"Everything changed with the arrival of the Traveler. Long ago, it breathed new life into our system. Rain washed over Mars. Fresh air cleansed the skies over Venus. Soon after, humanity raced into the black, and colonized these newly made worlds. It was a time of miracles - a great Golden Age.
It did not last. The Traveler had an ancient enemy. A powerful darkness that found us hereon Earth, and nearly destroyed us. No one knows exactly what happened in those final moments, but we know this: we survived, and we owe our lives to the Traveler.
In our darkest days, Humans, Exos, and Awoken found the Traveler where it made its last stand, low above Earth, silent and immobile. We built the City - our last - within its protective veil, fighting countless wars to keep its peace. From that dark age, Guardians were born.
Now, a new are has begun, and the only hope for our future lies in unlocking the greatest secrets of our past. You are a Guardian of the last safe city on Earth, able to wield some of the Traveler's incredible power. You are taking this mantle just as a new day dawns. Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks have finally returned to our long-lost worlds, only to find out we are not alone.
Defend the last safe City on Earth. Defeat our enemies. Explore the ancient ruins of our Solar System. Discover all that we have lost.
Become Legend.
Warsaw, Old Poland
Earth
The skies roared above the abandoned city that had once been known as Warsaw in previous time as the massive machine made its way through the sky, thundering in the direction of the Last City, flanked by several dropships. The Ketch was large, larger than some of the old colony ships, even, and within were countless of the plundering aliens known as the Fallen. There were many of them, and all of them were armed - from the lowliest of Dregs to the mightiest Captain, each and every one of them was ready for battle. A small trial of smoke trialed behind the Ketch, reminding of the impact it had only recently suffered as other, enemy ships had opened a hole in the ship's hull, allowing the City's fabled Guardians entry, in a selfless act of heroism - a boarding action. The Ketch was closing in on the Last City, and it had to be eliminated before it could reach the Wall - no matter the cost.
Eight Guardians had made entry, spread across four Fireteams - two made up of three Guardians, with the remaining two forming their own Fire'team'. More Guardians were on their way as reinforcements, should those deployed need it, but they were delayed - in the Ketch's trial had formed a massive surge in Fallen activity.
Fireteam Bravo, formed of a Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, were first into the breach, together with Fireteams Alpha and Delta. They were followed by Fireteam Gamma, entirely made up of Hunters. Having boarded the ship, each Fireteam set out to fulfill their objective. Fireteam Bravo was to find the leading Fallen Captain, and to dispatch him - without any strong leadership, the Fallen would surely fall into disarray. Fireteam Gamma, the hunters, had another, crucial task: Gamma would find the High Servitor on board, and kill him, severing the Fallen of their link to the Aether. It was another, vital task, for without the Aether, the Fallen would wither and die. It were two smaller tasks that were given to the remaining two Titans. Fireteam Delta, and it's Titan, would follow the hunters in their search for the High Servitor, while the Awoken Titan of Alpha would locate the engine room, and destroy it and, with it, the Ketch. It was a dangerous task, and would serve as the backup plan: were the other Fireteams to fall, the Fallen would not get away with it - not alive, at least. The Ketch would be detonated, the threat of it permanently removed, another foe of the Traveler removed - another piece of Darkness vanquished by the champions of the Light.
Emilia, the Awoken
Fireteam Alpha, Ketch
Emilia studied her environments closely as she slowly made her way through the Ketch, scout rifle held closely. It was rather tough navigating the ship on her own, but luckily, she had the help of her Ghost, which made things a bit easier. Unfortunately, the little floating robot still had to actually map the Ketch, and it, as always, needed to hack its way into the Fallen systems, and that'd take some time. Emilia was pretty convinced that there'd be plenty of Fallen drawn to her location because of it, and that wasn't something she wanted - especially not since the terminals they'd seen were all in clear view, with no cover nearby. As she continued searching, she finally found what she sought - a terminal, with actual cover nearby. Looking around, and finding that there were no Fallen nearby, she approached it, and her Ghost floated towards the terminal.
"This will take some time..."
