"Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. Long ago, it breathed new life into our system. Rain washed over Mars. Fresh air cleansed the skies over Venus. Soon after, humanity raced into the black, and colonized these newly made worlds. It was a time of miracles - a great Golden Age.
It did not last. The Traveler had an ancient enemy. A powerful darkness that found us hereon Earth, and nearly destroyed us. No one knows exactly what happened in those final moments, but we know this: we survived, and we owe our lives to the Traveler.
In our darkest days, Humans, Exos, and Awoken found the Traveler where it made its last stand, low above Earth, silent and immobile. We built the City - our last - within its protective veil, fighting countless wars to keep its peace. From that dark age, Guardians were born.
Now, a new are has begun, and the only hope for our future lies in unlocking the greatest secrets of our past. You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield some of the Traveler's incredible power. You are taking this mantle just as a new day dawns. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks have finally returned to our long-lost worlds, only to find out we are not alone.
Defend the last safe City on Earth. Defeat our enemies. Explore the ancient ruins of our Solar System. Discover all that we have lost.

Become Legend.

Warsaw, Old Poland
Earth

The skies roared above the abandoned city that had once been known as Warsaw in previous time as the massive machine made its way through the sky, thundering in the direction of the Last City, flanked by several dropships. The Ketch was large, larger than some of the old colony ships, even, and within were countless of the plundering aliens known as the Fallen. There were many of them, and all of them were armed - from the lowliest of Dregs to the mightiest Captain, each and every one of them was ready for battle. A small trial of smoke trialed behind the Ketch, reminding of the impact it had only recently suffered as other, enemy ships had opened a hole in the ship's hull, allowing the City's fabled Guardians entry, in a selfless act of heroism - a boarding action. The Ketch was closing in on the Last City, and it had to be eliminated before it could reach the Wall - no matter the cost.
Eight Guardians had made entry, spread across four Fireteams - two made up of three Guardians, with the remaining two forming their own Fire'team'. More Guardians were on their way as reinforcements, should those deployed need it, but they were delayed - in the Ketch's trial had formed a massive surge in Fallen activity.

Fireteam Bravo, formed of a Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, were first into the breach, together with Fireteams Alpha and Delta. They were followed by Fireteam Gamma, entirely made up of Hunters. Having boarded the ship, each Fireteam set out to fulfill their objective. Fireteam Bravo was to find the leading Fallen Captain, and to dispatch him - without any strong leadership, the Fallen would surely fall into disarray. Fireteam Gamma, the hunters, had another, crucial task: Gamma would find the High Servitor on board, and kill him, severing the Fallen of their link to the Aether. It was another, vital task, for without the Aether, the Fallen would wither and die. It were two smaller tasks that were given to the remaining two Titans. Fireteam Delta, and it's Titan, would follow the hunters in their search for the High Servitor, while the Awoken Titan of Alpha would locate the engine room, and destroy it and, with it, the Ketch. It was a dangerous task, and would serve as the backup plan: were the other Fireteams to fall, the Fallen would not get away with it - not alive, at least. The Ketch would be detonated, the threat of it permanently removed, another foe of the Traveler removed - another piece of Darkness vanquished by the champions of the Light.

Emilia, the Awoken
Fireteam Alpha, Ketch

Emilia studied her environments closely as she slowly made her way through the Ketch, scout rifle held closely. It was rather tough navigating the ship on her own, but luckily, she had the help of her Ghost, which made things a bit easier. Unfortunately, the little floating robot still had to actually map the Ketch, and it, as always, needed to hack its way into the Fallen systems, and that'd take some time. Emilia was pretty convinced that there'd be plenty of Fallen drawn to her location because of it, and that wasn't something she wanted - especially not since the terminals they'd seen were all in clear view, with no cover nearby. As she continued searching, she finally found what she sought - a terminal, with actual cover nearby. Looking around, and finding that there were no Fallen nearby, she approached it, and her Ghost floated towards the terminal.

"This will take some time..."

