The US, in response to Japan's growing fleet of Sea-bases, commissioned the America-class Supercarrier in the 2030s, with around 14 entering service. The US maintained a number of advantages in the Pacific region, primarily Airpower. The USAF had began building the first 6.5 Generation Fighters in the 2040s, and the result was the fearsome F-48 Sabre II, the frontline USAF and USN fighter, and the first capable of both outer atmosphere and stratospheric flight. Though controversial in both development due to costs, the Department of Defense ended up purchasing them in high numbers, which operated both of the USN carriers, and the US bases in the Pacific, as well as on the US bases on Mars.
