Isn't it usually transliterated as tovarishch?

Google seems to yield a wide variety of transcriptions, tovarishch, tovarish, tovarisch, tovarich, etc.

Because people want drama, cool new Cold Wars and they are not aware how much better the Eastern European life has become without communism and the Soviets.

Besides, most P2TM professionals don't bother with modern RPs. Filled with Diplomacy level RPers and either completely unrealistic or boring.

Pretty sure the shch sound is the right one cause of the letter used in russian.

yes, i'm in empirepowers
I'm the admins
all of them

I rarely go further than WWI, and I definitely have quite a dislike for Cold War and onwards (though it varies at different points; present day is better than late Cold War, for example), but I wasn't aware that was a trend followed too far.

I dunno about eastern Europe that seceded, but population growth and life expectancy, along with some other quality of life factors, dropped significantly in post-Soviet Russia, and are only now recovering.

That's mostly due to the bad economic path that Gorbachev put them on at the end of his time and the recession/whatever that hit the Russian Fed following the dissolution of the USSR. Now they have skyrocketed well beyond whatever they could have been given the same amount of time. As well, with the end of the "Molotov Plan" economics in Eastern Europe, their economies have been able to skyrocket and their lives have been significantly better on average.

By chance, does this Molotov Plan happen to include throwing fire filled cocktails at the Eastern European economies? If not I am severely disappointed.

:P If I recall, the Molotov cocktail was named after a revolutionary leader who came up with, or at least introduced to mainstream usage, the idea of the weapon, which was then used because of the desperate situation they were in. Not sure if same leader.

Perhaps skyrocketed isn't the word but those economic factors.

And yeah same guy but they were named to mock that guy, Vyacheslav Molotov, Foreign Minister of the USSR.

Oh, well, I meant, for example, Russian life expectancy only recovered to 1988 levels in 2013.

Yeah. It can do everything from this to this to this to this to this to this. It's no wonder people are worried about it getting monopolies on things.

Ah. Well people still generally like the Russian Fed more than the oppressive USSR.

Yeah, socially it's much better, but it's surprising how close they are economically.

Entirely agree.

Obvi there is room for improvement, but in every society where things are better there is always room for improvement, to make things more good.

Except in the Netherlands.

Treatment of homosexuals was better in the 80s USSR tho.

Though I guess equally, some other things weren't.

While it might have been better for the gays, not always the case for every other group.

Homosexuals weren't persecuted directly, but it's important to remember that homosexuals are also everyday citizens, and in general everyday citizens had a pretty bad time in the Soviet Union (Or, at least, a worse time than most citizens in the Western world).

This is the Cold War equivalent of making an AH where Worst Germany pulls off Operation Unmentionable Sea Mammal. >:u

Weren't homosexuals considered "unnatural/capitalist corruption" under the Soviets?