Archangel placed a magazine into Red Death, and pulled back the charging handle moving a polished brass colored shell snugly into position in the barrel. He ran a sharpening stone along the bayonet of the rifle one last time to ensure it was still razor sharp. "Let's find the captain, and end it's pathetic life." Archangel looked around the room, and spotted two dregs near the door. "When you are ready we can take them out simultaneously."

Landing with a thud onto the deck of the Ketch along with the rest of her Fireteam, Nikki had tried in the past to come up with a name for what they did, or even a name for their little group. Sure, the two other members of her little family had names involving Wolves, the predatory creatures that stalked the night in the far corners of Old-Earth, and right into the storybooks as well. Still, naming their team after the Wolves would be too obvious to anyone else, so Nikki simply called them by their assigned team name, Gamma.

Jigoku Scout Rifle in hand, the fireteam leader remembered their orders. While the other fireteams had their own objectives, her own team had scored the honor of destroying the High Servitor of the House. Nikki had never done so before, but she knew that her Hunters were capable enough to get it done.

"Alright, guys, listen up." She spoke over their comms. "Wolf, and Wildfire, we're to assassinate the House's High Servitor, while Bravo takes out the Captain, Delta's Titan is moving with us, and Alpha's Titan's going to take out the Jump Drive. Stick together, and don't let anything get close enough to have to watch our backs."

Syrus hefted the sniper rifle onto his back and sighed. His Ghost appeared beside him, "You're sighing? Please don't tell me you're bored. We're in a Fallen Ketch. It's dangerous here." Syrus chuckled and raised his scout rifle to look ahead, "No, no, it's not that. It's just... I hate Servitors. I hate Fallen in general, but those damn Void balls..." The Guardian known as Wildfire shivered and took a dozen paces forward, waving his arm to Wolf and Nikki, the other two members of his fireteam. "Besides, I dunno about these girls. They're both nice to look at, but you think they're up to it?" Syrus' Ghost bobbed ahead of him, "You're always so negative. Give them a chance. Who knows. They might be able to do things you can't." Syrus was happy his Ghost couldn't see him rolling his eyes through his armored mask.

The two dregs that Archangel had sighted were indeed easy targets for them to take out, Gregory shifted his Naraka's sight upon the forehead of the leftmost fallen who appeared as oblivious of Bravo teams presence as the rightmost was.His aim held steady and his breath was slowing to a natural rhythmic beat as he as he prepped for his shot. The trigger finger slid along the handguard of his scout rifle until it twisted like a boa constrictor around the trigger, a soft but consistent muscle in his pointer finger began to pull back.Anticipation release adrenalin through Gregs veins giving him the start of a combat rush that would soon spiral into a full high, he could wait no longer.

"Lets rock and roll." He said with a dry mouth, giving a nod to Archangel and Baligant.

Archangel took aim at the dreg on the left, aiming the skull sight of Red Death at the center of the dregs head. "3.... 2.... 1.... Fire." Archangel squeezed the trigger sending the three bullets flying at his targeted dreg. The three bullets smacked into its head mere milliseconds between each other. The bullets knocked the dreg's head off causing its soul to violently escape through the cavity where its head once was. He had always wondered what was escaping their bodies as the only research he did on the fallen was how to kill them more effectively.

His sights were aligned and his eyes were focused on the center of the targets head, it was a perfect shot to take and it was all his. Then Gregory watched with hatred in his eyes as the leftmost dreg that he had been aiming at, suddenly had its head explode into a shower of meaty pieces.Silently he cursed Archangel for stealing his kill and forcing him to make a split second sight adjustment to redirect his rifle toward the rightmost dreg.It reacted like anyone who just saw their comrades head dispersal into a pink and grey mist of cranial matter, with what many guessed was the creatures soul escaping through its now open-topped neck. The right dreg did a slight jump from the sound of the gunfire and began to raise its alien weapon in their direction.Gregory steadied his aim and pulled the trigger in a quick jerking motion, the first shot hit home on the creatures chest but Greg would pay for the jerking of the trigger as his second and third shots hit it's shoulder and luckily it's neck.

