Not that I recall, no.

So much of the cavalry producing provinces of the Seleucids have revolted. Carthage is on their last legs. Macedon is starting to flex its muscles once more. Ptalomaic empire has a dilemma of a manpower shortage, but giving training to the egyptians may be bad because uprising.
Basically everyone that isn't rome is fucked.

Mhm.... true. Maybe have, as a sort of PoD, some sort of non-ASB fuckup happen to Rome to tip the scales?Terminus Alpha wrote:I'd like 166 BCE. There was a Jewish revolt at the time, and that interests me.
True, True. Wait, I believe it happened shortly after 166, didn't it? I recall it being in the 16th decade BCE, but I don't recall which year exactly.

Well, Scipio could lose his campaign in Spain against Hannibal's brother (which almost happened irl), and he gets recalled. Then, we have the Carthaginians winning in Sicily, which opens up Hannibal's supply lines, and allows him to besiege Rome and force the Romans into a peace.
Also, this period of instability is perfect for RP, because decisions can be made quickly and have drastic effects.

Before you know it, you have steampunk flavored trench warfare. With clockwork automatons and Lunar Anarchists! On the moon! How amazing would that be?
This sounds pretty cool!

Ideas that I think would be interesting so far:
-The Americas keep horses, camels, and perhaps mammoths in some places, as analogues for similar Eurasian animals, increasing the power of Native American nations
-Various nation-states based on IRL tribes

Based around the premise of RPing nations from prehistory to the present day.

Basically a big old RP series.Based around the premise of RPing nations from prehistory to the present day.
In about 3 weeks, I'd be able to properly stir up discussion and ideas and set out the groundwork, and in another couple weeks from that, the RP would be launched. If people are interested.
It'd be different from most in its much harder historical character; Why The West Rules will most likely be the most important text for understanding "realism" in the RP.

Why The West Rules for anyone interested. Good book, would recommend. Also very relevant to much of our AH, IMO; in fact, it contains a passage of AH and refers back to AH and related genres often. Basically a book explaining how and why we got from the ancient world to now the way we did in terms of power balance with plenty of useful numbers, reflections while not being dry. I really really ought to read Guns, Germs and Steel though.
