Day 1 | Battle Summary
Brief Summary: Welcome to 1861, the United States has been torn asunder and brother fights brother, father fights his son. There will be two elements to this RP. The internal faction RP and the battle threads. The goal is to create an all encompassing Civil War Era thread that captures both the battlefield and the home front. Choose a historical person/ general or invent your own, it won't affect the game. It is up to the players to determine the outcome of the war.
In this RP players will take command of an entire corps on either the side of the Union or the Confederacy or become one of the citizens on either side. The Corps is a combined arms force designed to operate independently, therefore player Corps could band together for larger battles, or operate alone. This RP will focus on battles but also paying close attention to resources and manpower on each side. My hope is to set the framework for a style of war-focused rp that could be exported to other conflicts, especially the Napoleonic. Players will be able to design their Corps from the ground up. If necessary, they may take players to be their Divisional commanders etc. Players will decide the fate of the war based on cooperation, strategic planning, and rping. The rp will use a mixture of stats and rp to determine outcomes.

Utilizing a point system players may generate a corps of quality, quantity, or a mixture of the two. For example, players are given 18 points to spend. Infantry brigades (3,000 men in 3 regiments) cost 1 point, Artillery/ Horse Artillery battalions (30 guns, 400 men) cost 3 points, and Cavalry brigades (3,000 horsemen) 3. Any unit may be declared as "Elite" for an additional 2 points for Union forces and 1 for Confederate. Cavalry costs so much because cavalry became organized as independent organizations and players shouldn't fall into the trap of using cavalry too much in combat. Cavalry had great strategic and operational value for scouting and harassing, but not as much tactical value. Engineering Companies may be purchased for 1 point. They can assist greatly in border & river crossings, fortifications, etc. Maximum 10 Infantry units per corps. Remember, larger forces are harder to supply. Confederates are recommended to go for quality and the Union for quantity.