It dropped to its knee's onto the floor grabbing at it's neck as the beasts "soul" began to leak out of the wound.Gregory hated bad handy work, so he stowed his rifle as he charged out into the open drawing his combat knife as he ran.The dreg could clearly see him now and hefted its weapon with its good arm in an attempt to fire on him as he approached it.But he was quicker than the injured thing as he closed with the knife fully drawn and plunged it into the fallens skull, releasing the "soul" from the gaping hole in the top of its head.

"Better choose your targets better tin man,or else I may not be able to clean up your mess next time" Gregory spat the words out in an rush of adrenalin and hate towards Archangel as he withdrew the knife from the body, letting it slump to the floor.

"Sorry I was too busy concentrating on not missing that I didn't notice the particular direction your gun was facing so I had a 50/50 chance of choosing the correct target. Nobody is perfect." Archangel dashed over towards the door, and slid to the doorframe. He checked the ammunition counter on the end of his gun before peaking his head around the corner. The hallway was clear, but archangel could see the shadows of approaching down the hall. "Multiple contacts approaching. I can't make out all the silhouettes, but there are vandals as well as dregs."

"Dad always said your kind couldn't multitask all that well.So don't worry I understand" Gregory said sarcastically, wiping blade of alien blood onto the fabric of his pantsleg.

He rushed up to the side of the metallic door frame opposite to Archangel, pulled out a grenade and primed it for detonation once he threw it but decided to take a peek to get a good look at the approaching fallen.Quickly he poked his head out into the hallway beyond and for a moment couldn't see anything approaching their position as he peered out into the dimness beyond.Bolstered by Archangels observation he leaned out further to get a better look into the hall."I don't see ..." *SWOOOOSH* his words were cut short as a sword from a stealth vandal appeared out of nowhere and skidded off of Gregorys helmet as he pulled back just before the creature could behead him.

"Holy Crap" He yelled out from the shock of the near miss.

Suddenly two stealth vandals revealed themselves from the hallway with the slower dregs coming out of a turn in the hallway.Gregory threw himself back and chucked the grenade into the hallway, sending it flying past the now visible stealth vandals and landing at the feet of the dregs.

"You know that old saying he who lives in a glass house should throw no stones meatbag? Because you should really fucking learn it." Archangel commented shortly after the vandal missed Gregory's head, he charged one of the vandals, bayonet ready. He rammed the bayonet deep into the gut of the stealth vandal, lifting the kicking vandal off the ground forcing it to drop its swords before he slammed it into the ground with a loud thud.

"If you want to be a bigoted meatbag find by me, but don't do it when the fate of the fucking city is at stake you ignorant son of a bitch." Archangel slammed his foot down on the vandals head as it attempted to crawl to its sword, smashing its head, and causing its soul to come gushing out.

Baligant rushed into the hallway, following the two other squad members. "You know, human, this operation is of particular importance. We don't want the Ketch reaching the city, and our chances of making sure that didn't happen would be increased if you weren't arguing about Dregs." As Baligant said this, he swiftly closed the distance between him and the remaining stealth vandal. His hand outstretched, and glowing purple energy appeared within it. Tendrils of similar energy were forced from the stealth vandal into the sphere in Baligant's hand, and the vandal simply disappeared as its energy was drained by Baligant.

Baligant's hand reflexively went towards his ammunition clip, though since he hadn't fired a shot he didn't reload. "We need to get this done with quickly. The sooner we get to the Captain, the sooner the Fallen will dissolve into infighting, and the easier the other fireteam's jobs will be. If you're done whining, human, we should continue on."

"HA HA,I was never a fast learner." Gregory yelled back at Archangel as he laid on the ground firing at the fast moving dregs that had survived the grenade.

A few fell to his well placed shots but five others dodged side to side with ease as he fired controlled shots from his rifle in an attempt to stop them dead in their tracks, but they had split up and wereclsing in on him faster than the normal fallen types.they seemed to be attempting to surround Gregory as the rest of the team finished off the vandals. He tried to lead on the creatures moves but they continued to use their otherworldly body build to perform unpredictable and erratic moves that messed with his aim.

