The Germans control the Suez canal I'm pretty sure. They wouldn't have bothered annexing eastern Suez if it wasn't the part with the canal.

Actually I think I will switch back to Venezuela.

State and Diplomacy
[Short] Name of State: Venezuela
Native Name of State: República Bolivariana de Venezuela
[Complete] Name of State: Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Flag/Banner/Seal:
Image
Image
Head of State: President Nicolás de Perón
Territory: Venezuela in North America
Claimed Territory: The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela claims Western British Guyana.
Protectorates, Vassal States, etc: Colombia is practically a vassal.
Alignment or Alliances: Venezuela is aligned but not allied with the USSA (United Socialist States of America) because of their similar ideologies (Bolivarianism and Communism). But generally does not involve itself in foreign affairs to much.

Government
Type of Government Presidential republic with a strong President and a weaker Parliament.
Head of Government President Nicolás de Perón
Ideologies: Bolivarianism

Economy
Main Exports: Petroleum, Timber, Iron, Gold
Main Imports: Vehicles, Broadcasting Equipment
Other information: The economy is a mix between planned and free market. The government commands key industries such as Petroleum and Iron, which the government has a monopoly on through state-owned companies through which it holds the highest share on. While other industries, though still highly regulated by the government.. Though the government still generates profit on these industries through taxation, the market is thriving. Agriculture is highly organized and state-subsided. Corporations have no business in agriculture and their are laws forbidding their involvement. Only small heavily monitored companies are allowed to exist.

Population and people
Population: 23,550, 600
Main National Culture: Venezuelan Mestizo
Accepted Cultures: Aboriginal Cultures, Indian, Portuguese
Cultures: N/A
Cultures scapegoated, or just asking to be scapegoated There is no scapegoated culture.
National Language(s): Spanish
Recognized Languages: Various aboriginal languages
Minority Languages: Portuguese, Hindi, English, Judaeo-Spanish
Main religion(s): Catholicism
Minority Religions: Protestantism, Hinduism, Judaism

Military
Ground Forces:
Active: 150,000
Reserve: 300,000
Description: The Army of Venezuela is high in numbers. They have modern weapons, imported from America and Russia and made in the nation's burgeoning new industrial factories. They are well, but not excellently trained, the soldiers are very patriotic and lead by brilliant generals. The command structure revolves around the President, who is also Commander-in-Chief. There are several Armies which are commanded by a Marshal, who are answerable only to the President. Armies are 50,000 men each. And are subdivided into 5 Legions of 10,000 men each. Which are then divided into Battalions of 1,000 each, followed by Squadron's of 100.
Naval Forces:
Ships: 125
Submarines: 25
Description: The Navy of Venezuela is not the best in the world. Most of the ships are old WWI-era dreadnoughts and Ironclads. The sailors are generally well-trained and adept seamen. The Navy is only ever going to be used to defend the coast, not large-scale sea battles. The navy is divided into squadrons of 15 each. The President commands the navy but delegates most of his power to the Admiral who in turns delegates it to the Commanders of each squadron.
Air Forces:
Planes: 575
Description: The Aerial Forces of Venezuela is powerful. They do not have very many reconnaissance planes. But they have excellent bomber planes and fighter planes. Like the Bolivar 1-1 plane, a bomber designed and produced in the new and growing industrial base. Planes are into squadrons based on their types of plane and classification. Our the Revolucion F6 a fast, maneuverable and powerful fighter plane. The President commands the air force but delegates power to the Air Marshall who in turn delegates power to the individual Squadron Commander.

Other
History: Everything is the same as in real life until 1914. The discovery of oil reserves, creating an economic boom and switching the economic focus from agriculture to industry proved to be key to Venezuela. By selling oil to both the Central Powers and the Allies they greatly increased the wealth of the country. Using this new wealth the government began to invest in the Five Year Plan, which specified for a new economic model, by reforming the business model and loosening restrictions to increase investment the plan, the plan helped industrialize Venezuela creating a vibrant industrial scene. Foreign business' started employing Venezuelan workers and by outsourcing to Venezuela.

Many people moved away from traditional farming into the now profitable industrial business. But as restrictions loosened the economic situations deteriorated. By 1926 the government had stopped making money on the oil business, because they had completely privatized it. In the government under President Raul Trinidad realized and the right-wing People's Front acknowledged that their model had failed. But they still refused to let go of power. But they still began to slowly tighten restrictions.

In 1927, three high-ranking members of the military, Lt. Gen Juan de San Dominigo, Lt. Col. Nicolás de Perón and Air Marshal José Cervantes established the Bolivarian Committee for Venezuela, inspired by Simón Bolívar's ideology. On March 1st, 1927 they lead the army and various civil factions in a bloodless coup. Raul Trinidad and his government fled the country for Colombia, where the Colombian government offered him asylum. The army followed him, invading Colombia the day after. They quickly marched through the country and defeated the Colombians at Bogota a week after. Colombia was defeated and the Treaty of Bogota imposed harsh terms. The Army of Colombia was permanently capped at 80,000, and Venezuela was given control of Colombian foreign policy.

The Committee quickly remodeled the nation, tightening restrictions on the economy and imposing a Bolivarian constitution. Soon it became obvious that Nicolás de Perón was the dominant member. When the military junta was due to expire on the 1st of December they determined that Nicolás de Perón would take control as the First President of Bolivarian Venezuela. He would rule as Provisional President until elections could be conducted, which he won. And has ruled ever since. And has reformed Venezuela into a mixed economy, strengthened democracy and is improving the military.

There are several Armies which are commanded by a Marshal, who are answerable only to the President. Armies are 20,000 men each. And are subdivided into 4 Legions of 5,000 men each. Which are then divided into Battalions of 1,000 each, followed by Squadron's of 100.
Naval Forces:
Ships: 15
Submarines: 3
Description: The Navy of Venezuela is not the best in the world. Most of the ships are old WWI-era dreadnoughts and Ironclads. The sailors are generally well-trained and adept seamen. The Navy is only ever going to be used to defend the coast, not large-scale sea battles. The navy is divided into 3 Squadrons of 5 ships and 1 submarine each. The President commands the navy but delegates most of his power to the Admiral who in turns delegates it to the Commanders of each squadron.
Air Forces:
Planes: 100
Description: The Aerial Forces of Venezuela is powerful. They do not have very many reconnaissance planes. But they have excellent bomber planes and fighter planes. Like the Bolivar 1-1 plane, a bomber designed and produced in the new and growing industrial base. Planes are into squadrons based on their types of plane and classification.

Ferdinand I Wittelsbach became King Consort of Spain in 1906, as he was married to Maria Teresa, next in line to the Spanish Throne when King Alfonso XIII was assassinated.

Maria Teresa died in 1912. This leaves Ferdinand I unmarried and, in this timeline, childless.

Ferdinand I was married again in 1916, but with whom?

Which family provided the King of Spain with a suitable wife?

No, but neither side can really claim to fully control it either, seeing as the other side could easily close it.

I'll still appreciate the investment.

Cool! Maybe we could even negotiate a trade agreement?

Obviously nothing of this should influence the governments in anyway, so do not be suspicious

Sounds good to me. We'll help you do it as well. We usually do coup's instead of wars, (except in Mexico lol) but that works too. We'll especially help in Ecuador so we can get the galapagos as a naval base.

Unfortunately in South America were we to coup them we would just be counter-couped by those bastards in Brazil so I would prefer invasion in certain cases. Like Peru and Colombia. But Ecuador we could coup easily.
