Im talking about the territory you captured, it was assumed under me that a strong established Kingdom existed there, thus my preparation against an organised Kingdom than simply small villages and weak states.

It... Was a kingdom. It was small though. And the river valleys didn't really expand into it therefore giving it less people. Hence my eight month war.

Yeah eight months is okay. But expect invading the south to be much harder due to terrain and populace. We discussed this much earlier days ago.

Anyway; new map for my lands (Allen added so I didn't over lap him by mistake) the top two provinces in the Albania region are the new ones that are being colonized. Might have overlapped Latium a little by mistake?

Huh?
I thought you started off with Greek Epirus, but you don't own any of Greek Epirus, and you currently claim all of Albania + the southern bit of Montenegro.

The map will be hard to complete without an accepted players list. It will even harder to continue posting ICly without knowing who exists and who doesn't.

Too much then? I'll scale it back in next update
Edit: looking at google maps looks like you're right; I guess I was thinking more of the historical region rather than the modern one Image
Say from roundabouts Byllis to north of Dyrrachium.
Either way, whatever it's called, I was thinking of that area when I said 'Epirus', but yeah I'm going to scale it back anyway

Ah, well, its size is no issue, I was just confused about your claims. RL Albania + southern Montenegro + Greek Epirus, even would be fine.

Edit: anyone know what kind of pop Italia would have if not for Rome and it's success?
Because according to Augustus himself there were at least a million people in Rome alone by 0 CE but obviously without Rome's success it'll be a lot lower

~4 mil by the 300s, apparently.
However, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_demography
suggests a wide range; from 4 mil to 14 mil. Take your pick. :P

With the other half of Italy and more I've gone with a fairly conservative 5 million for now.

Cos PVP may happen soon lol...

And I just realised. Armies raised by Qin alone rivalled those of Chu (Reatra's entire land), and my territory consists of other states. Considering that China's method of war at this stage is still adequately trained massed armies (Through mandatory conscription), perhaps my military numbers and pop is still considered epic-ly downsized ? lol

oui oui

On PvP; the rough system is that RPers can work it out between themselves, after informing the co-ops/OP that they will be having a war, and if it doesn't work, then ORBATs, strategies, etc. will be posted by both sides and a separate co-op decision made on war's result.

edit: dammit, just realised all my pop figures were based off pre-Roman Greece. Anyone mind if I bump my pop from 2 to 3 mil?

Sure, as soon as you get accepted. I will probably aim to colonize upper Libya, parts of France and may invade Lowe Spain.

History: The Montivalian Civilization has grown strong in the last several centuries. The region in which there are both flatlands and mountains in close proximity. This has shaped the ideology of many cities in the region. Namely Moxu, which became the cultural hub of the region. Moxu City is situated in a valley several kilometers west of Lake Itzbal(Izabal). The Valley was further cut off by a second series of mountains from a larger floodplain which made up ancient Moxu's domain. Around 140 BCE Moxu and several of its neighbors fought together to repel an invasion by a kingdom to the north. Following their victory in the battle of Moxu Vale, the coalition united as a the High Kingdom of Montival.

The following century and a half consisted primarily of expansion by diplomacy all the cities and tribes that lived in the surrounding area. Llyrin's predecessor, Kamahl II Yokal began the first conquest and found that the southern cities were unprepared for war and were easy conquests. Unfortunately he died in combat in 3 BCE. Llyrin was elected following his death and completed some of his conquests. He is again seeking to add new partners to the High Kingdom's domains.

Miscellaneous: Moxua culture has much more gender equality than other regions at this time. Noble women are eligiable to be elected as High Queen, however none have. Noble women, just like noble men, are expected to learn how to fight and to march to war should they be called upon.

The High Kingdom's Eastern coastline is populated most heavily while the population density drops off as you look westward. The ideologies of individuals change as you move west as well. In the east there is a more mercantile and expansive ideology while in the less populous west there is a more isolationist and agricultural ideology.