"Aw F@$% this." He gave up trying to out think the creatures and quickly dropped his rifle and started to pull out his Sidewinder.

His aim was good but it was futile against the aliens numerous numbers, but he had yet to meet the target that could escape the pellets of a shotgun with him behind the trigger.

He pulled out the shotgun and unleashed a hail of buckshot upon four of the dregs, causing two of them to immediately fall and the others to retreat back to the hallway. He was so focused on them that he didn't notice the fifth one that sprung from behind a box to his left, It swung a knife the size of his forearm downward on him causing him to fall on his back in surprise. The knife thankfully missed and stabbed into the floor mere millimeters from his groin.

"Watch it you son of a .... *BOOOM*" The sound of the shotgun blast tearing the dregs face to pieces outmatched his voice as Gregory shot the creature point blank.

Without hesitation Baligant reached down with one hand to help Gregory up. "We need to keep moving. The Captain is the priority, we don't need to purge the entire ship." With his other hand, Baligant aimed his pulse rifle down the hallway. If the dregs came back, he would get three or four wild shots off before he had to use his other hand to reload, but the Dregs didn't know that and Baligant hoped the sight of the gun would be enough to keep them from closing the distance while he was helping Gregory. "On your feet, human." Baligant said, pulling on Gregory's arm.

"You're right. Let's get moving. The less fallen the city has to deal with the better." Archangel reloaded Red Death, and jogged down the hallway. He stopped at the bend, and looked around the corner. The next room was a cargo storage room. Crates were all over the room, some stacked as far as the ceiling. Ideal location for an ambush, and close quarters. Archangel had no problems in close combat, but he was unsure of his team mates skill in CQC. "Cargo bay ahead. Lots of cover, and short sight lines. Stick together, and move cautiously."

"Thanks" Gregory said with a friendly smile as he pulled himself up with Baligant's help.

"We've been slowed by these space scum for too long." He cocked his shotgun and reloaded the four shotshells that he had spent on the injured or dead dregs. The team secured the room and headed into the hallway toward the cargo bay.

He checked himself as they cautiously moved down the hallway for any injuries that he hadn't noticed during the melee but was glad to find that the fallen had been unable to touch him. Then he realized that his helmet had been hit, tenderly he felt around on his helmet and found that a huge gash had been made by the stealth vandal's sword when it had initially attacked him.His helmets systems didn't show any personal damage but It didn't seem to register the gash in its metal shell either.A mental note was made to inspect the piece of armor after they got back and to check the helmets H.U.D systems at the tower, but for now the concern was more on getting though this cargo bay, killing the Captain and getting out alive than on any malfunctioning equipment.

And so they moved deeper into the Ketch....

"Solid copy on your last Lead." Wolf said as she jumped down on to the deck beside her Fireteam Leader. "Nothing will get within ten feet of us." She said firmly and confidently as she walked with the other two of her team, her Pulsar MSE leveled as she was always on-alert whenever she was outside of the City. She was glad that their target was a Servitor, she preferred fighting the Fallen because they were easier than anything other than The Hives on Earth's Moon, which is her other preference because of their ease to massacre. She always took pleasure whenever she emerged from a hive. It made her feel like she was a single handed genocide. Course, if one thinks about it, any Guardian is. But that is neither here nor there. "Stay frosty.." She said to herself as she kept her head on a swivel.

"Make it 20, Wolf." Nikki responded, chuckling a bit at her last words as she pulled the bolt back on her Scout Rifle. She spotted a few Dregs down the hall, wielding fire extinguishers, trying to put out a few of the fires on the Ketch, more than likely caused by the damage dealt that allowed the Guardians entry. "Alright, the other teams should be on their way to their objectives at this point, let's move, got 4 Dregs down the hall."

With a muffled pop registering through her helmet, the recoil jolted back into her shoulder as a bullet slung it's way from the barrel of her rifle, straight into the temple of the Dreg furthest from the group. In the chaos of the Ketch, the gunshot was barely audible to the others.

