So Rel. I'm not as free as I thought this weekend. But the war(ish) will happen.

So my elite force will meet one of your invading forces (the smaller ones) and talk to their commander. Be directed to a larger force, eventually to the commander of the whole operation. If it turns to battle my main force is close(ish) so we can war.

Russia's an idiot. So is the US, and quite a few of the western sphere. Population education and literacy is your issue, not the politics of foreign nations.

Nation Name: Mediria (Demonym: Mediri)
Population: 9,450,000
National Symbols: Flag, Mediri Sun (Central Figure on flag),
Claimed Territory: http://i.imgur.com/3BhoBTn.png
Capital City: Erbam (Baghdad)

Government Type: Absolute Monarchy (With some semi-autonomous states)
Government Policies: Trade Empire, Expansion, Monarchism
Leader/s: King Mazeem El-Asra

Primary Culture: Mediri
Accepted/Minority Cultures: Yasul (mostly in modern-day Iraqi Kurdistan)
National/Dominant Religion: Mediri Polytheism
Minority Religion/s: Various tribal cults/mythologies

Military Organization: Central, professional army supplemented by levy militia in times of war or great distress.
Army Size: 250,000
Fleet Size: Various lightly armored trade vessels, 20 biremes.

Economic Policy: Market Economics, Centralized Economy
Infrastructure: Centered mainly in between the Tigris and Euphrates. Many bridges, one long trade road running along the Persian Gulf coast, one "Silk Road" being constructed, the Erbam Highway connects the two. Big cities can afford modern, or fairly modern, materials and tech, but many poor areas are still made out of mud and dirt.
Primary Import/s: Rice, Wheat, Iron
Primary Export/s: Gold, Hides, Gypsum

History: The region of Mesopotamia was the birth of civilization. Numbers, writing, music, economics, all essentials were created here. The first Fertile Crescent Civilizations were a collection of city-states, headed in succession by the most dominant cities. In 400 BC, the Samnids, led by Samnis the Great, first united much of the region, extending into Syria and Persia. Samnis governed the city-state of Erbam, and systematically removed from power neighboring city-states. The marriage of Samnis, who was middle-aged and heirless, to the Yasul princess Abesa, assured the Yasul city-state a level of semi-autonomy, with its own mini-economy. During the reign of the Samnid Empire, the Mediri people first generated as a single culture, enforced by royally-mandated education and trade laws, demanding the development of one language. In 100 BC, the Samnid Empire collapsed. Seizing the opportunity, General Osris El-Asra seized the throne after defeating the Yasul people in a civil war in which the Yasul tried to break away. Osris, and his descendants, then stripped the Yasuls of their own economy, merely allowing them tribal governance and authority over tax collection. The Asran Dynasty first saw a large scale amount of trade between the kingdoms of the east and west, making Erbam and the Kingdom of Mediria a large trading hub. The current King, Mazeem, is seeing plans to construct a large highway to connect the strange, foreign lands that surround him. The economy of Mediria is growing, with canals enlarging the agricultural sector and mines increasing gypsum and gold operations. However, with growing empires near him, Mazeem must act swiftly if he wishes to remain a power.
