The excitement in being accepted took a back seat to depression, since she had no one to share in this tremendous moment.

It looks fine, except for the bio. That's very generic sounding, "my family's dead and now I have to do X now," comic book revenge-ish. It hardly sounds believable to me, especially in the age where there are foster homes for kids and most kids don't go hunting Grimm and doing various odd jobs. Lot of people forget that our characters are little more than children: have them act like it.