The other 3 turned and let out a call for help, only seeing their comrade fall over.

"Get em'." She nodded to her team-mates.

"Roger that Lead, easy pickin's." Wolf said and quickly pulled the trigger of her Pulsar MSE letting off a quick burst directed at a Dreg's solar plexus and the recoil sending one round where she aimed, another in to the Dreg's throat, and the third in to it's forehead. Then within a heartbeat she swung her Pulsar to the side and pulled the trigger again, letting another burst in to another Dreg in the same fashion before the first three spent cartridges even hit the floor.

Syrus, being further ahead of his teammates stood still, watching the Dregs he had been walking up to start dropping. "Well, I guess no more sneaking around, huh?" His question was answered as the last surviving Dreg locked visors with him and it pulled a shock pistol out of a hip holster. Syrus' reply was a thrown knife that struck the Dreg through one of the glowing yellow eyes on its helmet, dropping the alien brigand without another word. Syrus eased out of his half-crouch that he'd assumed when he threw the knife and turned around, throwing out his arms. "What the hell, guys? I had them. We didn't have to go shooting stuff already!"

"Calm your tits Wildfire." Wolf began playfully as she lowered her Pulsar. "There's enough chaos going on in the ship that they wouldn't have heard a thing. Now if you're done with your fancy trick shots.. We've got work to do." Wolf said firmly, her playful voice being replaced almost as if a switch had been flipped. She brought her Pulsar back up to her shoulder and made her way down the hall, her finger on the trigger.

Syrus rolled his head and dropped his arms as Wolf passed him. "Yeah, yeah. Sometimes you take the fun out of everything. You're like a Servitor that sucks the fun out of me instead of my life." Syrus pulled his sniper rifle off his right shoulder and held it down, walking silently in step behind Wolf now that his banter was over. He looked down at the indicator on his rifle to make sure that the magazine was full at 4 rounds. He'd also made sure beforehand that his scout rifle, which was slung on his left shoulder, was topped off as well. Syrus looked side to side as Wolf looked ahead of them.

Ketch-
Christopher walked down the halls shouldering his rifle, his footsteps echoed as he walked. Slowing his pace he came across a door way, slowly he turned the corner only to be greeted by darkness. He flipped on his small flashlight and began to walk down the hallway. he began to sweep the dark doorways, "This was a Fallen looting ship, why was it empty..." he mumbled to himself as he walked, looking for signs of life......

"They're dead, what does it matter to us how fun it was? The rest of the ship couldn't hear the shots over the howling wind." Nikki sighed over the mic, her own helmet muffling the noise from outside, the various noises of the Ketch, as well as the wind howling past the hole made in the middle of the ship, and now there were 4 dead Dregs they needn't worry about. "Let's move, and hide the bodies, we still have the element of stealth, still might get to stab at them, Syrus." She replied, having to balance keeping her team safe, and having the whole team-dynamics thing working as well.

"Copy that Lead, told you Wildfire. Now.. Lets get on and start hunting shall we?" Wolf said with a clear sense of pride in her voice. She paused her advance and crouched to wait for their Fireteam leader. Meanwhile, Wolf brought her right forearm over and tapped a few buttons on a touch pad which interacted with her heads up display. After she finished typing in her few commands a small number popped up in the corner of her H.U.D. that read "002". She smiled, and was happy to know that her kill-counter was still functioning.

Servinta wrote:"Thanks" Gregory said with a friendly smile as he pulled himself up with Baligant's help.

Jackal, Delta Team

Owwwwwwwww..... Jackal thought inwardly.
His ghost appeared above him. "That was... Sad," he snickered.
"Screw off," Jackal muttered standing slowly as he rolled up off the floor. "Now where's the rest of the fireteam?"
"Just down the hall."
Jackal pulled 3 shotgun shells from his belt, loading them into the copper colored weapon. Putting that away, he pulled out the lime colored revolver at his side.
Jackal took off down the hall towards his ally's.
He skidded to a halt behind his ally's, almost unknown.
"We're here!" His ghost announced unceremoniously.
